She points out there were no groceries and teases her budget has them wearing their own wardrobe. She puts her leopard scarf around him and he kisses her passionately. He likes her black and leopard outfit even more than the Valentine's Day she first wore it. The blonde is pleased he remembers. He wants to take her to the bedroom so they will have more memories they will never forget! They kiss again. They later emerge from the bedroom, dressed. The mood is light. She marvels he never ceases to surprise her. John finishes buttoning his shirt and decides to get back to the budget. She points out her first paycheck is coming soon. He laments that is her money. He feels he must continue to be the breadwinner. She understands, but wishes he would slow down, stop worrying, and relax. They can look forward to Sydney's birthday party. She got her a present, though it might be a tad extravagant. He sits on the sofa with her and agrees to her afternoon of relaxation. She wonders what they can do that would not cost anything. He roguishly drawls he cannot imagine and kisses her passionately. - At the mansion, replay of sneaky Mayor Abe changing the papers in the envelope, EJ coming up behind him. What is he doing? Abe freezes. Back in the living room, Sydney has just opened her pink princess dress present. Nicole wonders where her daddy is. Time for another present. Meanwhile, EJ asks what Abe is hiding from him. Abe admits EJ caught him red-handed. He pretends he forgot to sign Sydney's birthday card and was searching for a pen. EJ offers him his lucky pen. Abe retorts he was looking for a pen, not luck. EJ cockily says they will see after the debate and excuses himself. Abe hastily shoves the envelope back in the drawer unseen and returns. Lexie asks where he was. He had to take care of something and everything will now work out! EJ walks back munching popcorn and thinks Will should take Sydney back, but Will claims his mother will not be back for a few hours. Nearby, Abe whispers to Jen how EJ almost caught him. Jen assures him that victory is almost his! EJ quietly asks Nicole about the questions and she gloats they are in a safe place, Sydney rushes to daddy. He lifts her up and kisses Nicole. What a great day! The three have a tea party together. Lexie is with Theo and Abe and informs her son that daddy has an important debate coming up on TV. Little Theo gets excited. Lexie insists all of Salem will see what a smart caring, trustworthy man Abe is ... Jen notices Will's phone has been vibrating for ten minutes. Will claims it is not important. But he has a glint in his eye. - Carrie and Rafe waltz around the empty pub in each others' arms, mesmerized. Sami arrives and stares in disbelief through the window. They stop. Carrie finds it hot. Rafe agrees it is warm. They are standing close. The tension in the air is thick. The pair look almost ready to kiss. Austin and Sami are now both standing at the door, watching. Austin folds his arms. "Hey! Hi!" Rafe and Carrie uncomfortably realize their respective spouses have arrived. Sami appears speechless. Carrie and Rafe nervously explain what happened, and how it led them to come in the costumes Sydney wanted to see. Austin gets it, but what the hell was going on when they walked in! Rafe and Carrie insist it was just a dance, as per the kids TV show Sydney loves. Austin and Sami are clearly suspicious. Carrie now suggests Sami take over as princess. Rafe places his arms around petulant Sami and calls her his pretty princess. She snaps she has no time to play dress up and asks Austin to help her with the decorations. She is surprised to hear Sydney is now with Will, not Caroline! - Sami finally gets through to Will on his phone and asks where he is cos Sydney's party starts any second. She demands to know where they are. Chez EJ, for a little party for Sydney. He taunts her that she too should come. Sami gets mad. Will eats and adds he should go, then ends the call. Sami is furious Rafe cannot believe it. Sami fumes that son of a b*tch EJ went behind her back and threw a party for Sydney, with Will's help! She is going to get her daughter! Rafe wants to come with. Like that?! Rafe follows her out and explains they will be back. Austin now tells Carrie things turned sour for him when he caught her in Rafe's arms. She claims it was the dance, no big deal, but he thinks otherwise ... - Hope warns Stefano his mind games will not work. They are opening that box! He explains it will rrrrrruin her family. Hope reasons gran Alice would have gotten rid of the key if she wanted the secret to stay hidden. He points out where she found the key. Hope gets mad. Bo puts his arms around her and tells her not to let him get to her. They will not get involved in these games. Stefano ominously states they already are. He implies he is bored. Bo and Hope are fed up. Hope thinks he is bluffing and deduces he is afraid. Bo stares darkly. Stefano argues he did not walk away, but heard them out. Hope suspects he was worried they would get a warrant. This time he is going tol lose! The phoenix laughs she always says that and is always Wrrrrrrrong! He reminds the cop couple that they need his key. Hope quips they could find a way to open it without him. Stefano wishes her good whatever and starts to leave. Tough guy Bo stops him. He knows the phoenix is desperate to know what Mrs. H has on the big bad Stefano DiMera! How about they find out and then he can go back to playing chess with himself! Hope agrees.
