Sweaty shirtless Quinn is helping Dan the man with his high kicks. Shirtless Brady approaches, impressed. Dan gasps he is working off stress. Dan now holds the target for Quinn, who showcases a professional, superfast kicking combo. Mel and Maggie watch in amazement and Mel smiles if all instructors were like him, she would sign up in a heartbeat! Mel now talks privately to Dan and notes he is off surgery rotation but why? Dan tries to steady his shaking hand and downplays it. Mel fears he has tested positive for MG but he replies it came back negative. She suddenly notices his shaking hand and woefully wonders what that is. He is not sure, though Lexie is doing tests. She realizes he will not perform surgery until he knows more. She is bothered that he did not tell her. What if it is serious? He will then tell her and they will deal with it as a family. He promises. Maggie now joins them and exclaims she wants to sign up for something! Where is Quinn? Brady drawls he had a call. Mel decides she will see him later and walks out with the redhead. Maggie smiles her son should keep in touch and departs with Mel. Shirtless Brady perceives shirtless Dan has something on his mind. Dan pensively wonders what he would do if suddenly he was unable to do the one thing he had wanted to do his entire life? Brady considers. - In bed, shirtless John roguishly kisses Marlena in the morning and kisses her and kisses her and praises her for making sure folks knew he did not defraud his investors. She never gave up on him. She points out she loves him. He teases he wants proof. "Alrightee!" says the blonde and they kiss passionately! Afterwards, they cuddle in bed and he confides how he was alone in his cell one minute, then the next something played out, though he knows not how. Marlena reminds him of the picture clue Carrie and Rafe found. So many people were on his side! John starts to laugh he must have ruined Stefano and EJ’s Christmas. Marlena heartily laughs along. - EJ and Stefano are at the mansion, fuming over the fact that the newspapers are calling the release of John Black a miracle, of all things! EJ suspiciously wonders how anyone found the information to clear John Black. Stefano replies perhaps he was not as meticulous as he might have thought and should try and figure out where he went wrong. EJ's eyes narrow. But he himself said his plan was infallible. How could those village idiots have triumphed! Stefano continues to play innocent as EJ vows to find out what happened. In fact, he will not rest until he does! Stefano makes a strange face. Perhaps the other side this time was just as meticulous as he was. EJ is exasperated that the French government shut down the internet just at the time he pinned the transaction on John. He suspects someone pointed the village idiots in the direction of the internet. The phoenix casually asks what he would do if he found out who did that. EJ mutters he will take care of that person personally and he know what that means! Stefano nervously nods. - Jack and Jen are at the house, cleaning up after Christmas. Jack is a tad melancholy the holiday is over. Jen sadly agrees it was an amazing Xmas, but she wishes son JJ could have joined them. Jack assures her they will always be family and puts his arms around her. Jen turns. He wonders whether she feels the same way he does. She insists the family together is indeed wonderful, though they are not at the point he would like them to be. She is re-entering things slowly, unlike the way she used to dive in. Speaking of diving ... Jack hands her a wrapped box. Tis a present he wants her to open now. Tickets to Hawaii! He assures her he got them separate rooms and is therefore not putting any pressure on her. He was thinking of the surf, the sand, the waves. And who knows, maybe a volcano will become active, too! Jen points out he will be starting spring semester and she has to work on Abe’s campaign. Then there is JJ's boarding school to consider. Jack excitedly states he found a good time for them in the future. She looks down and agrees he did. He declares he will still be around. He never made anything a priority for his family before and is now trying to make up for lost time. He becomes hopeful and Jen retorts Aloha, which means yes. He hugs her, but she clearly has other things on her mind. - The press and paparazzi converge at the pub. Mayor Abe is in his element. He and Lexie await John and Marlena, who soon arrive. Mayor Abe publicly greets his friend. John emotionally says he could not have made it without his friendship. Mayor Abe notes no one is a better friend. John says right back at ya and adds payback starts now. A sultry reporter steps forward. She is the one John chose to lead the press conference. John grins mischievously and hopes the DiMeras are watching, cos this is gonna make their day ...! - Back at the mansion, Stefano suggests EJ not bother looking for John Black's freedom fighters. EJ thinks that is rather out of character. The phoenix thinks he might not be that great at multitasking and just because John us frrrrrrree, it does not mean the game is over. EJ muses the rules have changed. Stefano reminds him he is a DiMera and will be able to turn this to his favor. EJ pleasantly slaps him on the arm, agrees, then turns around, staring darkly.
