BLAST FROM THE PAST!

PART 1

- Mel and Dan have been up all night talking. Jen asks if they figured anything out. Not yet and they are ready for coffee. Dan starts to mutter about his mom not being there. Mel points out he needs answers. They
sit and discuss. Dan is confused about what happened. If it is all true,
why would someone do this to Maggie? Was his father in on it? If the DNA test is positive, he realizes Maggie would be happy, as would Mel, though he is not sure he would ever feel the same way! Growing up he had an awesome mother. Mel and Jen understand that he does not need another one. However, Mel thinks it would be nice to have her in his life. Dan thinks she already is in his life enough. Mel suggests he talk to someone. Victor. Dan disagrees. Jen points out he was good friends with his parents. Dan agrees to talk to him IF the DNA tests are positive. Mel mentions going to the mansion to help Maggie plan the wedding. Jen and Dan suddenly realize it would be weird if he were Victor's stepson and also his godson, but Mel thinks it would be wonderful. She assures Dan that Maggie will not try to replace his mother. Jen adds Maggie knows what it is like to be an adoptive mother, to have been the mother who raised a child. Mel recalls that Dan once advised her to allow Carly into her life, tells him she loves him, hugs him, and goes. Alone, Dan and Jen embrace. She tries to make him feel better. He remains troubled that his parents might not have told him the truth. Jen explains parents do what they feel is right to protect their children. Besides, if he opened his heart to Maggie, he would not be losing a family, but gaining a mother.
- At the mansion, Maggie has just gotten off the phone with Melissa and Sara, to update the girls on her new son. She is all smiles when Victor visits her in her room. The redhead marvels about her close connection with Mel. The girl also helped her see it was okay to love again. She is tickled pink she has a granddaughter and reminds Vic he too is involved. He nervously wonders what she means. Maggie giggles he is Daniel's godfather. So he had no idea of anything before? Pause. The Greek tycoon states he never saw much of his godson and had no idea what
was going on. Maggie sighs that they probably assumed it would never come to light. Daniel wants DNA testing. Perhaps it will bring them both some piece of mind. She has decided to allow him to take as much time
as he needs to deal with this. They cuddle on the sofa and she smiles if she has a son, she will be grandma again. And she is even luckier for she is about to marry the most wonderful man. They kiss.
- Distracted Abigail is studying history at the pub. When Chad enters,
she is ready for a war cos she cannot forget how he kissed Mel! She is mad. He reminds his girlfriend he mistook Mel for her and it was only a kiss. Abigail explains it was not that, but he was into it! He insists that is because he assumed he was kissing her, but Abigail remains suspicious.
How would he feel if she was kissing one of his best friends? Chad
makes a joke about her kissing cousin Will. She is serious. He admits he knows not how to make this right. Abigail fears maybe they cannot.
Chad argues that she was the one who first suggested he even dance with Mel. Jealous Abigail wants to know if he has a thing for her ...
- At the town square, EJ is working the crowd as potential mayor, Nicole at his side, distributing literature. Quinn Hudson himself shows up and Nicole snaps what is he doing there! He sarcastically drawls EJ should be glad to see him. Nicole demands to know where Taylor is. Busy traveling for her great new job in Paris. They mutually agreed to part company.
He taunts he is getting the uncomfortable feeling they wish he had not come back to Salem! They claim they are not fussed about it. EJ reminds him of his former line of work. Quinn warns him not to take that arrogant tone with him. EJ asks publicist Nicole for some privacy. She reluctantly departs. EJ now wants to know about Taylor. Quinn retorts she is fine. Then what on earth does he want with him! Quinn reminds him he took
a certain enterprise off his hands once upon a time. EJ remarks Quinn
has no allies in town and Roman made him leave to avoid going to prison. Quinn drawls he can have his lawyer change that. EJ calls him a drug dealing pimp with no pedigree. Quinn wonders what the good people of Salem would think if they knew all about HIS illustrious past. Then his dream of becoming mayor would become a pathetic joke. EJ warns him not to threaten him. Quinn continues, noting the bad publicity he could get. EJ frowns and wonders what he wants. Quinn points out the ... business he bought from him was shut down (i.e. the drug biz). He has another thing planned. Seeing no way out, EJ agrees to finance his latest business venture, provided it is legit. Nicole rejoins them and Quinn states he will see them at the outdoor café in a few minutes. He walks off and Nicole insists EJ tell her what just happened, as she senses something bad is in the air. He quips he will handle it and steps away ...
