Carrie enters and looks at him in surprise. He complains the heat is going crazy and the landlord is not returning his calls! He puts his white undershirt on. Carrie removes her jacket. He looks at her camisole. They start to take out files and Carrie in her pink camisole watches Rafe in his undershirt trying to fix the thermostat. He got a call from a woman in the old neighborhood whose son was picked up for arson. She believes he is innocent. And so does Rafe! Carrie wonders what the cops have on him. Rafe drawls he does not know but he thinks she would be the best lawyer to help him. He adds the boy's folks have no money. Carrie fans herself. Rafe argues the public defenders will not do. Carrie gets herself a cold glass of water and agrees. Rafe smiles. She smiles back and asks for the file. He calls her the best. His buddy from the P.D. emailed him the arrest file. He will forward it to her. He is still wrestling with the broken thermostat and wonders if she has a certain kind of wrench. She hands him a bobby pin. He looks at her and shakes his head. She glances back up at him. As Rafe gets the landlord's voicemail again, Carrie gets herself more water. He watches her and offers to stay and meet the client she promised to meet. Carrie now teases him that men sweat, while women glisten. Rafe grins she is sweating and drinks some water. He starts to complain that Sami taking the job with Kate was good money, but a bad idea. Carrie points out he might need that money and she is also relieved Sami did not kick up a fuss about them working together. She now gets to the case file and admits it looks like there is a lot of evidence against the kid. She will keep reading. - Austin drops his books. Abigail helps him pick them up. He is relieved to see a friendly face. She is equally happy to see him. She insists on helping him with his books and wants to show him the shortcut to the building where his campus office is located. - At the town square, Sonny is surprised to see Will is still in town. Will explains he decided to stick around. He is no longer that same little Will! Sonny wonders about his new outlook. He grins he had a kind of New Year's resolution. He is now open to other kinds of people and ready to mix it up. Sonny is glad he no longer seems depressed. Adrienne rushes up and Sonny greets his mom. They hug and she gushes how proud she is of him. She reminds him she needs a bar tap and flounces off. Will is curious. Sonny explains Justin got it for her to remind her of the old days at the Cheatin Heart. Will thinks his parents are great. Sonny agrees they always have his back. Justin soon joins the boys and praises Sonny for wanting to open up his coffee house. Will boasts the kids on campus are already talking about it. Turns out the Java Cafe had a fire and then the owners opted not to reopen. Justin thinks this is a great idea, as it fills a void. Sonny wants it to be a place where gay and straight folks can hang out together. Father hugs son and thanks him for taking the Cheatin Heart off Adrienne's hands so he can spend more time with her. Sonny must go talk to a designer. Justin will be meeting Adrienne for lunch soon. Justin now informs Will he is glad he is working with Sonny. Will is impressed that Sonny's folks are so close to him and so supportive. Justin suspects he is also thinking about Sonny being gay. Will notes Sonny and also his folks are cool with who he is. Justin praises Sonny for his ambition and great heart. Will mentions some people are uncomfortable with loved ones being out. Not everyone would have such family support in that situation. Justin chuckles it is not a situation, it is who Sonny is. And he wants him to fall in love with a good person who makes him happy. They all deserve that! Will nods. Justin is about to go see Adrienne. Before he does, he proudly adds that he and Adrienne would not change a thing about their Sonny! - Bo and Hope talk cop business at the house. She now updates him on Alice's key. Her lawyer said she did not want anyone to find it and has no idea why! Hope toys with the key. She and Bo sit on the sofa and she laments it is almost like gran had a secret life. She and Tom seemed to have a perfect marriage, though. Bo points out couples can have tough times, like them. Her grandparents still had an unshakable trust. Hope declares how touched she is that he will still go to therapy. Bo drawls he would do anything for her. She loves and kisses him. He loves her back. He wants to talk about something. He reasons Mrs. H wanted no one to find the key and he happens to think they should drop it. Hope does not agree. She and Alice were very close and even communicated without words. She knows that Alice left the key in that plaque for a reason. Until she knows what it is, she refuses to drop this! Bo realizes she will not change her mind. He calls her stubborn. She reminds him they are a team. He remarks this is driving her crazy and she retorts he is driving her crazy. He soon relents and agrees they are both in this together. Ring ring! Tis an informant for Bo. A guy who broke into a pharmacy is casing out another place. They are on their way! - Austin is seated at his new desk and thanks Abigail for showing him the shortcut. Abigail gives him a tip - the students will love him if he gives no homework! He laments all the assignments are to be submitted and also graded online. For an old school guy like him, it will be next to impossible. She insists on helping, bends over him at the computer and asks for his user name ... - Back at the town square, Sonny introduces Will to Mateo, a potential investor. He is handsome and charming. He liked the sports website. Will blushes. Mateo jokes he hates hackers unless they work for him. Sonny told him Will was the brains behind it! Will joins in the fun chitchat and laughs when Mateo insists Sonny not play any sappy straight music at the new place. Mateo is flirting and Will is intrigued ... Read Part 2 - click here! |
