John Will Be Home For Christmas - Part 2

- Dan is sorry for whining about his problems. Maggie is glad he is confiding in family. Victor points out he has had a difficult year. Maggie encourages him. Vic quips he himself likes to pretend problems are not happening. Dan appreciates the advice. Maggie proudly tells him he will be the same physician and loving man he always was regardless. She
sees him to the door and hopes he will at least reconsider joining them
for Christmas dinner. Vic points out Phil and the baby will be staying in Chicago. Maggie assures him he can share anything with her. Victor wonders what Mel thinks of all this. He and Maggie are dismayed to realize that he has not even told her!
- Back at the condo, the gang wait to hear from Interpol. Carrie had promised to meet Austin for lunch so Rafe ushers her off to meet him. Bo realizes Hope is nervous. Ever since they left the DiMera mansion, something has been on her mind. She laments he knows what it is.
That bastard Stefano baited them about her and John!
- Austin hopes that young Abigail has told her parents all about her scary experience. She thinks they are already going through enough. Austin brings up a Chinese saying, that by saving someone's life you become responsible for them. He is there for her. She blinks and gushes "Thank you. That means a lot!" They are soon seated at a table together and
she smugly tells him she has just set up a discussion forum for his class online. He is not sure about it. She smiles it will help him and blushes he saved her life. Carrie arrives and Austin kisses her. He lovingly teases
his wife about his present in the bag. She thanks him for waiting for her. He coos to "darling" he would wait for her forever and places his arm around her. Abigail decides to leave. They ask her to stay. She hesitates, but then agrees.
- At the pub, Mel woefully informs Chad she knows how much he loves Abigail. He remembers kissing Mel. Sometimes one wonders what it would be like to kiss a certain someone.  Mel is standing close and their eyes lock as she smiles there is no need to do it again.  She asks what is in his bag and he shows her the earrings for Abigail. They decide they
are good and friends only, apparently for Abigail's sake .
- Bo reassures Hope that they are stronger than ever and that will never change. Hope is just feeling fragile as it is Christmas. Bo insists they will have the best Christmas ever. They kiss. Rafe's phone rings and he runs out to talk to his Interpol pal Charlie. He soon has a pen and pad to write down what he's got. Bo and Hope wait with bated breath.
- At the mansion, Dan disagrees with telling Melanie. It could be nothing, so why upset the poor girl, who has already endured enough drama! She has also taken a few days off from the hospital. However, he will update her as soon as he has his test results. Maggie will say a prayer for him. Victor advises him to stay positive. Mel will be attending their Christmas dinner. Vic wishes his godson a Merry Christmas. Maggie hugs him and he then departs into the snowy outdoors. The redhead cries on Victor's strong shoulder.
- Outside the pub, Mel and Chad discuss their Christmas plans. She will be Chez Maggie, while he will experience his first Horton Christmas. They uncomfortably refer to what happened between them as something that never happened and Chad wistfully walks away. Mel assures herself it was the right thing to do!
- Over lunch, Carrie tells Abigail how she and Austin met and she knew he was the one. Abigail explains she has shopping to do and excuses herself from the happy couple, who are clearly in love. She takes a few steps, then stops, and stares back at them.
- Rafe has news. The French government did shut down the internet because they had intel there could be a terrorist attack on the metro!
And it was exactly at the time John was supposed to have made the embezzlement transfer in Paris. He could not have done it! Bo, Hope, and Rafe jump for joy. John Black will have a very Merry Christmas indeed. Mission accomplished! END
