Episode 12,078 - Rafe is at the romantic restaurant with beautiful Kate, who has just ended their affair. He ignores her break up announcement and decides they should discuss at his place. She gasps no. He wonders why. Kate sighs and diverts her gaze. He immediately realizes this is about Stefano. He gently urges his lady love to enlighten him. What has Stefano done? Nothing, says she. She pretends she was not planning to get serious. Rafe shakes his head and drawls he is not buying it for a second! She woefully whispers he must accept the truth. He has been too much of a distraction. He seductively states she likes his distracting. She insists they end it now. He soap stares. She repeats herself and stops him from interrupting. He must have known one day this would come. Rafe is disheartened. - Stefano’s contact the corrupt cop meets him by the town gate. He is dressed as a civilian and they are alone. So they think! Sami lurks behind the gate. Stefano the master orders his flunky to make certain evidence disappear. Sami excitedly listens. The phoenix hands his plant the file number of the case and its contents. He wants all the evidence the police have on this case. The corrupt cop replies he cannot do this. Stefano growls he is on his payroll and therefore cannot refuse. The corrupt cop stammers the old evidence would be in a secret lockup. He would have to pull a few strings to get himself inside. Stefano calls that excellent. However, he wants him to destrrrroy nothing! Sami becomes confused. Stefano insists his man bring all the evidence directly to him and orders him to go. He then chuckles and walks away. Sami wonders what he is up to, wanting the evidence against Will for himself. - Sonny sits close to Will at the coffee house and gushes given the success of recent events, their tomorrow will be amazing. Will is going to have his parental rights back! Adrienne appears and wonders what will happen tomorrow. They act like it is just another day. Adrienne wants to know if their optimism stems from Will’s baby situation and his parental rights. Sonny stands up. Will gets a text and excuses himself to talk to a guy about a school project. Sonny thanks his mom for her helping. She was and is nervous. Sonny assures her they succeeded and things might now work out, though he fails to share the details. He will reveal more when he can. He now notes she was supposed to have dinner with papa Justin. She laments he was called to a mysterious meeting. It seems to make her uncomfortable. - Nick starts to excuse himself. Upset Gabi notes what he did to their room, plus everyone knows he has been acting strangely. Either he explain everything to her right here right now or she walks! And what possessed him to trash their room? Nick flashes back to desperately seeking the missing money, then pretends it concerns his project for boss lady Kate. He lost a work flash drive. Gabi reminds him he backs stuff up. He claims it crashed, then pretends he found the flash drive at work. He had taken off to go look for it at the office. She wonders why he did not tell her. He replies she does not need to hear his work problems, given her delicate condition and suddenly apologizes. He agrees they do need to communicate better. He assures her he loves her and suggests they talk over a bite to eat. He promises to be forthcoming and reminds her they love each other. Gabi once more falls prey to his manipulations and lets him hug her. - After EJ requests his help to bring about the destruction of Stefano, legal eagle Justin bursts out laughing. He falls down in his chair still laughing and dabs at his eyes, then puts away his hanky. EJ tries to keep his composure. Justin gathers the heir apparent is actually serious. He is indeed and he intends to dismantle all DiMera enterprises and subsidiaries, placing them under his control this summer. Justin reminds him he is a Kiriakis. EJ muses he is the perfect person to assist him. It would be under the protection of Kiriakis projects and no one would suspect him. Justin wonders why he should bother. EJ dangles that he would be the Kiriakis who helped bring down the almighty Stefano DiMera. Justin gets interested. He deduces EJ did not forgive his father, as he pretended. EJ confirms he never forgave his fatha for disowning him and he never ever will. He has some papers to leave for him to look over. Justin will consider his offer, but warns there can be nothing illegal. That is crystal clear. The Kiriakis lawyer now reminds EJ that Stefano kills his enemies. EJ muses he is presently preoccupied so with the right people helping, he will not see this coming! He elegantly departs with his briefcase. Justin is impressed. - At the coffee house, Will sits with his arm draped around Sonny as Adrienne gushes about baby clothes. Sami arrives and the guys step away to get them lattes. Sami anxiously thanks Adrienne again. Adrienne is glad she helped Will, then suggests they make amends. Will and Sonny watch from the counter and Sonny muses Will could be the magic potion that brings the two moms together. Sami and Adrienne are ready to shake, forgive and forget, until Adrienne spies her flashy engagement ring. So the rumors are true! She accuses her of crawling into bed with EJ, then catches herself and apologizes. Sami is not offended. Sonny and Will return with the lattes. Adrienne gets sarcastic about Sami’s engagement, the fact that Sonny did not spill. He did not think it was his business. Sami quips now that his mom knows the whole world will and asks her son for a moment. Sonny wishes Adrienne had made more of an effort. But Adrienne feels she is marrying the devil incarnate. Meanwhile, Sami updates Will on Stefano meeting his man to get the evidence. Will is not pleased she followed the phoenix and even less pleased that he is involved. Sami would rather focus on the positive. The evidence will disappear and then all will be as it should be. Will, however, has a bad feeling he cannot shake. - Justin gets a call from Adrienne, as he busily reads the papers on his desk. They agree to meet at the grand house of Kiriakis for a late dinner. After the call, Justin takes off his glasses and tells himself EJ just might be able to pull off this coup. - Nick is standing a few feet away from his hungry wife at the outdoor cafe when he places a frantic call to Sami. He needs what she stole! Sami refuses to play and snaps he should remember what he did to her son! Click. She now reaches for the envelope she is still carrying around in her stuffed handbag and wonders what he was doing with the big cash grab. Nick goes back to pregnant Gabi, who is chowing down. She catches him staring at her. He claims to be caught up in the moment and ominously promises he will cherish their time together. Gabi gets a feeling of doom and gloom. Why is he talking like that? - At the romantic restaurant, Rafe laments he had not realized there was a timeline. Kate wistfully explains they both knew they would not last forever and wipes the tears from her eyes. He thinks it is all too casual but he understands. He extends his hand for friendship and she accepts. He kisses her well manicured hand and she melts. He now stands up and silently walks away like a lone hero at the end of a movie. Kate quietly curses Stefano as the tears trickle down her cheeks. Moments later, Rafe enters the coffee house. He approaches studying Will at his table and updates him on Kate’s decision to end their relationship. Will is sorry.
