Will repeats he knows for a fact that Stefano is not the father and EJ is no DiMera! EJ turns around, speechless. He takes a moment to regain his composure and suggests Will get his facts straight. Such wild accusations! The claim is highly inaccurate, not to mention insulting. Will, however, has not made it up. EJ warns him to cease and desist. Will taunts him that he intends to use the intel to his own advantage! EJ dismisses him as foolish. Will is sitting on the desk and he smugly tells him he found the letter. EJ realizes the drawer has indeed been emptied and stares darkly. Will is amused. “Who’s foolish now, Elvis!” EJ wants to know what he will be doing with this. Will explains he could keep it a secret and muses Stefano will not be telling anyone. EJ growls he is on thin ice. He is not amused. Will notes he is acting like nothing has changed. EJ tries to pretend it has not. Will, however, knows such sensitive information could be dangerous. It could even be a motive for murder! EJ now assumes he thinks he killed his fatha. Will argues Stefano was not his father but EJ insists he was indeed. Will points out the police would not see it that way. EJ wants to cut to the chase. WOT does he WONT! Will makes it clear that he has no interest in a trade. He has no intention of handing over the letter as he suspects EJ would go back on his word. He was the one who taught him never to give up one’s leverage! EJ grows impatient of the games and asks what he wants. His car and his apartment. EJ gets the keys from the drawer and arrogantly drops them on the floor. Anything else? An official position in the company plus an attractive salary. So be it. EJ assumes they are done. Will quips he is just getting started! EJ blinks. - Chad sits on the town square sofa with Gabi, complaining it is tough to focus. He and Mel were supposed to watch the fireworks at the park tonight. She is sorry. Chad is shocked she did not call him back after he left a message about Lexie passing. He hopes nothing bad has happened and picks up his phone. Gabi assures him this is not his fault and he did already apologize to her. Gabi’s phone now rings. Chad wonders who it is. Gabi gets tight lipped. He hopes it is not the creep who was stalking her before … - Masked Andrew enters woeful Mel’s room as she lounges on the bed, her eyes red. He brings some reading material and warns she is going nowhere. She sadly wonders if he means ever. He has newspapers, magazines, and herbal tea to calm her nerves. He pours her a cup and suggests she be careful, for it is hot. She wants to go home. Andrew ignores the plea. He has seen the playlist on her phone and notes they like the same kind of music. He offers to make her a playlist. Mel picks up the paper and is dismayed to discover it is already July 4. She reads the headline about Lexie’s death and becomes frantic. She must be there for Chad in his hour of need! She begs him to let her go. No can do. She calls him a coward for hiding behind the mask and wants to know what comes next. He bellows at her to stop it and drink the tea. Mel gingerly raises the cup. Andrew is ready to depart. Mel creeps up behind him as he unlocks the door and throws the hot tea in his face. He is momentarily overcome but then grabs her and drags her back to the bed, putting more chloroform on her mouth, thus rendering her unconscious. - Rafe grins he is glad to see Carrie as they stand at the park. He has something he wanted to tell her. She also has something to say. Rafe appears hopeful. Carrie lets him go first. Rafe tenderly tells her he saw Sami earlier and understands she gave her a hard time. Carrie assures him she informed Sami he was not the father of her baby. Rafe lets her know he does not mind and advised Sami to stop giving her sister grief. Carrie is sorry she took out her anger towards her on him. Sami was just trying to hurt him. She assumes that her head almost exploded when she thought it was Rafe’s baby, as she still believes Nicole’s baby is his. Rafe tries to make light of it but does not succeed. So many misunderstandings these past few months! Carrie bravely nods. - EJ sarcastically asks WOT else young William would like and sits back down at his desk. Will remarks he taught him the value of something. EJ drawls it was certainly not loyalty. Nope. Will announces what he is after. POWER! - Carrie laments to Rafe about things being unresolved. Rafe can relate and sighs one day all their plans changed. - Gabi stammers she has not heard from the stalker. Her friend Megan wanted to meet her. Chad offers to walk her. Gabi insists she will be fine meeting her at the bookstore. Getting the cops involved must have scared off her stalker. Chad agrees. Perhaps the time has come for her to move back into her apartment. She appears disappointed. He suggests they go to the bookstore now. - EJ chuckles and wants to know whether Will wants the deed to the house or access to all his accounts. Will explains to him power means the ability to control one’s destiny as well as the fate of someone else. EJ deduces that is how he feels right now - that he controls his fate. Will eagerly nods. “It feels pretty good!” - Mel is dreaming. She dreams that Andrew has tied her up when Chad the hero storms in, knocks him out with a blow, and wakes her up. “You found me!” she whispers and they embrace like they do in the movies. But reality is not the movies and in reality, Mel is fast asleep as Andrew her captor watches through the peephole. His attention turns to Gabi, who comes down the stairs and gets snarky about him bothering her. He declares he knows what her stalker will be doing next, just as she asked! She suddenly decides she wants something simple this time and it should happen today. Andrew is curious about the rush. - Rafe tells Carrie this is all so unfair. She admits it is so hard to try and move on. Rafe gazes into her eyes and once more apologizes for Sami’s behavior . She smiles she is used to it. He hopes it will not happen again. She gazes into his eyes and looks ready to cry. He decides he should leave but she stops him by announcing she has something to tell him. She updates him on the baby appointment with Austin at the doctor’s. They heard their baby’s fast little heartbeat. Carrie starts to cry. Rafe wishes she would be happy. Carrie stands up and exclaims she cannot do this anymore. It is not fair to any of them! This is Austin’s baby and that is why she cannot be near Rafe. She cannot deal with this. He is sympathetic. - EJ patiently informs William that despite what he may be holding over someone’s head, that kind of power cannot be handed to him. It is simply not within his reach. Will accuses him of taking his future away from him, who he could be. EJ wonders who he wanted to be. Will bashfully admits he wanted to be him. EJ is flattered, yet how on earth did he expect that to happen? Will implores him to make him his right-hand man. EJ grins and notes he truly is his motha’s son. Will insists he wants to be just like EJ. EJ praises his ambition and tries to explain he is not him, he is not a DiMera. Will snaps neither is he! “You’re a nobody, same as me.” How ironic that the DiMera Empire would be run by two individuals who have not a drop of DiMera blood in them.
