She admits it is crazy to still love Jack. Jack appears and grins he knew she would return to him! He excitedly babbles and Jen stops him. She only said that a part of her still loves him. A part of her loves Daniel too! Dan has turned away. Jack gives him a look and then numbly notes she loves both of them. Jen addresses Dan and she knows this seems insane. Jack reminds her of their history together and argues he can make her happy again. Dan argues he broke her heart. Jack exclaims this is his family to put back together, not Dan's! Dan stands aside. Jack tries to convince Jen to take him back. Jen reminds him he blindsided them with all his lies. She does not know what would have become of her without Dan. Jack gets it, but he is back. Jen admits her heart still skips a beat as they shared a life. But he still left! Perhaps he counted on being the only man she would ever love. She could and did and does love another man! Dan looks hopeful. Jack now listens as Jen praises Dan for making her love and trust someone at the same time. Jack informs the doctor he is no longer needed. Jen disagrees, but admits Jack is not quite as unreliable as he seems. Dan concedes that Jack is not a complete screw up, as his kids turned out fine. Jack concedes Dan is a standup guy. Jen agrees. She is torn and wishes gran were there to tell her what to do. Dan thinks he knows what she has to do. He hugs her and asks her to sit down ... - At Horton house, Bo and Hope go over old letters from the attic. So many! Bo soon finds one and shows Hope. She reads it and gasps "Oh my God! Maggie must see this." They race off to show her. - At the Kiriakis mansion, lovebirds Victor and Maggie gush about getting married and kiss. Bo and Hope interrupt. Hope presents Maggie with the letter Alice wrote to her the day before she died. Maggie is baffled and would love to read it. Hope suggests she read it alone. Bo suggests she sit down. The redhead finds their behavior unusual, takes the letter, and starts to read. "Dearest Maggie ..." - Stefano is the grand DiMera living room alone, enjoying a cigar and fine brandy as opera plays in the background. A fire burns in the fireplace behind him. Marlena sweeps in and he murmurs it is a lovely surprise to see his queen of the night. He taunts her at least John has his health and toasts to that. Marlena SLAPS him and accuses him of setting the whole thing in motion! She thought he was done with them. He plays innocent. She accuses him of setting them up. He calmly notes the evidence is solid, so he has heard. She knows it bears his mark, the way the records were altered, photos doctored. He retorts she is simply taking out her stress on him. Marlena declares he is done hurting John! He stares and she wonders what he is looking at. Stefano admits her beauty is timeless. Does John even know where she is now? Marlena takes a step closer and advises him to stop this before it goes too far. The phoenix drawls he sees her fire, but her eyes indicate she has her doubts about John's innocence. It is a bitter pill, he notes. Marlena stands her ground, for she knows what kind of man John is, whereas Stefano is a DiMera bully. The phoenix points out many have had their retirement funds stolen by John. She insists he did not do it. Stefano asks where the money is, in that case. "You tell me!" says she. He quips there is no proof. She glares at him and replies that is all the proof she needs. Stefano claims that will not hold up with a judge and adds he has no interest in this. Either John has another enemy or he is not the upstanding man she assumed he was! - Carrie arrives home to her room with Austin. He wants to talk. They agree that they do not want John's case to come between them. Austin has arranged for a romantic dinner to be brought to their room. Carrie is elated. Austin tells her of his discussion of the case with Rafe. She would rather not talk about work, sits on his lap, and they start to kiss. They later realize it is very hard not to mention work. Austin has an idea. They should stop acting like a forensics accountant and defense attorney. They ought to go back to being Austin and Carrie. He kisses her neck and calls her his beautiful, sexy wife. They kiss on the lips and agree to stop talking altogether. - Back at DiMera mansion, Marlena thinks Stefano is trying to bait her. His attempts to hurt her and her loved ones must end immediately! Stefano chuckles she needs to defend John like this.
