As reported by DaysCafe on Twitter, Days TV household ratings climbed to 2.0 in the last week of 2011, echoing what Huffington Post recently wrote - that new Days is a top 10 show to watch! They were all there on Monday, when Will faced Sami following his meltdown. Nothing happened, however, and instead of confronting her directly about what he saw (i.e. her and EJ together), he spoke in circles, leading some folks to lose interest ... December 11, 2011 Week ending December 2, household ratings were still at 1.9 baby! December 4, 2011 As EJ and Sami's encounter intensified (Monday) so did the ratings. On day 2 of their one nighter, 2.554 million viewers tuned in, the most that week. (TV household ratings were at 1.9 and the total number of viewers for the week was also up). For Valentine's week (Feb 14-18) Days was at 1.8 in TV household ratings, finishing third, with just over 2.5 million watchers. Soap operas are supposed to have romance and there was very little for Valentine's week. However, the curse itself may be cursed, as close to 10% of fans now watch their soaps online. That would mean there were really 2.75 million total viewers, though 3 million would still be needed to be out of the curse range ... February 18, 2011 The Ratings Curse is Back! October 22, 2010 The Adrenaline Factor ... For the week ending October 15, Days was at 1.8 in household ratings, with over 2.4 million total viewers. The most watched day, with over 2.5 million viewers, was when Mel was determined to reveal the truth to Dan (though the next day she did not). Soaps would do well to stop dragging things out. A promised reveal should deliver, with drama that comes from it. If the writers intended to proceed with the Dan/Chloe wedding, for example, they still could have had mad Mel blurt out that Chloe cheated, after which Dan could have replied he did not believe it! (unexpected reaction) Then mad Mel could have become secretly determined to find the identity of the man Chloe cheated with (asking Phil to help her, unaware it was him!) That way, there would still have been a reveal, as promised, and a new story would have been born from it. Ratings have shown time and time again that a delivered reveal always gets healthier numbers, cos it keeps the viewer adrenaline going.
