Episode 12,116 - JJ saunters outside and pretends to be surprised to find Jen and Dan together on the Horton porch. He pouts he assumed she wanted to talk to him and leaves since she is not alone, slamming the door. Dan pauses. Jen feels bad. JJ smirks inside. Jen thinks she should go talk to him. Dan decides he should get ready for Parker. She claims she will call. Dan sighs, then departs. Jen also sighs and returns inside, where JJ the sulk accuses her of hating him. Jen is baffled. He complains about her lover man Dan hating him and turning her against him. He even called him a criminal! Jen denies the charge. JJ points out he came over to gloat after he got arrested. Jen argues Daniel is not the issue here. JJ claims he is and even blames him for his shoplifting. Jen is flabbergasted by the announcement, then loses her patience over JJ's bad behavior, his refusal to take responsibility. And the transgressions are piling up! He quips she already thinks he is a loser anyway so it matters not what he does. - EJ opens his door to Justin, who asks him to step outside, his demeanor grim. EJ notices. Justin warns the plan has hit a snag that could thwart the takeover. EJ is not pleased and does not mince words. WOT! Justin explains. A certain Mr. Shin is having doubts about backing the takeover. EJ rages the Shin bastard’s vote is critical. He growls he will call. Justin notes it is not the right time in Tokyo. EJ places a call regardless and orders an angry message be given to Shin. Justin then reminds him they must head to Sami’s hearing. EJ snaps this is all because of fatha. Justin notes the phoenix was in a hurry to leave town. EJ remains hell bent on his destruction. - Hope spies Roman drinking hard liquor at the pub and stands by him, her eyes filled with sympathy. He is worried about Sami and depressed about being relieved of his commissioner duties. How it haunts him that he did not suspect that Joe Bernardi was a dirty cop. Meanwhile Abe is arranging a hero’s funeral for him! Abe saunters up in full uniform and explains he had no choice, it was expected. Roman understands, Hope must now leave with Abe for the service. She gives her brother-in-law Roman a supportive hug and glides out in her police blazer and skirt. - The widow Bernardi approaches Sami at the town square. Chad runs into Abigail, who makes him stay silent as the scene unfolds. Sami would rather not talk but the widow snaps she murdered her husband and she will have her say! Because of her, they have lost a husband and father and now Sami is trying to taint his noble memory. Sami insists she knows what she saw. The widow refuses to believe anything impure about his memory and implores her to say she was wrong about what she saw. Sami blinks and refuses to lie. The widow rages no weapon was found! And she did not even know her husband! Sami quietly swears on her own children that the man had a weapon and was about to kill Rafe. Chad and Abigail take it all in. The widow screams not to ruin her husband’s reputation for their son. Abe and Hope arrive and put an end to the hysterical display. Before she gets back to her grieving little boy, the widow leers Sami will pay for killing her husband! Chad ushers Abigail away. Hope tells Sami she is sorry. Sami cries. She asks Hope not to tell the family about her hearing with the grand jury today. Hope made no mention of it to Roman at the pub. She wishes her luck, her eyes filled with worry. Sami whispers thank you and bravely clicks away in her heels. She clicks all the way to the pub, where her daddy is still drowning his sorrows. Roman embraces her. She wonders if grandma is in the Kitchen. As it turns out, she is elsewhere with Kayla. He laments he is not in the know anymore since he is off the case, off his job for the time being. Sami blames herself. Roman declares he loves his daughter so damn much and insists there is no need to worry, he is aware this was not her fault. Sami breaks down in tears and clutches him like a terrified child. - Chad and Abigail discuss what they saw, at the coffee house over coffee. She remembers what it felt like to lose a father and whispers she does not want Will’s mom to go to prison. However, Mrs. Bernardi and her unhappy little boy surely deserve the truth! Chad retorts it is not their concern. She insists it is until Chad suddenly blurts out his son of a bitch father is the one who is really responsible for everything! - Cheerful Maggie appears at Dan’s apartment to return Parker’s toy, excited about today’s visit. She is dressed like sunshine, very upbeat, but notices her son is not. He murmurs he keeps making a bad situation worse! He updates her on the shoplifting situation. She becomes amused when he complains the boy also caught them kissing. Dan clarifies. The lad acted like his mom did not care about him. The glam redhead suggests JJ is old enough to realize his mother has other relationships too. She has no idea how manipulative he is, however. - EJ impatiently arrives at the courthouse and notes to lawyer Justin that Samantha is late! Justin now introduces the special prosecutor to EJ, who wonders why a special prosecutor. She smugly states they wanted to ensure due process and warns big gun Justin that the people will have their own fire power in her. She boasts she has beaten him before! Exit the dragon lady. The fact that she has defeated Justin seems to concern EJ. Justin points out they are actually tied against each other, one to one. Sami now arrives and complains to EJ about her run-in with the angry widow. These proceedings were not supposed to be public knowledge but that woman seemed to know about them and wants her to fry! EJ kisses his beloved on her unhappy head. He sits with his arm around her as Justin explains the widow was not quite herself. Moments later, the moment of truth comes. EJ must remain outside the proceedings and kisses his fiancée before she goes in. The door closes behind her. He looks worried. So does Justin. The heat is on ... - Meanwhile, inside, the dragon lady prosecutor proceeds to show the grand jury a picture of the victim, a decorated police officer. She is out for blood ...!
