Episode 12,087 - Kristen repeats she is a DiMera so maybe she and Brady should call the whole damn thing off. He stands stunned by the flowers as she pouts. He cannot believe she would cancel their wedding in a day over a foolish fight. He tenderly touches her face and insists this makes no sense. She mutters it does to her! Brady is baffled. She notes they got carried away with the romance, that is all. Meanwhile there are very valid reasons they should not be together. Brady gets cross she wants to end their relationship after he reacted to someone hurting someone close to him. She thinks he deserves better. This is his chance, his out, and he should take it. He assures her she is a changed woman and he needs no out. Having remembered her devious plan, she screams to take the out she is giving him! He emotionally replies he wants only her. He does not understand why she would take the side of her family, whom she was estranged from for so long, against him. What did he do? She sadly states he did nothing wrong, Ding dong! Kristen now asks him to answer the door as she gave the staff the day off. He loves she can be so mean and nice at the same tine and goes to the door. Kristen whispers he is too good. Maggie waltzes in wearing an elegant white suit, a smile, and carrying a beautiful gift box. Kristen thinks she is sweet, but this is not a good time for her. She exits. Maggie has noticed the broken flowers and wonders. Brady talks cold feet. And it is all because of his father! He stares darkly. He is convinced that his fiancee cannot get over the child she lost years ago because of John playing mind games. Jealous junior storms out of the DiMera mansion to confront him, man to man. - At Horton house, troubled teen JJ gets an eyeful of Dan and Jen together. He snaps Dan sure is there a lot! Jen explains he and Parker are always welcome. JJ notes they were pretty intense. Jen refers to his friend being in a bad way. JJ acts sympathetic, asks if he can play with Parker’s train, and assures his mother that he did the paperwork for summer school. He walks out of the living room. Jen sighs to Dan that things are not all peachy keen in the world of Hortons at the moment. - At the hospital, concerned Lucas and Sami learn from the nurse that Rafe’s condition is still critical. Sami throws her arms around Lucas like a schoolgirl seeking support. Rafe means much to the kids, who love him. Lucas muses just the kids? Sami admits she loves him too, though she cannot be with him. She goes on to say that Kate was the one who found him. Lucas is perplexed. Sami suddenly realizes he has no idea, and stammers he will eventually find out. His mother was having an affair with Rafe! A frown creases Lucas’ brow. This is more than disturbing so he would rather discuss who attacked Rafe. He suspects the DiMeras. Sami dramatically defends EJ and points out Rafe was on his way to give him an FBI jacket for Johnny. Smart Lucas exclaims that means EJ was aware of Rafe’s whereabouts. He adds she is just in denial that EJ is the one who put Rafe in the hospital. Gabi appears in a blue dress and numbly notes he thinks EJ did it. Sami gasps Lucas is biased as he loathes EJ. She urges the girl to let the police do the investigating. Gabi admits she is scared. Meanwhile, a hand at the coffee house holds the article about Rafe still clinging to life. Ominous music plays. The man in the dark shoes and pants angrily crumples the paper, shoves it in the trash, and goes on his way, his footsteps swift and purposeful ... - Hope is in her office, sadly looking at Rafe’s badge. Woman in red Kate arrives and asks if she found the s.o.b. responsible. The sultry detective is working on it and wants to go over her statement, since she initially failed to mention that she and Rafe were lovers! Kate gets haughty. She did not consider her romance relevant. Hope quips she does not get to decide what is relevant to her investigation. Did she not remember how DiMera men deal with romantic rivals? Kate explains Stefano did not know until she told him! Hope does not think that was a smart move. Kate confirms it was when she confronted him about Rafe’s attack and he was genuinely surprised. Hope suggests he was faking. But ex-wife Kate knows him well enough to have perceived that he was hiding his rage over the fact that he did not have the chance to hurt Rafe himself! She suggests she speak with Sami and EJ, who were also present in the room. She will indeed, for she has more questions than answers. - Outside, Marlena reminds John they just got remarried. He talks clean break. Things changed. She exclaims it is Kristen.That is the thing that has changed! John drawls she is right but they made choices that unintentionally hurt each other. It should end. She deserves better. Marlena suddenly slap him across the face and cries not to play noble with her now. She is disgusted! The man of action she fell in love with is gone, it seems. She cannot even bear to look at him and storms off. John peers after her, his heart breaking. He races after her, catching up with her at the pretty town gate, and agrees they owe it to each other to talk. He holds her arm and murmurs he cannot go on this way. Marlena cries it is all her fault for sinking to Kristen’s level. John wants her to stop. She cries she accepts he cannot forgive her. He starts to stop her, then whispers he is sorry. Kristen now walks up. Marlena thinks things just got worse and unhappily departs. Kristen sarcastically notes there seems to be trouble in paradise. John informs her they are divorcing and she must know why. They both do! Kristen calls it ironic that he is ending his marriage the day before she begins her happily ever after. She wishes him better luck finding a more stable partner and flounces off. John sighs. Cowboy Brady appears and announces they need to talk. - Jen updates Dan on JJ being kicked out of school, hence the tension. Dan is sympathetic and he also understands if his presence is an issue for the teen. Jen jokes it might get harder. He praises her as a mom and she changes the subject. She has downloaded some rhymes for Parker. Dan will download it on his mp3 player. JJ creeps downstairs and eavesdrops. Dan teases Jen that his mp3 player is all he would need on a deserted island, plus her! They kiss. JJ stares. He is dressed for a run and claims to need an mp3 player. Dan offers him his own, which he used to train for the iron man in Hawaii. JJ thanks him and grins. They are now on a first name basis, but his intentions with the mp3 player that means much to the medicine man are less than honorable ... - Sami has just been summoned down to the police station and Lucas notes EJ wants an alibi. Sami implores him to keep Gabi calm but he continues to insist EJ did it and she knows it is the truth, hence her protests. Sami pouts and walks off.
