He drawls he had a dream, then he opened his eyes and saw her face. "Life is good!" She is curious about that dream. In his dream, Stefano promised to turn in his bad guy badge. Marlena and John enter. Marlena thinks that is an ideal dream. John thinks it ain't gonna happen. DiMera is up to no good and they will soon know what the mysterious coin means. The ISA had to get assistance from two other agencies, as it soon turns out. They managed to decipher the name Yvette. Marlena notes she must have been connected to Stefano, but how? John agrees they must find out fast, before DiMera makes good on his threat! Bo examines the coin. He and Hope deduce they simply must find the other half of the coin and get the entire code ... - At DiMera mansion, Stefano angrily tells his man on the phone to get the coin. "The clock is ticking, damn it!" He now has a flashback to papa Santo (not clearly seen) coughing on his deathbed in Italy, informing Stefano the boy that he needed him to continue what he could not. He needed him to find the Anastasia egg and uncover what was inside. The future of their family depended on him! Back to reality. Kate enters. Stefano growls at her to leave. She will after she shares some news for which he will need to sit down! He is not interested until she exclaims Lexis is dying and needs him. He blasts her for lying to get his attention. Ring ring! - Lexie cries as Abe consoles her and insists it is not her time. "It can't be!" Lexie understands he is afraid. She is too. However, they have one another, their friends, and family. They all have a right to know her terminal condition. The time has come, she sobs on his shoulder. She collects herself and calls Stefano, informing him that she must see him, as there is something she has to tell him. She asks him to come to the hospital, where she is not working. It is important. - Frazzled Stefano walks off to see Lexie. Kate insists she must come, for she loves her too! - Lucas wonders what Sami means by a proposition. She smiles she means an offer. He still claims not to know what she means. She gives him a flirty look and wonders what he thinks she means. Lucas gets close and murmurs to tell him what she wants. Sami coos they could both end up satisfied. He teases she must mean Pilates. Sami announces they should work together, just like old times! They could crush Mad World as a team. Lucas cannot believe she actually wants him to go into competition with his own mother. Sami excitedly agrees. Lucas slowly shakes his head. He questions how much power she even has. Sami points out Stefano is too busy with all his other companies to notice what she does. Lucas finds it tempting but decides to depart when things get intense. She wants an answer to her offer. He will be in touch. Sami smiles triumphantly. - EJ reasons with Nicole that their lives are in Salem. She begs him to go with her to a place where there can start afresh. This way he can have her. It is up to him to decide. EJ's mouth becomes tense and he morphs into lawyer mode. He points out it matters not where they live if she feels they have a future. She wants him to drop the legal type arguments and just listen. He exclaims he cannot leave, for his family, children, and job are here. How about a compromise? Nicole gets miffed and accuses him of not wanting to give up his power. He replies that is not the case. She bitterly remarks it must be that person who has him wrapped around her finger. HER. "Her who!" he snaps. "Samantha!" says she. EJ becomes sarcastic. Nicole complains. He insists he only wants to be with her. She laments he said that before he slept with her enemy and claims he is choosing Sami over her. He assures her he wants a fresh start with her and their baby. She screams this is not his baby. He now gets a call and must take his leave. Nicole starts to cry and shoves her bag off the bed. Her hormones are going crazy. - At the hospital, Stefano goes searching for Lexie. Kate runs into Lucas, who wonders why she is there. Kate laments Lexie is not in a good way. Lucas praises her for doing the right thing and telling Stefano about it. She wonders what he has on his mind. Before Lucas can say, Stefano returns, grumbling he cannot find his daughter. John and Bo hear the commotion outside Bo's room and assume he is after them. John goes to the door and angrily warns the phoenix to back off. Kate wants him to leave him alone. Lexie approaches and Stefano embraces her. Marlena emerges and wonders what is going on. Kate whispers his daughter is dying so they should leave him alone. John is at a loss ... - John announces to Bo and Marlena that they must find Abraham. Meanwhile, Stefano asks Lexie to tell him everything. She explains she has an inoperable brain tumor. He wants to hire a better doctor. She patiently notes no one will give them the answers they want. It is time to face the facts. He urges her not to give up. Kate steps up and says she is sorry. What can she do? "Leave!" growls the phoenix. Lexie thanks her. Lucas escorts his mother away and assures them she was trying to help. Lexie is baffled Stefano spoke to her in such a manner. He starts to list what they can do, but she cries this battle was not meant to be won. He must accept this. Stefano shuts his eyes and holds her tight as she cries. Woeful EJ comes around the corner. Lexie admits the tests have not been hopeful. Her prognosis is dire. The doctor appears. Stefano would like a word. He privately wants to know what exactly she is doing for his daughter. And if she does not think she can keep her alive, then he intends to take things into his own hands! Dr. Yu is briefly spooked, but then replies she knows who he is. However, no threats or money will help. She patiently suggests that he be there for his daughter instead of looking for someone to blame. He wonders how this could happen.What was the cause? He will surely be horrified by the answer ... - John and Marlena find Abe. He realizes they have heard. They are so sorry. Abe numbly update updates them on her terminal tumor. "There is no hope." Marlena reasons there is always hope no matter how dismal things seem. John asks what they can do. Abe stammers he does not know. He chokes back the tears. This woman is his world, his life. John places a reassuring hand on his shoulder. Marlena reminds Abe that his wife needs him now and she needs him to be strong. Abe sits down and gasps he cannot imagine how he will be able to go on without her. - Lucas takes Kate to the town square and lectures her for getting closer to Stefano. She explains she broke his heart but implies they are still soul mates. In addition, she warns him to steer clear of Sami if he does not want to become a casualty of the war she is presently having with that b*tch who stole her company from her! Lucas says nothing. Kate does not seem to notice, but maybe she should have ... - At the Coffee House, Nicole uses a newspaper to clean something up, then sees the announcement of Sami's CEO promotion.
