Episode 12,115 - At apartment 14, Will has been showing a book with green tomatoes to baby Arianna, a blissful pink bundle in Sonny’s arms. Sami arrives in an updo and a demure dress. Sonny hands new grandma the baby with a twinkle and a smile. She gets emotional about the perfect little princess and marvels she is so happy to hold her before ... They wonder what and Will gets worried. Sami admits she is scheduled to appear before the grand jury. They will decide whether to indict her for killing Bernardi! Her fate rests in their hands. Will assures her she will be fine, so long as she tells the truth but not exactly the whole truth. Sami agrees. She had no probable cause and is grateful they have withheld the damning video. She becomes stressed about the nonappearance of the razor. If the jury thinks she is lying about that, then they will surely think she is lying about everything. Sonny gives her a mini pep talk. He knows how the court works, given his father is a highly successful lawyer. A jury can always see when someone is being honest and she is honest when she says she perceived a blade in the shot cop’s hand. Sami quietly wonders to Will why Chad too would agree to keep the video a secret. - Legal eagle Justin is working hard at home, preparing for his meeting with Sami and EJ. Adrienne races in and claims there is a legal reason he cannot and must not take that case! Justin gets sarcastic. She explains there is a conflict of interest as she and Bernardi’s widow served on the very same auxiliary board for years together. Justin patiently explains their town includes people who cross paths, unlike big city New York. She accuses him of tearing the family apart. Justin sternly states that would be her! Pause. He is sorry, So is she. He warns her obsession with Sami et al. is driving Sonny away. She gulps she already drove him away. Justin advises his wife to let it be and let things play our as they are supposed to with Will and Sonny. It is not her place to interfere. He kisses her, goes to work, and she takes a deep breath. - Back at apartment 14, Will has no answer to Sami’s question about Chad’s mindset. Sami hands the baby back and explains she must meet Justin and EJ. She is curious about a christening date. Will wants to wait until Uncle Eric is better. Sami gushes that is nice, the family priest would be thrilled to christen her. Knock knock! Sonny now opens the door to Adrienne and tries to tell her it is not a good time. She walks in upset and stares at Sami. The tension in the air is thick. - At DiMera mansion, EJ is busy at the desk, preparing. Someone enters and he assumes the visitor is Justin. In fact, it is Chad, clad in a black t-shirt, which matches EJ's black jacket. EJ the slick older brother asks wot is on his mind. Chad quips he has done the math and is aware their infamous father was the one who hired the man Sami shot. He demands answers! He realizes the phoenix is not the kind of man one wants to cross, like the black king on the chess game he left. EJ claims he has no time. Chad threatens to talk to the cops. EJ notes he has no proof. Chad shares his theory, that it was Stefano’s planned revenge against Rafe, for bedding his former wife, the woman he loved. EJ concedes Stefano has displayed possessive tendencies in the past. Chad recalls how the night of the shooting, their father was at the coffee house, glancing at his watch numerous times. That was around the same time Rafe was attacked! EJ wonders wot the question is. Chad wonders if he thinks he is crazy. EJ sighs perhaps, but about fatha he is dead on. He elegantly pours himself a coffee from the luxurious silver pot and drawls he knew immediately it was fatha since Sami stated she saw a blade. He goes on to explain to Chad that one must stay one move ahead of the phoenix. Chad wonders what his next move will be. EJ hugs his brother and dares to share his true feelings. Fatha is a sadistic and malevolent bastard. And he will not get away with this! Very soon it will finish! Chad is puzzled. EJ stops short of admitting he has a plan. All he will say is that the old man has lost his edge, has been making mistakes. His eyes darken dangerously. He has also lost HIS support! Slick lawyer Justin now appears and pleasantly asks Chad how he is holding up. EJ is curious. Justin points out he has been covering at the coffee house while Sonny spends time with baby. Chad smiles, excuses himself, and advises EJ to let him know when he has time for the next match. Exit Chad. EJ hastily informs Justin they were discussing fatha. His brother, as it turns out, is smarter than he thought. He grins and hopes this is the day he will be able to bring the phoenix down ... - At the hospital, Anne taunts Dan, who is hearing the news of JJ’s arrest for the first time. She would like to know what JJ the felon is really like! He asks about the charges. She knows not but gloats the possibilities are endless! Dan warns her not to blab what she just told him to anyone. Anne, however, is no patsy. Arrests are public record. Dan reminds her they happen to have a private agreement and if she does not back off from the fair Jen, he will get her fired for her own transgressions. Anne leers he cannot stop the boy who is on a downward spiral and goes on her maliciously merry way. Dan now places a call to Jen but gets her voice mail. Abigail walks up to him and anxiously asks about her mother’s whereabouts. Dan laments he is not sure but he heard something. She sighs what did her brother do this time! JJ was arrested for shoplifting. Abigail gasps and decides to go down to the station. She insists the reluctant medicine man accompany her, cos her mother needs him! - At the police station, guilty liar JJ tells his mom the shoplifting was a mistake. Abe saunters in and frowns there is no mistake! Jen stares. One of the arresting officers updated Abe on the serious situation. The fight between JJ and the other boy led to the discovery of stolen electronic equipment in his backpack. A clerk confirmed JJ was in the store and bought nothing. JJ snaps the cops had no right to search his backpack. Jen flies at him for not telling her the truth. He claims he was waiting until they were alone. Jen asks Abe for a moment and he steps away. EJ acts wounded and accuses bad boy Cole of planting the stolen goods in his backpack. Jen hisses he was a no show for Cameron and she no longer believes anything that comes from his mouth! He becomes indignant. She lists his transgressions and orders him to stop trying to make excuses. She rages she is not overreacting either! JJ sulks.
