THE HEAT IS ON!

- Replay of EJ facing Will as the one who posted his bail. Will stares. EJ gives him a cold, hard look. Will is baffled. EJ calls him a free man. Will wonders if he has his job back too. EJ warns him that he is not in the mood to make amends. In fact, there are conditions attached! Will gets nervous. EJ gets sarcastic. Will hopefully notes he must know he did not shoot Stefano. EJ quips this gesture merely serves his purposes. “I help you, you help me. I do something for you and you do anything for me. Once again William, I OWN you!” Will informs him in that case, he does not need his help, as his folks can get him out. EJ smoothly states the D.A. is building a case, though there are holes in it. They would need to prove he could use a firearm and might have a reason for wanting fatha Stefano dead. Will claims he had no reason to want him dead. EJ casually suggests the jury finding out he tried to kill him once upon a time would be very damning, as would the fact that Stefano was blackmailing him over it. Will naively calls that unfair. He cannot blackmail him twice
over the same thing. EJ chuckles there is no statute of limitation on his blackmail. Will reasons he did not shoot Stefano so if he gets put away, the real murderer will walk free. EJ remarks he might indeed be his killer. Will now realizes he really only just cares about getting what he wants.
EJ smirks they are finally starting to understand one anotha.
- John makes a snide remark when Commissioner Roman and the shadowing lady cop drop by. Marlena points out they already did as he requested with the gunpowder residue test. Roman admits they both passed with flying colors. He is here to inform them they have arrested a suspect – Will!  Marlena gasps. John cannot believe it and scoffs. Roman lists the evidence, including the fact that Will failed the gunpowder test. It proves he fired a gun. Marlena insists her grandson did not kill Stefano and she would stake her life on it! Roman questions whether she knows who else did it in that case. John sarcastically suggests he arrest the two
of them instead. Marlena echoes the senitment. Roman replies that he is following police procedure to the letter. And this is serious! Stefano’s murder is big news and they cannot afford to make a mistake. The governor’s office is breathing down his neck. Marlena claims Roman has already made a big mistake. Roman argues that in the eyes of the law he
is sworn to uphold, Will looks guilty. John deduces he really just came over to shock then into confessing. Roman emphasizes that he is brutally honest and is not playing games with them. He is upset too and adds
every conversation he has had with loved ones has led him to believe that someone is lying to him. If they have anything to share, they should do it now! Ring ring. Roman now receives word that Will’s bail was posted … by EJ! Marlena is confused why he would do such a thing. Roman drawls that is a good question. He implies there could be a conspiracy. Will was working for junior. Marlena impatiently insists EJ fired Will and the boy could not hurt anyone!
- At the pub, Sami laments she feels she does not know her son anymore. Lucas repeats they must protect him. She agrees Lucas reminds her not
to ever tell anyone that Will shot EJ. Rafe approaches their table. Sami nervously wonders how long he has been there. “Long enough!” He only knows they were talking about Will. Sami gasps that Rafe must help Will upon hearing he was just reinstated by the police force. Rafe does not think it is so simple. However, he does not believe Will is a killer and he intends to keep looking for whoever the killer is. He suggests Sami call Carrie to act as his lawyer. Sami pouts she will not be getting the likes of her involved! They have decided on legal eagle Justin, who is tied up in court. Rafe agrees he is good, but not a criminal lawyer. He points out he does corporate law. Meanwhile Will needs to be bailed out so they should really call Carrie. Sami snaps she got her law degree in Switzerland in two months. Besides, she does not trust her. Rafe acknowledges that Sami
still harbors resentment. However, he and Carrie never happened, as she is with Austin. Sami is suspicious of his motives. Things get more heated. Lucas tries to intervene. Rafe accuses Sami of thinking of herself, like usual. Sami gets huffy. “How dare you!” She is on her son’s side and he will beat this. She and Lucas start to leave. Rafe now gets a message that Will made bail. Lucas assumes it was the work of Justin. The three head for the police station …
- EJ reminds Will of all the perks and power he enjoyed while working
for him. Will asks to be put back on the payroll, in that case. EJ refuses, as he betrayed his trust. It will take a long time to win it back. Will argues Stefano was blackmailing him so he had no choice. EJ lectures him for
not coming to him when fatha threatened him. Will argues that it was blackmail, like what he is now doing to him. EJ concludes he bet on the wrong horse, for Stefano is out and he is now in. “Tough luck!” Will wonders why he expects him to take this. Because he happens to hold all the cards. Will smirks. “Not exactly.” In fact, he himself discovered some things that Mr. Mayor would not want made public ...!
