Dr. Yu repeats the tumor could have been due to the exposure of the toxic underground gas. Stefano mutters it cannot be his fault. Abe comes up behind him and demands to know what he said. "Nothing," lies Stefano. Abe leers his wife is dying and if he caused it, he wants to know how! All of a sudden, Nicole staggers into the hospital, doubling over in pain. She cries out for help. Dr. Dan is at her side in an instant. - Lexie breaks the news to EJ that she only has weeks to live. He almost starts to cry and she assures him it is okay. She will miss seeing the changes she feels are coming for her brother. The way he went after Abe caused them pain, but she forgives him. He is very sorry. She hopes he will accomplish good as the mayor. EJ cries like a baby. She wishes she could see him years from now, to see the changes in his life. EJ sadly shakes his head. She wonders what he is thinking. He tries to change the subject but she persists. EJ now admits there is a change just around the corner for him. Nicole is pregnant and he will be a father again. Lexie is happy for him. EJ admits that Nicole wants nothing to do with him and chuckles she is even lying the baby is Rafe's. He evidently finds it rather amusing. He decides he should not burden Lexie with his own dilemmas anymore, then hears Nicole screaming and crying. EJ recognizes her voice immediately and he and Lexie race to the scene of the commotion. EJ rushes into the room where Dan is helping crying Nicole onto the bed, urging her to just take deep breaths. Nicole does not want EJ there so Lexie ushers him out. EJ is besides himself. A nurse walks out and he begs for an update. He fears she might be having a miscarriage and wants to go see her. He argues he is her husband. The nurse quips the patient does not want him in there! Behind the closed door, Nicole cries and gasps on the bed and Daniel asks what she was doing when she felt the pain. She was reading a sign about playground renovations that had EJ's name at the bottom. She sobs and Dan tries to calm her down. - Mel and Chad are happy nekid under the sheets together. He surprises her with a trip to Chicago. She suggests they first stay in bed a little longer and kisses him. - At the pub, Gabi obsesses over a hot magazine ad of herself with Chad. Will enters and takes a seat to talk to her before she meets Rafe. He hopes he did not complicate things by telling her he is gay. She is fine with it and is happy he is comfortable telling others. He explains he is taking one step at a time so ... Gabi assures him she will keep his secret. Enter curious Rafe, who chuckles and wants to know what the secret is! Gabi pretends the secret is that she has a crush on someone. And when she finds out how the guy feels, she will let him know. Rafe grins it will be soon, cos no one could resist her beautiful face. Gabi now wonders how he is doing with the divorce. He is okay. Will looks down and notes the kids miss him. He misses them too. Ring ring! Tis Dr. Dan. Nicole is having abdominal pains at the hospital and is asking for him. Rafe is on his way! - Still sitting with Gabi, Will chuckles about how she covered for him. He warns that Rafe will soon realize she did have a crush on Chad. Gabi now pretends to be over him and airily states they have a photo shoot today. She calls him a mere prop. Will must go to do some work for boss EJ. He appears relieved she has given up on her plan to break up Mel and Chad. Gabi thanks him for listening. He thanks her too. He gives his pal a kiss on the cheek and walks out. Moments later, lovebirds Mel and Chad walk in, all smiles. Gabi grimaces. She soon goes to desperate measures to get what she wants ...! - At the coffee house, Celeste loudly laments she cannot do anything for Alexandra. Cameron thinks just being there for her helps and touches her hand. Celeste gets a strange vibe and pulls away. Enter Abigail! She stares and smiles. Celeste now wonders about the timing of her reunion with her son. He must have been sent here to help his ailing sister. He suggests he was sent to help his mother. She still regrets he had to grow up without a mother, though he points out that was his father's doing. Now he is gone and he is exactly where he belongs. Celeste sobs she will soon have to say goodbye to her other child, Alexandra. Cameron tries to make her feel better but must soon leave for the hospital. After he stands up, Abigail approaches him and wonders if all is well. She had noticed his mother appeared upset. Cameron confesses his sister is unwell. And he just met her. Abigail lets him know she is there to help if he needs her. He appreciates it. She impulsively hugs him and tells him to hang in there. Celeste turns and suspiciously stares. The cards soon issue a warning ... - Rafe shows up at the hospital. EJ becomes agitated that Nicole has requested Rafe yet kept him out. This is his baby, he insists to Dr. Dan, but Nicole filed papers with the hospital so for the time being he cannot see her The rules are the rules. EJ is visibly upset. Rafe enters and hugs Nicole, who is relieved to see him. The doc gives her something to relax and notes they need to get her stress level down. Nicole is glad that Rafe came. He drawls where else would he be ... - In the hall, EJ urges Stefano to help him get in to see Nicole, who is carrying his grandchild. Stefano gasps his daughter is ill. EJ reminds him he is his son. Stefano grumbles he cannot do anything for him and starts to leave. EJ angrily stops him and warns if he keeps treating him in this manner, he will regret it!
