EJ elegantly comes down the stairs and takes a business phone call. He gets off the phone in the foyer and saunters into the living room. Will is still standing at the desk, staring numbly ahead as he digests the scandalous intel. EJ wonders WOT he is doing. Will conceals the letter. He turns around and pretends he thought he would need his phone, which is why he became distracted. EJ now orders him to pick up a package containing a great deal of money. He gets testy when the boy questions him. Will sarcastically adds he knows better than to question a DiMera. EJ coldly states his job is to follow his orders, no questions asked, but Will argues he would still like to know more. He yearns to be more involved in the business. EJ points out the less he knows, the more productive he can be. Will thinks he has already learned much. EJ gets back to his computer and doubts the lad is sufficiently savvy to pull anything off despite having learned a few tricks. He condescendingly quips a little help can be a dangerous thing and sends him on his way. Exit Will. Outside the grand DiMera front door, he checks the letter is still in his jacket pocket. It is indeed so he merrily departs. - Love struck Austin meets Carrie at the pub. She complains that Sami was unkind as she seemed to suspect Austin was not the father of her baby. Austin gets serious. He wonders what Sami’s problem is now. Is she not content being with Lucas? Carrie notes she always blames others for her actions. Austin recalls that their marriage survived Kristen. They can survive anything! He muses Carrie must be at the top of Sami’s imaginary enemies list. Carrie claims she is partially to blame, due to the Rafe situation. Austin reminds her they both made mistakes. Carrie insists she never slept with him. Austin lovingly assures her he is already aware of that fact. They are okay! Carrie confesses she had feelings for him when they kissed, though. Austin pleasantly points out their marriage was on shaky ground. That was then, this is now. Carrie frowns she is not sure she deserves his forgiveness. Austin sighs. “It’s because you still have feelings for Rafe, isn’t it?” - Rafe explains to hurricane Sami that he happens to be working. She suspects he did not tell her Carrie was pregnant as he is the father and says so! Rafe exclaims he is not the father for they never slept together. Sami stares. “Not even once?” Rafe points out she was married. Sami points out they kissed. Rafe thinks she has her nerve, given that she slept with EJ. Sami snaps he slept with Nicole! Rafe still thinks she has some nerve. Sami admits she made a mistake but they could have found a way to save their marriage. Rafe agrees maybe if she had told him about EJ. Sami complains maybe if he had not wanted to end their marriage for Carrie then their marriage would have been salvageable. Rafe wonders what the point of all this even is. Their marriage is over and she is with Lucas now. Sami, however, demands he admit he at least had a part in their failed marriage. She will not leave until he says so. Rafe looks her in the eye and confesses he was wrong to have feelings for Carrie. He is sorry. Sami is disappointed that is all. Rafe gets impatient. Sami repeats is he really not the father? Exasperated Rafe exclaims “I never got her pregnant!” Enter EJ, all ears. “Is that so!” Rafe chuckles he was referring to Carrie. He now reminds Sami to leave. She sticks out her chin. Rafe warns her that he is done with his personal life but EJ snaps they are not for he keeps claiming to be the fatha of his child. Rafe calls that EJ’s conspiracy theory and offers to set him up on the lie detector test. EJ is there in his mayoral capacity, to talk budget with Roman. Roman is not present so Rafe presses him to take the test. Sami watches as EJ growls he does not have a single shred of evidence to link him to his fatha’s murder. There shall be no test! - Dan and Nicole wake up in her bed together. She is surprised he spent the whole night. Shirtless Dan talks the next time. Nicole thinks her life is a mess. Dan now learns that she and Rafe never slept together. He just pretended they did in order to keep EJ at bay. Dan appears pleased. He is glad he and Nicole wound up together and kisss her passionately. Afterwards, Nicole gushes she loves his house calls. They are both out of breath. He teases the lab coat works with women every time. Today is the doctor's day off. He suggests treating her to brunch at Chez Rouge. Nicole thinks they could go to a diner. Dan is aware that she appreciates the finer things in life. The topic of Victor comes up. Nicole knows he must have called her a gold digger. Dan did not believe it. Nicole makes light of Victor’s insults and they kiss yet again. Once they are at Chez Rouge, Nicole notes Victor is not the only person who has said unkind things about her. She is a survivor. As she sips her orange juice, Dan warns her that changing a paternity test is not as tough as raising a child alone. She knows it will not be easy to be a single parent, though she will not have her child raised a DiMera. Perhaps someone will eventually be with her. They smile at each other. Dan praises her as a woman who would stop at nothing to protect her baby! Chloe was thinking mainly of herself with her paternal deception, but Nicole is truly putting her baby first. Nicole boasts she is self-sufficient. Dan does not doubt it. Nicole suddenly sighs that getting together after a rebound could be asking for trouble. Dan teases they both like trouble. She teases their date started yesterday. She wonders why he gets involved with all his patients and lists them. Dan gets a tad uncomfortable, then admits he did not originally want anything complicated, which was why he gravitated towards those women. Nicole is amused that he is now hooking up with her, seeing as he wanted to avoid complications! - Austin assures Carrie he believes she will get over her feelings for Rafe. As long as she does, it will be fine. She is grateful and relieved. He ushers her to their doctor’s appointment. Carrie thanks him for understanding, insists she loves him, and kisses him. Austin notes they are both invested in this marriage. He knows they will make it and he intends to make her happy. - Will is at the pub, putting the letter in the safe.
