Madison comes back to bed and kisses his torso, bites his chest. He stirs. She smiles she wanted to snuggle before going to work. He wants to kiss. So does she and they are soon making out again. They later lie in bed, though he is staring into space. She presses him to share what is the matter. Is it about her mole Sami? He admits the old him would have done the same. She reasons it is just business and Kate has probably done the same. Brady now wonders what else Madison James has failed to tell him! She flashes back to a conversation with her mystery man, then decides to get dressed. Brady stops her, sensing there is indeed something she is hiding and he wants to know what it is ... - Sami gets a coffee at the pub and runs into friendly John. He hopes Sydney liked her party. He and Marlena were grateful to be included. Sami thanks them for the doll carriage. John gushes Marlena is looking forward to all the things she missed when Sami and Eric were little. He asks how it is for her working with Kate. Sami gets defensive. John explains he asked because he cares. Sami is sorry. In fact, things are going well with Kate. They are a good team. John jokes perhaps she has mellowed. Sami complains she just does not have enough time for everything, and missed out on planning Sydney's party. John reminds her when she was the same age as the twins, he was the one who did it all, as her mom was not there. He understands she still resents her for that. He also regrets missing out on Brady. Sami wonders what he means. He explains the three smaller kids do need their mom there. If her new job is preventing that, is it really worth it? - At the office, Carrie has a coffee maker incident. Rafe enters in time to help. She is upset and he wonders what it is really about. She laments she and Austin had a fight. He stormed out and she knows not where he is! Rafe points out all couples have fights. She is extremely unhappy. He asks what happened. Austin has been mad since she took John's case, plus there was Sydney's party. He does not like her not having time for him. Rafe offers to talk to him. Carrie disagrees as that would only make things worse than they already are! Rafe considers. He does not want to cause problems. Carrie informs him there have long been problems, and they started when they disagreed on John's innocence. Even then she wondered if she really knew who her husband was. She imagines he is wondering the same about her. Rafe brings up the fact that they had no problems in Switzerland. Carrie sighs Salem is their home, even though they are still in a hotel. Rafe drawls life must feel unsettled. She thinks it might be stress. However, when she was in law school and he was working, they always found time for each other. She admits she fears it might not be so important to them anymore. Rafe reasons that guys are sometimes unreasonable. He is sure Austin will be home when she gets there and he will feel like a jackass. He casually confesses he himself is unreasonable sometimes when he tells Sami everything is her fault. Carrie wonders about her reaction to their waltzing last night. Rafe is more preoccupied with Will acting strangely. He did have a spat with her, though. Ever since she started this job ... Carrie promises to be discreet if he wants to talk. Rafe remarks he thinks Sami's boss is using her. She is doing stuff he cannot fathom and it does not even bother her! Carrie already knows that part of Sami and how tough it is to take so she can sympathize ... - Assistant Abigail walks into Professor Austin's office, only to find him sleeping on the sofa in his undershirt. He sits up. She asks if he is alright. He sarcastically states he is great. She wants to know why he was there all night. He would rather not discuss, then admits he and Carrie had an argument so he came here. To summarize, things are not okay! He puts on his shirt and buttons it. Abigail is sorry. The preoccupied professor muses that one should get married because one is in love with someone. However, one can end up alone in a marriage. Abigail recalls her mom once alluded to that. Austin sighs sometimes it is better not to talk, hence his escape. And yet things are worse this morning. This is what transpires when couples stop communicating. Abigail wonders if Carrie even wants to work things out. Austin is not sure, as there have been no calls. Abigail exclaims she is crazy not to fight for him. He is a great guy! It means much that he listens to her and takes her seriously. Austin appreciates it. She insists he is a good person. He takes her hand in his and mutters he almost believes it, she is so convincing. Abigail's eyes widen in girlish expectation ... - Sami snaps at John she is still there for her kids.
