Tis John and Marlena elegant in black. John wishes they could make it easier. Marlena is sympathetic for his loss and suffering. Abe sighs he is not ready to say goodbye to the love of his life. John thinks he should take it one day at a time. Abe relaxes with his close friends. He fondly recalls how Lexie was the one who selected this very tie. It is the first time he is wearing it and he hopes she knows. Marlena is sure that she does. John praises it as a great tie. Abe the lost soul confides he stayed awake last night, waiting and waiting but his Lexie was nowhere. He mentions the special minutes they used to have together and admits he now regrets not knowing their special time would be limited. Marlena assures him he made the most of the time they had. Abe starts to cry he does not even know who he is without his Lexie! - Replay of Brady bursting into Ian’s office, threatening to kill the son of a bitch. He knows what he did! Ian plays innocent. Brady grabs him by the lapels and accuses him of slipping him drugs. Ian denies the charge and condescendingly suggests he calm down. Brad growls he must admit it! Ian threatens to call security. Brady releases him and grumbles he could not stand to see them happy. Ian asks if he is high. Yes, thanks to him! He wants to know how he got the drugs in his system. Ian taunts him for being paranoid. Brady suspects he went after him because he stole his girl. Ian claims he gave her to him. He now has his business and the love of his life while he gets to sit back and watch Brady messing things up with Madison. He could not be happier! Brady leers he intends to bring him down for he has evidence. The drug test shows he has drugs in his system though he has not used in years. He repeats Ian set him up. Ian sarcastically confesses he has been sticking him with needles. Brady is not amused. He will have the last laugh! Ian advises him to stay off the drugs. “I have heard that they KILL!” he ominously gloats. - ISA Spencer and Rafe are surprised when Roman enters the office, announcing a judge he knows might do them a favor and get them that warrant. Rafe is excited at the prospect. He is convinced this will be the break they need to prove EJ killed Stefano. Spencer would rather focus on all the suspects. He warns Rafe that EJ might not be their man. Rafe gets testy that he thinks he is not being objective. Roman intervenes but agrees they do need to be unbiased and look at the evidence. Spencer has been following up on others and has discovered some intriguing history. There is a rumor that Marlena put Stefano in a coma years back and she shot him years ago as well. Roman becomes defensive. Spencer muses Stefano’s death could be history repeating itself. Roman tensely purses his lips. - Nicole conceals the bullets behind her back. EJ wants to know what she is doing. She should be resting. She claims she is better and was looking for tea. He perceives she is hiding something but she says she is not. He wonders why she is acting like that. She makes light of passing out and wonders if he got dessert for her. She is elated to hear he has Caroline’s famous carrot cake. He turns away to select some silverware. Nicole sits on the couch and sneakily slides the box of bullets into her handbag, smiling she feels much better! - At Abe’s request, John and Marlena are picking flowers from the garden. Marlena misses her friend. They sit and John laments it is tough to see Abraham in this state. Marlena notes it is important to allow him to experience his emotions. John get choked up as he recounts how he once thought Marlena was dead. Thank God she was not. He caresses her face and she whispers they always find their way back together. “Always,” he agrees as a lone tear trickles down his noble cheek. - Nicole insists EJ share the cake with her. She now wonders what he intends to do with the apartment, as he inherits everything. EJ points out the kids live across the hall so he will keep this place. Nicole makes a snide remark so he reminds her they are supposed to have a truce. He remembers the last time she was having funny food cravings. There was that burrito with maple syrup. Nicole woefully admits those memories are all she has left of that pregnancy. All of a sudden she feels the baby kick for the first time and instinctively places EJ’s hands on her stomach. EJ finds it amazing. She agrees it is the best! The kicking ceases. EJ is at a loss for words. Nicole is moved, as she never thought she would feel this again. She wonders what would have been if their baby had survived. EJ now remembers she lied about the miscarriage. Nicole does not want to argue but he declares she lied to him then, she is lying to him now, and he will not stand for it! Last time she lied about giving him a child, whereas she presently is lying to take his child. She gets up to leave. EJ apologizes, then explains he has forgiven her. So why bring it up? He feels they are back at the same place. This could finally be their golden opportunity to have their family. He loves her and if she admits this is his baby, they will have their happy family. He places his arms around in an embrace. Nicole hugs him back, then stops. She sadly states she keeps telling him the truth though he will not listen and exits. EJ frowns and watches her leave. - Marlena believes she is alone in the garden. She calls out for John, her voice filed with fear. He places a hand on her shoulder and she jumps. He breathes he is always there, even when she cannot see him. He has picked her a red rose, which reminds him of her. Beautiful, strong, and sharp. She believes she is none of those things without him and breaks down about Lexie being gone. John sagely states Lexie has not left, for she is in the garden, in the house with Theo, and all around them. She nods he is right, tears streaming down her face. John calls marrying her the rightest thing he has ever done. They exchange I love yous and a tender kiss. - Kayla arrives at the Carver residence with something for Abe. Tis an envelope with a present from Lexie. John and Marlena return in time to see Abe with the dvd. They offer to give him some privacy. He would rather they stay as he cannot face this message from Lexie alone.
