Episode 12,084 - JJ greets Will greets JJ with a Hortonesque hug at the coffee house. Sonny is friendly too. JJ notes they are an item and Will came out, as Abigail said. They wonder if he has a problem with it. He thinks it is great. Will wishes his other cousin was as accepting. He is of course referring to nefarious Nick. JJ calls Nick a loser. Nearby, stylish Abigail is on the phone confirming a date with Cam. She flounces back to the guys and wonders what they are discussing. They were catching up. Hope arrives with fanfare and an order. Plus she has qestions for newbie JJ and ushers him out to talk. Will faces Sonny and quietly wonders whether Nick has managed to stop Rafe from telling Gabi the truth. Sonny doubts it. That Nick is going down. - At DiMera mansion, ponytail Sami demands Stefano tell her which chess piece in his game is her son Will! He casually wonders what is botherrrrring her. She wants to know why he did not destroy the evidence. He growls she tried to steal it from his man first! She counters she was a concerned mother. He grumbles no mother interferes in his business! She should not have interfered, He insists he did the right thing. Sami appreciates what he has done for Will and assumed family meant everything. Stefano warns her that her past track record made him decide to keep the evidence, just in case. He places a chess piece in her hand, grins it is her, and departs. Sami is none too pleased to see the white pawn. She sticks out her chin. - At the pub, EJ righteously informs Kate that violence seldom solves problems. She laughs at the irony of his statement. He is distracted by his phone. Nearby, pregnant Gabi wonders where oh where Nick and Rafe are and places a call. Meanwhile, Rafe weakly looks up as a phone rings and rings and sees the hand, the blue sleeve of his attacker, who kicks and attacks him with a vengeance in the alley. Then it all goes black! Back at the pub, Kate pokes fun at EJ’s platitudes. He reminds her of her own unsavory past. She calls marrying Stefano unsavory and he sarcastically calls her bitta. She grimaces she could not care less about his illustrious father. He now accuses her of pushing Sami to shoot Stefano. She muses if Sami did shoot Stefano, it would be karmic justice. EJ sternly states a stray bullet could hit one of the children. Gabi the waitress now asks if she can get them something. They say no and EJ steps away to take a call. Gabi sits down and brings up Rafe. Kate uncomfortably decides it is time to go, Meanwhile, EJ is frowning and texting. Something is clearly not good. He notices tired Gabi and urges her to sit down. He compliments her and William as fantastic future parents, then gets a call. "Is it done? Good." The call is over. Gabi has stood up. EJ pleasantly asks her to let Rafe know he was here and walks off into the night. Gabi just wishes Rafe were here. - Kayla and Maxine have news for Cam at the hospital. Kayla happily informs him that he has been chosen as the new resident liaison. He is honored. Maxine adds he earned it and gets paged away. Cam gushes and promises Kayla his dancing career is over. She thinks that is good, though her mother will be disappointed. He flashes a charming smile. He promptly calls Abe with the good news and they agree to get together for Theo soon. A few minutes later, Abe runs into Kayla at the town square. She sings the praises of brother-in-law Cam and calls him gifted. Abe notes Lexie would be proud. Kayla is sympathetic. It has been almost a year since he lost Lexie. The former mayor turned Salem P.D. consultant sighs it will be a year next month. He and Theo are hanging in there. He admits he almost tried to call Lexie the other day to update her on Theo’s progress. Kayla gives him a hug and assures him he is a good father and Theo is a wonderful boy. Abe is touched. - Rafe has been kicked and beaten until no more breaths or groans come from his bloodied lips. The lanky loon attacker with the blue shirt, dark pants and shoes picks up his blue bag with a Betty’s muffin, and walks away. Kate comes around the corner and cries when she beholds the sight. She calls 911. "A police officer has been attacked!" She gasps to hurry and attends to her beloved. Sirens approach and she begs him to hang on. She sobs she does not know what she will do if anything happens to him! - Hope is at the coffee house, telling JJ they must all get together, then is called away on unexpected police business. She is on her way! JJ continues to pretend he got off school early in the UK as Sonny probes. He departs with Abigail. Sonny and Will make their plans for the night. Will suggests they head to the pub for a meal and some entertainment as they watch Rafe bounce Nick on the bar floor. Sounds like a plan! They get to the pub, as Gabi anxiously wonders where Nick and Rafe are. Nick now races in wearing his blue shirt, out of breath. He hopes she is okay. She notices he is perspiring profusely. He hands her the bag with the muffin treat. Gabi is surprised as this was exactly what she asked Rafe for from Martha’s Muffins. What a coincidence! Sonny and Will exchange a nervous glance. Something is not right! - Meanwhile, Kate watches helplessly as Rafe is wheeled into the hospital on a gurney. The paramedic informs Dr. Kayla there is internal damage and the bleeding would not stop. He also stopped breathing but they got him going again. Hope is on her phone, apologizing to Ciara that she will be home too late to pick her up. An officer was hurt. She loves her and will see her in the morning. "Sweet dreams." But nothing is sweet at the hospital. Maxine pages Dr. Davis. Kate implores the nurse for an update. Hope spies her and realizes she was the one who found the officer. Kate laments it was no ordinary officer, it was Rafe. Hope stares in horror. In the room, Kayla is working on Rafe, and has ordered blood. His MRI and CAT scan are on the system. She and Maxine discover he sustained damage on the skull, a deep concussion, bruised ribs, one broken, and a punctured lung. Maxine wonders what kind of animal would do this. Kayla expresses her concern that he might never wake up to tell them! - EJ returns home to the mansion and finds angry Sami with the pawn. He berates her for confronting fatha. There are other ways! She exclaims he has the evidence. He calmly assures her things are fine and Nick Fallon will not pose a problem for much longer. He takes dahling in his arms. Sami wonders what he means. - Gabi gets a shocking call from Hope, who does not mince words. It is official police business. She wants to know who is with her. Nick, Sonny, Will.
