She thanks him with a kiss. The material girl holds it up, impressed that it is an expensive piece. Brady places it on her wrist and notes she is the only person who knows it is from him. She muses their secrets are adding up. He thinks that is fine and leaves when it is all clear. He whispers he will call her and departs. Kristen smugly ponders the day their secret will come out for John to know! Dan numbly releases Jen’s hands as she asks what crazy thing she said. Was it about the Cubs and a bet? He stands up and assures her he will not hold her to what she said. He forces a smile, his eyes filled with disappointment. Jen would like to discuss him now. Kristen arrives and he excuses himself. He sighs outside the door, woefully shakes his head, and walks away. Old pal Kristen offers Jen a ride home. She explains Abigail is taking care of that. Kristen is glad she is alright. Jen thanks her for coming. Kristen assumes the doctor in the room was the one responsible for her release and offers to tell him to speed it up. Jen states that was Dr. Jonas. Kristen makes a face. The same guy who was with Nicole? Jen snaps no, the same guy who saved her life and twice at that! Will glumly walks past the ornate Christmas tree at the Horton square, his hands shoved in his pockets. “William!” calls out EJ. He smiles it has been a while. Will agrees. EJ wonders whether his motha told him they are working together. Will knows he is her boss. EJ drawls more like partners. Will anxiously excuses himself, pretending to be very busy, and EJ wonders if he wants to share what is bothering him … Will claims he is just busy. EJ mentions that Chad said that he was seeing someone. He hopes it is going well. Will insists it is. EJ notes the young man is lucky. Will thanks him. EJ wishes him a happy and prosperous New Year, with happiness, no complications “Amen to that!” agrees Will. Sami laughingly tells Hope not to hold back. Hope warns her she will fall back into her old patterns and she is nuts to work for EJ. Sami bursts out laughing. Rafe saunters in and asks what is so funny. Sami jokes Aunt Hope was questioning her judgment. Rafe pauses, then asks after his sister. Chad informs Gabi he is busy and attempts to ignore her. She persists. Has he spoken with Sonny? She believes he did and threatens to tell Justin. She reminds him if he does not drop it, he could go to prison! He signed a legally binding agreement and as per that agreement, he is supposed to keep his mouth shut. Chad drawls it is a two way street and alludes to her also going to prison. She calls him a creep, leers to watch what he says, and starts to leave. Chad is no fool and he suspects he does not have the whole story. All of a sudden she is pregnant and planning a shotgun wedding. She snaps he must be happy to know everything about her personal life. Cad recalls how Nick was angry the other night and asks why. She quips Chad must have that effect on people and leaves. Chad suspiciously stares. Kristen teases Jen so that is super surgeon! When Dan returns, Kristen promises Jen she will call her later and takes her leave. Dan learns that is Kristen DiMera, her old friend from another lifetime. He bears her release forms and she is relieved. It feels like a whole year passed since she was stuck in that cabin! Much has changed since then. Dan quietly agrees. John and Brady walk and talk with their coffees at the Christmasy town square. John updates him on using Brady’s gift as an excuse to talk to Kristen. Brady does not mind. John notes they are keeping their distance but making a peaceful coexistence. He suddenly turns to Brady and asks him for a favor, just in case Kristen has not changed. Would he mind keeping an eye on her? Brady replies he would not mind one bit! Soon after, Kristen is checking her phone as she walks past the town square gate. Brady surprises her with a hand on her shoulder and she gasps. He kisses her and informs her of the favor John asked of him. He is convinced his father does not suspect a thing. He wants to go back to her place. She calls him insatiable! He muses she has that effect on him. She hugs him back and purrs he cannot imagine how important he has become to her! Depressed Dan is at the nurse’s station, his stethoscope draped around his neck. He is anxious to get back into surgical rotation right away. Kay goes to make the call. Maggie suggests he take Jen out to lunch while waiting. He laments she should take it easy, his eyes downcast. Jen is waiting for Abigail to bring her tea and toast at home. She calls out she loves her, then has a full flashback of telling Dan she loved him while at the cabin! Back at the pub, Sami is thrilled when Gabi shares that Father Eric will be performing the church ceremony. Rafe sits in silence. Hope talks wedding dress. Sami agrees they will have to make adjustments for the wedding – which takes place after the holidays. She pleasantly inquires how far along she is. Gabi happily replies 11 or 12 weeks. Hope cannot believe it! Nick just claimed five or six weeks! Rafe looks at Gabi. So do Hope and Sami, waiting for an explanation ... END |
