Schemers and Dreamers Part 2 - Abe explains to Jen that that as JJ has no record, he was able to convince the store owner not to press charges - if he returns the stolen merchandise. Jen sighs in relief. Abe is optimistic he will be able to convince the police department to also go easy on the boy, who has a clean record. Jen emotionally thanks him. He feels the lad is acting out due to his grief. Jen, however, has no more patience. She drags her sulking son home in a huff. Dan and Abigail later arrive and Abe informs them he got the charges dropped. But he has never seen Jen so angry! Meanwhile JJ arrives home with Jen and claims he did nothing wrong. Jen refuses to believe him and snaps why would he steal when he has everything he needs! He tries to play the Jack card but she will have none of it. She is utterly disgusted. His father would be ashamed! He hangs his head and she accuses him of getting nastier and nastier with his delinquent behavior. She orders him to his room to think about acting like a man. He soon vanishes from sight. Jen goes outside and leans against the door for support as she breaks down sobbing. - Sami excuses herself. Adrienne concedes she may have been unfair as she is rather overprotective of her son. Sami becomes defensive that she would think he needed any protecting from her Will. Adrienne snaps she did not approve of him being a lookout at Victor’s house! Sonny insists it was his idea. Adrienne regains her composure. She really wanted to wish her well at the courthouse today. Justin believes she is innocent so she is confident it will go well. Sami cordially thanks her. She teases they have something in common for she too is an overprotective mother. She exits with an impish smile. Sonny thanks his mother for at least trying to cover up how she feels. Adrienne announces she is really here to talk to Will. Will assures her there is no need to apologize and goes to change Arianna. Mama Adrienne assures Sonny she is sorry, also for how she was with Sami when she came in. Sonny chuckles Sami is not exactly passive. Adrienne promises to even join her fan club if that is what she must do to end this tension between them. Sonny suspects it continues to bother her that he is with Will. He concedes sometimes Sami can be tough. When she explains she realizes Sami had no motive to shoot the cop and is therefore innocent, Sonny gets quiet. As Will emerges with the now changed baby, Sonny does not see him and proceeds to tell his mother how his heart was filled with love when Will brought Arianna to him. He wants her to be happy for him cos his life is one of true joy. Adrienne starts to cry. She admires the baby once she is in her crib and offers to babysit. She loves Sonny and promises things will be better from this moment. He walks her to the door, then chuckles to Will he is sorry for the drama. Will muses Adrienne was right on some counts. He is not exactly the poster boy for tranquility. Sonny will hear none of it. Will adds he overheard when he told his mom about him too. Sonny meant it. Will teases he had better. Sonny murmurs in agreement and holds him close as baby Arianna sleeps on. - Back at DiMera mansion, EJ gets high praise from legal eagle Justin for managing to juggle the personal drama as well as this business coup. EJ is pumped and stares at the portrait of Father Phoenix. Today is the day he learns just how much his son is like him! Justin notes he seems to despise him more than ever. Naturally, after what he did to his beloved Samantha. He asks about her status and Justin drops a bombshell. The D.A wishes to charge her with murder! Sami enters and she is stunned. So is EJ. Justin, on the other hand, sees a good opening. The D.A is overreacting as there is no proven motive. The charges should have been involuntary manslaughter. Therefore, to win, all Sami must do is keep to her story. He departs to file some papers before they meet again in court. Sami worriedly asks EJ if he agrees that all will go well. He pauses, then gets closer, and assures her Justin was right. She needs to keep her story straight. Sami boasts that even Adrienne now feels she is innocent. He is impressed. She hopes she will not cause any problems for happy Will and Sonny. He promises it will be fine and she gushes she loves him. He loves her too and kisses her tenderly. She decides she wants a hug from grandma and they agree to meet up at the court house. After she has left, EJ angrily addresses Stefano’s dark portrait. This is the last day his beloved will have to worry because of him, and he will succeed at NOTHING! - Abigail and Dan arrive at the silent house. The girl goes upstairs to find everyone. Dan finds Jen outside crying on the porch.She sniffles he must know. He does. She hopes he is not here to say he told her so and wants him to go. She is inconsolable. Meanwhile Abigail is mad at her brother and tells him he has blown it with their mom this time! JJ walks to the window and spies Dan with his unhappy mother. He grumbles this is all he needs! Jen whimpers in Dan’s manly arms and they kiss and kiss and kiss. JJ decides he is going to use the good doctor to get him out of this mess. - Will and Sonny admire the sleeping baby and kiss. They are still solid. - Abigail heads to the town square, where she is saddened by the sight of the widow and unhappy son of the fallen cop who was killed by Sami. She watches when the boy points at daddy’s memorial picture and also when the widow walks toward Sami nearby. The widow rages she has something to say to her! Startled Sami blinks and steadies herself. - EJ is on the phone, reminding a contact he is counting on their support. This person is crucial as EJ makes his next move. He promises they will not regret it. He ends the call and leers to the patriarch’s portrait that the end is near. He slams down the black king of the chess set. And this time he is playing for keeps! EJ now turns his back as the fallen black piece rolls helplessly on the chess board. It has begun ...! END Ahead on Days of Our Lives Abigail questions whether she should keep Sami’s secret. Sami is a nervous wreck about the grand jury, JJ plays hardball with Dan. |
