He is helping Lexie consult on a case. Maggie has a good reason for having tracked him down. Her friend was told he would not be doing her exploratory surgery after all. Maggie fears it is all her fault, because he has her MG! Dan puts her mind at ease when he informs her he does not have MG. However, she is confused to hear that he is taking himself out of surgical rotation. Why would he do such a thing if all were well? The redhead and the Greek tycoon wait for his explanation. - At the condo, Hope gets off the phone. They are getting nowehere. It appears internet service was no problem, according to internet service providers, as they had hoped. Rafe drawls if they don't find something, John and Marlena will have one lousy Christmas. Bo retorts all they need is one day. - At the town square café, Austin brings ladylove Carrie a coffee. She is trying to find something to help John and laments there are so many governing laws on internet access. Chad happens by and ends up showing them the earrings he got Abigail for Christmas. They match the necklace he had bought her, which the cops now have. Austin teases Carrie about getting her a toaster. Carrie assures Chad his girl will love the earrings, as they are from him. Austin hugs Carrie and grins the two young ones have nothing to worry about. Chad momentarily flashes back to kissing Mel. - Meanwhile, at the pub, Mel seems to have been having a flashback of kissing Chad. Abigail interruptus, and she is eager to discuss her crush. Mel wonders if she thinks she can forget about him and looks like she is referring to her own secret attraction. Abigail stammers she is not sure. Mel suggests she listen to her heart. Abigail admits there are obstacles. For one, she would be breaking up with a solid guy who cares about her. Mel accuses her of just wanting Chad around cos he is a sure thing. She then takes it back and confesses she has her dad on her mind. Abigail is sympathetic, as Christmas would be a terrible time to break up! She hopes she and Mel are still good. Mel assures her they are. Abigail is relieved as she is her best friend who would never let her down. She trusts Mel implicitly! They hug before she leaves for Christmas shopping. - Back at the town square, Chad thanks Austin for saving Abigail. Carrie must get to her meeting with Bo, Hope, and Rafe. Austin flinches upon hearing Rafe will be present. He kisses her again and she promises to try and meet him for lunch. Once Carrie has left, Austin laughs to Chad he cannot help himself when his wife is around. Chad thinks they are lucky. Austin offers him some unsolicited relationship advice. He tells Chad to find the perfect woman who fits him. And when he finds the special one, he should hold onto her because it is a rare thing indeed! Chad considers. - At the condo, Rafe questions whether crafty Stefano was intentionally leading them on a wild goose chase. Hope is convinced he was really giving them something they could use. Bo sighs he just wishes one of the internet providers would help. Rafe suddenly gets an idea. Carrie returns. Rafe points out sometimes demonstrations lead to the internet being cut off. That day there were demonstrations in Paris. He calls his buddy at Interpol to find out about any clandestine interruptions. He leaves a message. Bo asks Fancyface to raid the fridge with him. They step into the kitchen. Rafe waits to hear from his old pal. Carrie notes he and Sami must be busy, preparing their vows for tonight. He is admittedly surprised Sami is so consumed with it. He suspects there is something going on. Carrie feels it might be to show everyone her marriage and family survived all that happened recently. Rafe is not sure about that. The timing is off, especially since Will seems to have some issues ... - At the mansion, Maggie wants to talk to her son. Victor pours him a scotch. Maggie wants answers from Dan. He admits he has been having tremors in his hand and Dr. Lexie has tests scheduled. Perhaps he simply needs a vacation. Maggie is relieved to hear it is not MG. Vic offers to fly in a specialist. Dan is sure Lexie will do fine by him. He wants them to stop worrying. He sits with his drink and notes the irony, as his non-biological mother also had a tremor in one hand. Maggie wishes he would tell Jen. Vic hopes he is still coming for Christmas, but Dan would rather spend the day alone. - Austin is talking to Kate (unseen/unheard) on his phone and promises her some time and gifts, though he cannot commit to Christmas dinner. Abigail runs into him. He drawls he wanted to call and ask her how she was since the warehouse. Abigail seems to misunderstand his interest. - At the pub, Mel literally bumps into Chad. He suggests they talk about what happened. Mel looks to see if anyone is watching and then shyly agrees. He starts to babble. Mel whispers they only kissed because they were freaked out. Chad does not know what to do, for he does not want to hurt either Abigail or Mel. Mel stares at him and remarks what Abigail does not know will not hurt her. She pretends their kiss meant nothing, though her eyes betray her emotions ... Read Part 2 - click here! |
