At least that is what EJ DiMera hopes, as he waits for the fair Samantha Brady to respond to his romantic proposal. She gasps and he gathers she is surprised. She stammers she had thought on Valentine’s Day he would propose but he did not. He teases there have been hints. She stares at his smiling face. He notices her silence and starts to get worried, assuming the worst. Is this a no? She replies no, it is not a no. She has just not yet answered. He charmingly asks her to explain. Insecure Sami whispers she cannot say yes until she is sure he is not popping the question for all the wrong reasons! EJ is not sure what she means. Sami gets choked up with emotion as she laments her life is a mess and he is already helping her with Will. She does not want him to feel he needs to rescue her as well. He teases that is nonsense, then places his hand on his heart. He proceeds to explain why he wants her to be his wife. He loves her and she is one of a kind. She brings joy to his life like no one else ever has or ever shall. "That is why I wont to marry you." Sami remains insecure and feebly repeats she hopes he is not doing it to help her with Will. She peers at him. He patiently reassures her. Sami starts to cry that she is insecure and sniffles that when men tell her they love her, they only love a part of her or who they think she is or who she can be. She sobs she is sorry she is spoiling his special moment. EJ gazes at her and dramatically declares he loves her for who she really is! They kiss by the candlelight as he credits her with giving him a peace and fulfillment he could not imagine. He has loved her all along and she is all he ever needs. He emotionally adds he is impatiently waiting for her to say yes, she will marry him. Sami suddenly gasps YES and kisses him through her tears. They laugh in relief and she repeats yes, she will marry him. He slips the ring on her finger and gallantly kisses her hand. She touches his face and gushes she loves him sooooo much. They kiss again. However, not everyone in Salem will share their enthusiasm ... - Nick meets Vargas at the rectory. Nick is late and Vargas is not ready to entrust him with the money just yet. He wants his assurances he can handle his scheme cos the way he understands, he has made a mess of his life! He shuts the door. Nick coldly claims he knows nothing. Vargas begs to differ. He knows he is not even his wife’s baby daddy. He warns he had better be focused, for there is no room for error! Nick insists he has it under control. Vargas orders him to tell him what he’s got. Something big but it could be risky as it is not all legit. He therefore intends to research some more, just to be cautious. Vargas now demands he explain how he got himself into this baby mess. He suspects he knows his motivation already ... - Rafe meets Gabi at the fancy room in the Kiriakis mansion. She wants to talk Kate! He assumes she is still upset over Kate’s document. She meant no harm and was looking out for Will. In fact, she even gave him her word she was not out to hurt Gabi. Colorful Gabi gasps for she figured out the two are secret lovers. Rafe protests, then gives up when she lists where she has seen them together. She wishes he had told her he was having an affair with her baby’s great grandmother! - At the town square, glam Kate appears preoccupied with thoughts of Rafe as Lucas boasts of increasing sales since he joined the operation. He notices something is the matter. Something like Stefano being back. She denies it and sits down. She would rather discuss Ally living at the mansion. Lucas becomes evasive. There is a reason for it he cannot say. Besides, Ally likes being with her siblings. But his problem is that Sami is back together with EJ! He presumes it will not last and even feels pity for Rafe, whom he feels has not been able to romantically move on from Sami, as she is the love of his life. Kate sighs. Little does she know that Rafe is going to prove Lucas very wrong with a sweet gesture ... - Outside, suited Stefano informs Sy that their business is far from over! Sy sighs he is sorry he went to Victor Kiriakis. Stefano gives him a dark look. He demands clarification and growls to tell him what he has done! - At the coffee house, busy Brady has just opened his briefcase, The first envelope out is the one from Sy. Brady takes out the other pictures in envelopes. Along comes friendly Hope. Marlena assumes the envelope from Sy with no return address is a picture and is ready to open it. Hope brings up the mugger Brady identified. As it turns out, the APB did not work. The trail went cold. Marlena pauses. Brady gets an overseas call and asks Marlena to walk him to the door. It was nice spending time with her and he hopes they can do it again soon. Marlena smiles she would like that! Exit Brady. Marlena now sips her coffee with Hope and updates her on seeing John. Hope encourages her not to give up on the man she loves. Marlena laments nothing will help unless … Hope realizes she wants to expose Kristen. Is there a way to do it? Marlena softly states there is indeed and shares her shocking theory ... - On the DiMera doorstep, handsome John suavely informs Kristen he bears a gift and holds it up with a sincere smile. She acts disinterested, as he has not accepted her and Brady. He enters regardless, insisting she will change her mind when she gets an eyeful of what he has! He leaves the bag and muses her photos brought back some memories for him and some of them were happy. It made him realize he has not wiped his slate clean and led him to make a decision. She therefore needs to have what is in this bag! He saunters out. Kristen takes a peek inside as his plan gets underway ... Read Part 2 of Love ... plus Spoilers ...! |
