Episode 12,046 - At the town square, Jen has approached Dan and Parker and has asked Dan for a word. Just to talk about their relationship and also Chloe. Dan pauses. If they are civil, fine. She sits and explains she would wait until they could be alone but she feels the urgency to set things straight. She keeps her voice soft so as not to upset the boy. Dan explains Chloe told him some things and he would appreciate clarification on Jen’s reaction toward him. Jen explains she was upset. Dan does not want to rehash as he did not reciprocate. He assumes they are talking about the fact that Chloe tried to kiss him. He adds he is no longer mad at anyone. Jen stares and hears him out. Dan explains he must deal with the mother of his child and yet Jen continues to doubt him. She quips she only doubts that woman from his past. Dan now declares this is probably really about the late Jack. Jen woefully shakes her head. He points out it was complicated when Jack was alive and is even more complicated now that he is gone. One does not just jump back into a relationship. Jen agrees. Dan notes he had been with Nicole and Jen was grateful he saved her life. It made her feel she owed him. Jen implores him to stop for this makes no sense. He reasons things happened too fast and she was not ready for their romance. He also suspects she fears she is betraying Jack and is using Chloe as an excuse to push him away. - At the apartment, diva Chloe reminds fancy Nancy that Jen flies off the handle whenever she sees Dan nowadays so he will likely never learn what she did! Besides, he has that San Francisco conference to attend. Knock knock! Maggie shows up in her stylish white pantsuit and coldly informs Chloe she has her number. She will not get away with her shenanigans! Nancy will have none of it. Chloe assures her this will not take long. Exit irate Nancy. Maggie announces she knows her son does not love her and she will not allow her to hurt him again! She accuses her of having an agenda. It is to break up love birds Dan and Jen! Chloe retorts Maggie’s agenda is to play matchmaker for Dan and the fair widow, even though they are not meant to be! The redhead exclaims she is the only problem and one day she will be out on her perky posterior! Exit Maggie. Chloe the schemestress muses they will see about that! Meanwhile, Nancy is at the town square and watches Jen and Dan together. She smiles upon seeing Jen’s sad little face. Dan decides to go get ready for his flight. He picks up his son and his bag. Jen gets teary eyed about him walking away. He thinks she asked him to and maybe it is what they both need. He drawls to take care and is gone. Jen sits and shuts her eyes, her Horton heart breaking. Nancy watches with a devious smile. - At the hospital, pretty Abigail stares and then quietly closes the door, unseen, as the thug counts Cam’s money. Anne approaches. Abigail refuses to get out of her path and Anne snaps the Hortons do not own the place. Abigail calls her a bitch and storms off. Anne follows. Meanwhile the heavyset thug warns Cam not to be late again and they go their separate ways. Naerby Anne warns Abigail that she actually attacked her bff Chloe. If her name were not Horton, she would surely be in jail! She is even worse than her mommy! Cam intervenes and demands to know what the hell is going on. Anne now turns her wrath on Cam, who was related to Lexie. How convenient! He has DiMera ties! Cam warns her to chose her words more carefully or he just might use those DiMera connections! - Kristen sits alone at the ornate DiMera mansion and flashes back to John breaking her heart once upon a time. She will make him experience his own pain now. She pours herself vodka and EJ enters, noting it is ratha early in the day for hard liquor. He intends to stay sober when he speaks to fatha. Kristen quips he is not home. EJ suggests some brotha sista bonding, in that case, and wonders why she is about to jump out of her skin. He knows John Black is back in town. He grins when she asks how he knew, for nothing escapes his notice. He deduces the return of papa pawn must complicate things with Brady. He smoothly suggests she consider it an opportunity. Kristen gets sarcastic and drowns her sorrows. EJ now informs her he has invited Samantha to move in and grins she did not say no ... He is very optimistic. Kristen lists all the people who might be moving in, from Chad and Brady to EJ and Sami. She makes a remark about Sami baring her claws. EJ is more interested in his sister’s mysterious agenda with Brady. Are they truly in love or is she up to something? She drinks up and drawls if he does not stand in the way of her agenda, she will not stand in the way of his. EJ gets a twinkle in his eye. And wot if his agenda is to marry the fair Samantha? Kristen promises she would not do anything though she does admit she had thought she would get to the altar faster. EJ gets back to the topic of her love interest. She gets sarcastic about Sami’s wedding history. EJ can see right through her attempt to change the subject anytime he mentions the B word - Brady! He cares about his sister and complains he knows precious little about her. She sounds scripted most of the time and rarely lets down her guard. In fact, he originally thought she was using Brady, yet now she sounds like she really cares. How do things stand? She alludes to the fact that she is not even sure herself and snaps it is not his business. - Marlena and John are back on track as he comes clean about duping Kristen and Brady about giving the likes of Kristen DiMera a chance. However, Brady is at the slightly open door! John opens it all the way. Brady's eyes flicker. John peers at him. Marlena looks worried. Brady calls it a surprise to see them together. John plays it cool. Brady saunters in and notes they are in a better place, John and Marlena. He brings up tonight’s dinner and hopes they can all start acting like a family again. The blonde gushes that would mean much. John folds his arms and drawls he and doc still have more taking to do and suggests just he and Kristen dine with Brady this time. Marlena agrees. Brady wants to thank his father for not playing him and for stepping up to try and accept Kristen. He spoke with Maggie, who helped him see the light. He proudly shows Marlena the gondola plaque from his father. He only wants to feel he belongs in the family. John puts his hand on his shoulder and assures him he does. He also hopes that this dinner will mark the beginning of them resolving their issues. Brady suddenly glares daggers at him. “You lying son of a bitch ..." Oh oh!
