He is asleep, but she daydreams of making love with shirtless Rafe, feeling the passion. Back to reality. She sighs and gives her sleeping, unsuspecting husband a dismal glance. She gets out of bed and he stirs. “Come back to bed!” Carrie claims she has too many things to do today. Austin makes eyes and assures her he only wants to talk. She teases it must be more than talk that he wants. Austin sits up and kisses her neck, calling it illegal to be so beautiful. - Madison rushes about the hotel room, leaving desperate messages for Brady. He has been gone all night and she is frantic! She begs him to just call. She now grabs her keys and handbag and races out. She shows up at the Kiriakis mansion and pours out her heart to Maggie, who was not available to take Brady’s call the previous night. She tries to make crying Madison feel better. Maggie assures her that this is not her fault. “Brady is an addict!” Madison does not want to believe it is true. - Brady is in a motel bathroom, trying not to give into temptation. He approaches the cocaine which is on a book perched on the sink and sends it flying, gasping and perspiring like a junky. He then reaches for some of the powder on the floor and is about to sue it when he catches his reflection in the mirror. Not liking what he sees, he washes the angel dust down the drain. - Shirtless Dan and Nicole wake up in bed nekid bed together and he calls her the sexiest girl. He likes the fact that she does not play games. They get back to making out. Knock knock, Tis Rafe! Nicole ties her robe, pretties herself, and opens the door. Dan stares realizing she is not acting like this is any ordinary visitor. She opens the door less than a foot. Rafe has picked up vitamins for her from the pharmacy. She thanks him. He wonders what is the matter. Dan listens from the bed. Nicole claims she is feeling unsociable as mornings are hard for pregnant women. Rafe is sorry he interrupted her. She thanks him again for the vitamins. He hopes she will feel better and grins she looks great. She coyly promises to call him and closes the door. Dan bitterly drawls she sure seemed sociable to him – before Rafe showed up! She flirts where were they and wants to get back into bed. Dan, however, explains he is not in the mood and has come to his senses. He is no longer under her spell and proceeds to get dressed. Nicole wonders what sent wrong. Dan sits and informs her he learned the hard way this past year that two guys and one girl will not work. He refuses to be anyone’s backup plan! Nicole’s face falls. - Will is standing over EJ’s shoulder watching him work at the mansion. EJ notes power really just means a lot of paperwork. They rehash Will’s power play and EJ warns him the prey is most dangerous when backed into a corner! Will thinks he has leveled the playing field and assures him he does not want to blow him out of the water. EJ drawls bravado shows a lack of confidence. Will claims he wants to help him. EJ sarcastically notes that is very thoughtful. He pours them both a coffee. Flunky Will boldly broaches the subject of Rafe’s insistence he take the lie detector test. EJ hands him a coffee and replies it will not happen but Will reasons everyone assumes he is like his father. His being a murder suspect makes them uncomfortable and hurts the ability of the company to move ahead in the new century. Therefore, he really should take the test. EJ patiently explains it is too complex for William to comprehend. Will quips it would make him look guilty as sin if he did not take the test and word eventually got out he was not even Stefano’s son. EJ believes the upstart adolescent is trying to posture. Will claims to see the situation clearly. He could end up in jail for Stefano’s murder whether or not he is guilty if he does not look after himself. EJ considers, then drinks more coffee at his desk. “Trust me, William, I am not going to jail. I am innocent!” Will argues then he should take the test. EJ talks legal complications and Rafe and his band of merry men wanting to pin something on him. Will suggests he be careful with the cops but still do it. One can always watch what one says. EJ refuses to give the police ammunition. Will boasts their ammunition is incomplete without the card he happens to be holding. EJ warns him not to make matters worse. Will points out the other suspects seem innocent. EJ snaps they are mostly related to the bloody police commissioner. Will notes if he passes the test, Rafe will have to withdraw and the governor will not let him pursue this. EJ concedes he might have a valid point and chuckles. The mayor has changed his mind … - Dan fastens his belt and Nicole stammers she does not understand what he means. Rafe just brought her vitamins. Did she hurt his feelings? She did not want Rafe to see what they share as it is private. Dan points out she checked her hair and makeup before opening the door. She explains it away as vanity. Dan laments they seemed to have some honesty but now he is not so sure. Nicole is almost in tears and insists she has been honest with him. He suggests she has not even been honest with herself. “I’ll see you around.” He slams the door behind himself. And so the siren regroups … - Madison sits on the elegant sofa with Maggie and admits she does not get this. She worries that her not believing in Brady led him to use again. Maggie enlightens her. Brady comes with baggage. She hopes he is not guilting her into keeping secrets, for it will blow up sooner or later. Madison realizes the redhead is one tough cookie. She is indeed, as is Brady, for they cannot sugarcoat things or demand their loved ones pretend all is well when it is not. Even when Brady is in recovery, he is still an addict. There are no guarantees. Madison sniffles she gets it. Maggie now wants her to ask herself whether she loves him enough to be there no matter what transpires.
