Up in the afternoon of December 12 FUZZY NUMBERS! - EJ is on is phone raging about numbers, for the lipstick projections are not ready, much to his impatience. He sits at a coffee house table with working girl Sami, who laughs he is not negotiating Middle East peace. She teases he is missing the joie de vivre in their lipstick world. EJ the suit feels there is no place for that! Chad strolls over to serve them, as he is doing the coffee house shift. They order two teas. Chad scowls Sami must be mighty busy with the Gabi plans. When he walks away, Sami admits to EJ that she is Gabi’s wedding planner. She hopes he is not mad over it. As Chad listens, EJ pouts, then suddenly explains he understands Gabi is like her family. He pleasantly adds naturally she may take all the time off she needs to plan the wedding. Sami stammers they wanted to do some planning this afternoon. Supportive EJ suggests she get to it . She thanks him profusely, kisses him on the cheek, and exits. EJ smiles. Chad drawls his big brother sure has that one eating out of the palm of his hand! - Hope joins busy Rafe, who is hard at work on his computer at the town square café, a coffee beside him. She asks whether he got the file she sent. He is looking at it as they speak. Hope sits down, takes off her coat, and would like to know if he is as surprised about his sister and her cousin. He drinks his coffee. She means is he okay with it. He pauses, then sighs he is not sure he can be happy the way Gabi wants. Hope suggests he join her and Sami later to talk about the wedding. Rafe is dismal, then decides he will attend the wedding planning meeting. He is impressed Sami is doing this for Gabi. Hope makes a comment about Sami doing it for someone else, jokes he is such a man, and takes her leave. Rafe’s interest is piqued. - Gabi goes back in the pub and worried Will wonders where Sonny went She knows not. He wants to know what is going on. She snaps she now knows how much Sonny despises her. Will insists he does not, but she complains Chad has worked on him. Will is baffled by this mysterious link she has with Chad. She would rather not talk about it now. Will goes on to say things are proving to be too much for her, including him being Nick’s best man. Gabi snarkily apologizes for the inconvenience. Will just wants them to stop and think about how this is mushrooming into a big fat lie! - At the hospital, Dan has just been informed by Dr. Lewis that his tremors are no more. Kayla is thrilled. Dan grins and credits Jen. He cannot wait to tell her! Meanwhile, Maggie offers to drive patient Jen home from the hospital. First Jen wants to thank Daniel. The redhead questions whether it is a good idea. Daniel would not want her running around looking for him just when she is recovering from surgery. Jen excitedly states he should realize he can be a surgeon again and wants to go but Maggie stops her. Dan is being tested as they speak. Jen hopes it will be a success. It simply has to be! Maggie now realizes Jen really needs to see him so perhaps she was wrong. She assures her he wants to see her too. - Replay of Kristen opening her door to John, who bears Brady’s gift. He knows for a fact this is intended for her! Shirtless Brady silently listens, concealed. John admits the envelope he found had nothing inside, but then there is this gift. He knows Brady’s handwriting when he sees it. He sarcastically states Victor might have a reaction to coming across such a thing. Kristen wonders about HIS reaction. John was surprised and drawls she sure seems distracted right now. In case he interrupted anything, he shall be brief. Truth is he wanted an excuse to come over and say ... thank you! Kristen stares. He wished to thank her for not reporting Marlena for breaking into her room. He assumes Brady also gave her this gift for the very same reason. Kristen is relieved and pleasantly agrees they can co-exist peacefully. John now leaves her with the gift as he must return to work. She thanks him as this means a lot. John saunters off. Brady emerges, clad in a black shirt and breathes a sigh of relief. He was afraid John knew about their affair. Kristen quips that would have been a disaster! - The doctor shakes Dan’s steady hand. Kayla will put him back on surgery rotation for this afternoon! Dan continues to praise Jennifer to Kayla. Kayla informs him she is being released today. After his surgery, she bounced back. Dan grins she sure has! Kayla now ventures to Jen’s room and smiles she is surprised she has not left. She is waiting for her release papers and asks whether Dan has seen Dr. Lewis yet. Kayla grins he will fill her in and exits. Meanwhile Dan proudly shows Maggie his still steady hands and they embrace. She smiles the meds kicked in just in time and Jennifer was saved! Dan suspects God lent a helping hand. The redhead suspects there is something else that has put that smile on his face. He gushes there is. She ushers him to go see the fair Jen, who awaits in her room. Dan is pumped. He makes his steady way to Jen’s room. She stands up and winces, then explains she was moving too fast. He reminds her not to. She asks about his tests. Dan holds out his hands and grins he is the go to guy if she needs medical help or a martini made! Jen sits down and becomes emotional. He sits on the bed with her and she praises him for his amazing gift as a doctor. It reminds her of the late great Tom Horton. And he has saved her life twice! She reaches out and touches his hand. She was so afraid she messed things up … Dan drawls they will enjoy this good news. He is grateful she helped him and tenderly takes her hands in his. There are no words to express … This changes everything! She points out he was the one who dared to take the risk. Because of her only! She teases he owes her. He teases the procedure at the cabin was on the house, then brings up what she told him afterwards … Jen innocently wonders what she said to him afterwards. She does not remember. But that will soon change ... - Gabi gets impatient with Will and insists it is not a lie that she loves Nick and they want this baby. Will quietly points out his mom got caught up in paternity lies with him and it is the wrong path. Gabi asserts she know what is best for her baby and storms off like a raging bull ... - Sami and Hope bump into each other at the pub, but they are not late for Gabi is nowhere to be seen. They sit at a table and Hope informs her she invited Rafe. Sami gets sarcastic about how he could contribute, then concedes he did make their wedding beautiful. Hope wonders if she had any trouble getting away from Kristen the slave driving boss. Sami smugly states she is actually working for EJ DiMera now. Hope thinks that must be dreadful. Sami defends EJ as a wonderful boss who believes they are partners. And he has no agenda. Hope begs to differ. Sami points out he let her take time off to come here and he must have known Rafe would be here as well, but he was fine with it … - EJ stands up and reminds brotha Chad that he and the fair Samantha are working together, not to mention they have children together. It is therefore best they be friends, hence his support. Chad thinks that is a shrewd maneuver. EJ credits Kristen with the brilliant idea. He advises him to take her advice as well. Exit EJ. Chad is now almost knocked off his feet when someone roughly shoves him from behind. He turns around with a start only to come face to face with Gabi.
