TO THE LETTER!

- Carrie enjoys shopping with Marlena at the town square and laughs
she is more fun than Kate. Marlena excitedly shows her a cute outfit
for baby. Carrie is thrilled and simply cannot wait for her little one to be born! Marlena accidentally drops the baby outfit. Sami comes along and wants to know what is going on. She picks up the outfit and deduces her sister is pregnant. Carrie agrees. Sami becomes bitter about not knowing. Marlena asks her not to make a scene. Sami laments everyone but her knows. Carrie does not deny it. Sami suspiciously wonders why she did not want her to know. Marlena implores her not to be confrontational.  Carrie declares she is a couple of months along, adding she is sorry she did not tell her. Sami suddenly demands to know who the father is, ignoring Marlena’s protests. “Who’s the father? My husband or yours?!”
- Spencer is at the DiMera door with Rafe and warns him things are not good. Thanks to Nicole, they cannot use the evidence. Rafe whispers
they at least have a trump card - knowing what the evidence is.
- Inside, EJ glances at the old letter stating he is no DiMera and puts it back when impatient knocking is heard at the front door. He opens it to Rafe and Spencer, assuming it is not a social call. He sees them in. Rafe drawls they need to find the coldblooded killer. He claims to be surprised EJ has not been cooperating. EJ accuses him of covering up his ineptitude by harassing him. More baseless accusations against a DiMera! Rafe argues he has not accused him of anything. EJ, however, is aware of the fact that he contacted the judge for a search warrant. Rafe quips he was doing his job. EJ smirks to enjoy that job while he still has it! Rafe knows it is insensitive to be there just after the service of his sister, but this is a murder investigation. Spencer stands nearby and observes. Rafe reminds EJ that ISA agent Spencer reports to the governor. EJ gets himself and Rafe a drink. He wonders if he is threatening him. Rafe thanks him for
the drink and takes a gulp. He chuckles he wants to help him avoid saying the wrong thing when he is off his game. He hopes Spencer will not pay attention to EJ’s comments. Spencer agrees. EJ explains his suggestion he worry about his job was due to concern. What would the public think of this witch hunt against his family? They were not able to nail Stefano when he was alive and so now they do the next best thing and go after him. He grins, feeling he now has the upper hand in this game of cat and mouse. But Rafe is not done yet. He sits across from EJ at the chess set and notes not all publicity is good publicity. EJ reminds him his fatha was just murdered and he lost his sister. Rafe realizes he is concerned with his situation as mayor. It would be tough to follow through with his campaign promises with a cloud over his head. EJ states if there is any cloud over his head, then he put it there. Rafe advises him to cooperate. EJ has no idea what he means. Rafe stares him in the eye. “Take a lie detector test,” he dares. “Take one today!”
- Will joins Sonny at a pub table and makes wisecracks about not being
on the main page of the paper anymore. Sonny is sympathetic but points out the paper said he was cleared. Will quips a bar is never called a non-gay bar in a newspaper. Sonny notes the bar has gotten some publicity leading to more business but everyone, like Will, suspects EJ did it! He recalls how Will was working on finding out EJ’s secret. Will is quick to clarify. EJ’s secret is probably something other than Stefano’s shooting. Sonny insists his history makes him a prime suspect. Will argues Stefano was EJ’s flesh and blood and that means everything to a DiMera! He whispers as soon as he finds the real secret, he will have leverage. Sonny is worried about the danger. Will is certain he will triumph. Sonny fears
he is talking like a DiMera. Will reasons that he has no choice as he was backed into a corner. Sonny offers to help. Will points out he considers
EJ dangerous. Besides, this is his fight. Sonny sighs he only wants to
help. Will notes he could not do much. Sonny wants to be on his side, plus he is a Kiriakis with a history of dealing with the DiMeras and his father is a lawyer … A cute guy called Brian enters and Will introduces him to Sonny as his friend. Brian has a question. He wonders why Will has not been to the Spot since Stefano was shot.
- Carrie is dismayed Sami is making this about herself again. Sami wants to know who the father is. Carrie impatiently snaps it is Austin. She never slept with Rafe. Sami scoffs and doubts it. Carrie haughtily explains they respected their marriage vows, unlike her. Sami angrily bends forward
and addresses the unborn baby about its mommy lying. Carrie stops her. Sami snaps she stole her husband. Marlena thinks it is time to go. Carrie angrily reminds Sami that she lost Rafe when she slept with EJ so she cannot blame anyone but herself for ruining her marriage!
- EJ pretends to think the lie detector test is not such a bad idea. He sarcastically notes he would have to have the inadmissible test done by
the less than trustworthy Salem P.D. and give up his civil liberties. Rafe insists it would be a chance to show his constituents he is not afraid of sharing the truth. EJ smoothly states he is only afraid of the Salem police department, which has an endless vendetta against his family. No doubt they would sneakily leak something skewed to the press. Rafe promises confidentiality. Legal eagle EJ notices he is not actually guaranteeing it.
Rafe calmly threatens to let it get out that he did not agree to take a lie detector test, which would not bode well with the constituents. The ball
is now in his court. EJ politely agrees to give it some thought and suggests they see themselves out. Rafe has one more question. “Do you have a gun?” EJ turns and his eyes widen.
- At the pub, Brian suspiciously wonders why Will waited so long to use his alibi that he was at the Spot with him and Neil. Sonny quietly excuses himself.  Will stammers he figured the truth would come out. Brian notes he must have been trying to avoid himself coming out. Will explains he is from a family of cops. He did not want to come out to them like that. Sonny listens. Will admits he did not want it in the papers he was gay. Brian bitterly states he sees to think it sounds better to be a suspected murderer than be gay. Would he have come out if not for the charges?
He gets a call and steps away. Will complains to Sonny the guy is like someone on a crusade. Sonny is sympathetic. Will quips his being gay is his business. Sonny explains it is like him learning someone is ashamed
of being a Brady and that is why Brian is bothered. Will still does not understand. He thanks Sonny for being a good and patient guy, pats him, and leaves. Brian watches from his table.
- Carrie muses Sami has no claim on Rafe or whoever he gets pregnant. Sami calls her a b*tch. Carrie taunts that he was a good guy and she did not deserve him. She cared only enough to run back to EJ after all he did to Rafe. A part of her actually wishes this WAS Rafe’s baby, cos Sami sure would deserve it. Sami sticks out her chin and takes a step closer. Marlena stands between them and declares that is ENOUGH ...
