Jen rushes down in her robe to answer the door to Dr. Dan, who pleasantly bears coffee and muffins. Shirtless Jack saunters out of the kitchen carrying a cup of coffee for each. Jen gasps. Jack plays it up. Jen stammers this is not what it appears, he merely fell asleep on the sofa. She wants him to leave, but Dan thinks he should stay. The three of them have a lot to talk about ... - John flashes back to receiving EJ's class action lawsuit. He takes a deep breath and walks around the room like a caged pawn. He returns to the bedroom. Marlena stirs in the luxurious bed. He admits he has been going over things in his head. He mentions EJ's lawsuit. She agrees it must be Stefano who orchestrated the entire fiasco. He murmurs he does not wish to put his family through such an ordeal and frowns. Marlena informs him they are one and the same, especially after their last two difficult years together. This is nothing. Whatever he feels, she feels too. "That's what our love is, always has been, and that is never going to change." They are now close to each other on the bed and he reaches for her as she whispers now is a good time. Rafe had interrupted them yesterday, but this feels right. He drawls he wants to make love to her so badly. She wants it more than anything. They start to kiss passionately ... - Rafe tenderly wakes up Sami on the sofa. She fell asleep fully dressed while working. He has tea. She is nervous about getting the kids off to school. Super Rafe already did that and they kissed her while she was sleeping! Groggy Sami is happy when he starts to kiss her, then realizes it is Monday. She babbles she messed up already by forgetting Johnny's special sports jersey. Rafe grins he took care of it and even took a picture for her. Sami giggles and has a look. Rafe is dismayed he forgot to save it. He knows how important the kids are, which is why she took the job. He does not mind helping, but is it really worth it for her to work? Sami admits it will be hectic. He assures her they will do things as a team, but he wants to make sure she is sure. She is indeed and wants to go shower. First he has something to discuss with her. He updates her on the class action lawsuit filed by EJ against John, on behalf of the investors who lost money. She snaps why would he do that! Rafe explains he is running for mayor and wants votes, no matter how he gets them. Sami calls EJ a rat bastard. She will go see John and Marlena on her way to work and thanks Rafe for reminding her family comes first. She has also heard him discussing the case on the phone with the FBI and knows he will come through, just as he always does. - In their room, Carrie blasts Austin for looking at her files of John as he works at the desk, and she snatches them away. He stands up, insisting he would never do such a thing. Those are his files, which she should not be reading either! Carrie gulps they are easy to mix up, then points out that he does not have to take the case. He retorts neither does she. Carrie is admittedly cranky, as EJ's lawsuit threw her for a loop. Austin assures her she is a brilliant lawyer. She believes he is prejudiced. He thinks that would be his opinion even if he did not love her. Nevertheless, he has concerns about the pressure. She snaps what can she do? She is all John has. She declares she must go meet him, to talk strategy. Austin adds he will join her, as John has requested his presence this morning. - At the townhouse, John and Marlena's passionate kiss is interrupted by the doorbell. He informs her he invited Carrie and Austin over to talk. They soon greet their guests and John vows to fight this thing. Austin explains he should not stay as there is a conflict of interest. He had no choice but to agree to remain on the case. His employers at the SEC did not give him any Salem alternative. John sighs had he known, he would not have invited him over. However, he has something to say to him, as he knows he has seen the so-called evidence. "I am innocent and I swear on everything that I love, it's not me!" Carrie agrees. He is honest and did not need the money. Austin starts to say what the SEC believes, that he stole money from his investors to rebuild the company. John yells he was set up. Rafe and Sami arrive and sense the tension. John drawls he and Austin were talking about where things stand. He is innocent despite what he may find. Carrie gets upset all over again about Austin taking the assignment. As they argue, John flashes back to playing with numbers at his computer. "Enough! No more fighting!" he exclaims. Marlena agrees. She feels John has had enough stress. John is very sorry his problems are coming between them. Carrie replies they are not. He wants to get to work with Carrie. Austin must depart for his own job. Outside the door, Carrie agrees they can talk later. He wishes she could see where he was coming from. He is doing his best. Carrie looks down. Exit Austin. - Jen tidies up the living room and Dan is not pleased to hear she let Jack stay. Jack comes back fully dressed and argues that is Jennifer's business. Dan haughtily reminds him he abandoned his family and now he sees they are sad again. He will not allow it, as he and Jen are in love. He will not let him walk back into her life again! Jack glares at him. He does not know the whole story. Jen agrees. Dan angrily mentions his blog, how he ignored his family, then fell into the cake like some kind of circus clown. Jack wonders who this doctor is to cast stones at him. Jen blurts out Jack was kidnapped. Doubtful Dan scoffs. Jen elaborates. He was kidnapped by a drug cartel in Afghanistan that he was supposed to expose. It was his assignment. Jack thinks he owes him an apology. Dan argues she only has his word. How can she believe him??? - At the townhouse, Marlena praises Sami for her new job. Sami thinks it is not much compared to Carrie's career. Carrie stops her and points out she raised four beautiful children. Sami smiles. Carrie states she and John must soon get to work. Rafe quietly takes him aside and promises to do what he can to get him out of this mess. John suspects it was Stefano DiMera who set him up. Rafe has the same idea, but they will have a hell of a time proving it. - Back at Horton house, Jack is most indignant. He suggests Dan talk to the embassy, then snaps he does not care what he believes. Dan retorts this is what he would expect. Jack warns not to push him."Flight or fight" dares Dan. Jen stands between the two guys and exclaims she has had enough! - Back at the station, Rafe has some advice for Austin, who is at a loss... - Back at the townhouse, Carrie has a warning for Sami ...
