She remains preoccupied with the letters, the deposits. Why would Alice have kept such a secret? Bo assures her they will figure it out. Hope fears it was blackmail. Bo silences her with a few kisses and promises they will follow up later. They notice the applause nearby and focus on EJ, who has just declared he is actually running for mayor. Victor cannot believe it. Stefano murmurs that was well done! Marlena thinks it is disgusting. Roman wants to know what EJ really wants. Bo cannot believe it either. - Nicole thinks EJ will fit right into the wonderful world of crooked politicians. Brady drinks with her and wonders why anyone would even want to be mayor. He calls EJ a son of a bitch with a plan. He intends to find out what it is! - Rafe asks Carrie and Austin if they have seen Sami. Negative. - Adrienne sits with Jack and asks him to tell her his whole story. He does, though it is not shown. After, Adrienne cries about what he went through and explains it changes everything. He must enlighten Jennifer! He, however, has given up, as Jen was too hurt to listen. Adrienne thinks he should have been honest at the beginning about where he was going. She lectures him for never thinking of the consequences of his actions. Jack believes he should leave Salem. She stops him and orders him to go and tell Jen the truth. He owes her that much. Jack hugs his sister tight, and asks her to wish him luck. - Back at Horton house, Jen cries to Dan, wondering why Jack returned like this. She is not sure what to say or think or feel, but wants Dan to stay. He promises he is with her always and they embrace again. She is not sure why she even cares about Jack's feelings. Dan asks if she might still have feelings for him. Jen retorts she has anger, confusion, pain, and sadness for Abigail. A part of her will always love Jack, but she wants to spend the rest of her days with Dan. They kiss. She praises him for being a great man, solid, and reliable, unlike Jack, who just fell into dessert. Dan muses Jack is exciting. Jen insists that is not what she wants. She wants empathy and commitment. - Standing at the podium, EJ goes on with his speech. He feels Salem has the potential to be the greatest city in America. He had humble beginnings from far away. Then he came to America, became the CEO at DiMera Enterprises, motivated by the idea that he could one day play a small part in rebuilding Salem. "I have a dream for Salem!" And that concerns the wealth of its community. He wants a town free of criminals, prostitutes, and corporate embezzlers. The future is never behind so he will not look to the past. He thanks the crowd and presents the current mayor, Abe. Abe is livid. As EJ walks off, the new mayoral candidate is ambushed by reporters, who seek his opinion of Abe's performance as mayor. EJ replies that it leaves much to be desired. The gloves are off! - Bo, Hope, Roman, John, and Marlena rally around Abe and Lexie. The DiMeras will not spoil this evening. Bo quips they are only clowns. - Carrie cannot believe that after what he did to Sami, EJ has the gall to do this! Sami will hit the roof! Austin has just gotten a message from the FCC concerning an urgent investigation about the pension fund, They seem about to make an arrest. Meanwhile, Rafe is leaving a most urgent message for Sami to call him. - Maggie walks with Vic and tells him what EJ did was unconscionable. She remarks Victor is calm. He deduces Abe's track record will speak for itself. He appears placid, yet at the same time distracted. Maggie wants to go talk to Abe and Lexie. She lovingly touches Victor's face and flounces off. - Chad comes back with Abigail and is shocked to hear from Sonny that EJ is running for mayor. - Abigail complains to Mel about her dad. He was her hero, and then just up and vanished. Mel is sorry. Abigail laments she will never understand how he could abandon his family. Mel points out Dan is not returning her calls and she is getting worried. - EJ sits at the table with Kate, Stefano, and his Millionaire Matchmaker date. The phoenix is proud. His date suggests he get the right wife for his campaign. Lexie walks up and confronts them. "How dare you! How dare both of you!" How could they do this to Abe and also to her?! EJ retorts it is not personal, it is politics, sweetheart. She accuses him of humiliating her husband. What is this really about? EJ claims he merely wishes to elevate the status of the family. She should be happy about it. Lexie rages at him for intentionally hijacking her husband's moment. She calls him a crook. EJ's date tries to defend him but Lexie snaps to stay out of it. She warns him not to play dirty or else and storms off. Stefano grins. Kate wonders what he is going to do. Is he just going to let her walk away? The phoenix wonders what she would want him to do. He chuckles Alexandra is full of fire and more of a DiMera than she will ever admit. - Bo offers to dance to get Hope's mind off the bank statements. He does some fancy moves and she cannot help but smile. He is certain there is an explanation for that bank account and they will figure it out. They spy Maggie at the bar and decide to talk to her. Hope asks if she knows why Alice would have an overseas bank account. Maggie makes a joke, then realizes they are serious. Bo wonders if maybe Alice had to pay someone off. Hope is after the truth. The redhead blinks. "Alice? Secrets? Never!" That one was an open book. Brady interrupts and would like a word with Maggie. She steps away with him. Bo drawls Maggie is right. Alice did not keep secrets. Hope agrees. But she never mentioned the account. She wants to keep looking and has a sinking feeling that Maggie might be wrong. - John and Marlena sit and talk.
