Marlena and John marvel the place is perfect. They discuss Alice and Tom. Marlena wonders how you can thank someone for giving so freely. John drawls one must love and never forget them. They kiss. Carrie and Austin are also kissing. She is not sure where his mama Kate is. He makes a snide remark about Stefano. Not far away, Kate is drinking champagne and assures excited EJ that Stefano will arrive shortly. She finds the Hortons dull. DiMeras are cut from a different cloth, especially when it comes to expressing themselves. They drink to that. - Sonny asks Mel to dance. Victor, Adrienne, Justin, and Maggie watch. Vic thinks they look cute together but Sonny's folks remind the Greek tycoon they love their boy just the way he is! As Sonny and Mel dance, he teases she will not be stuck dancing with the gay guy forever. She is happy where she is, however. In another part of the square, Dan and Jen are sitting together. She is emotional. Her grandparents really did bring people together. Dan calls her lucky for having had such a family. She explains she wanted the same for her children and laments she failed them. Jack, seated behind some leaves, has overheard. He is perturbed. Dan tries to make her feel better. Jen thinks she cheated her kids. Dan points out she was the one who stayed with the kids. He indicates Abigail dancing with Chad and adds she did a wonderful job, as her offspring are special. The only let down was because of Jack. - After they have danced enough, Mel and Sonny sit together. They realize they are both looking for Mr. Right. Mel asks if it is tough being gay. Sonny explains being demonstrative is hard when one is surrounded by others. That is why when he has a special someone, he is careful about who he has around him. Nearby Gabi tells Will she feels badly for Sonny. T was so cruel. Will looks intense. - Chloe shows up again, with news for Brady and Nicole. She auditioned and got the singing job in Chicago. She plans to leave as soon as possible. They hug and congratulate her. She thanks Brady. He assures her she got the gig on her own merits. She can do anything her heart desires. - As the music plays, Bo reminds Hope he is partly responsible for the great food, as he was the taster. Hope suddenly realizes she has forgotten the Horton donuts. Oh oh! They head back to the house to pick them up. - As Dan is making Jen feel better, Chloe approaches and informs them she is leaving Salem. She blinks back a few very large tears and tells Dan she wished to say goodbye. He stares. - Roman and Marlena hug and catch up. She is impressed he is the police commissioner and probes for more. Roman jokes that he will share more about himself later. They discuss Sami and Carrie and how nice it was to see them together, getting along. It was almost like a miracle! Roman asks how things have been for her with John. Marlena admits there were hard times, when she was frustrated and feared things would not get better. Now, however, she can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Roman wonders if she is alright. He senses something is amiss. She pretends she is, though her eyes are filled with worry. - John saunters to his son and asks Brady if he will not say hello to the old man. Brady is surprised but distant. John hugs him. He hears he has been busy with work. Brady drawls he has been trying and brings up John's therapy. He is happy to see that he is better and keeps drinking. John suggests they catch up later. Brady explains there is not much to talk about, as he already made clear what he thought of his present life! John reminds him he is still his son. Perhaps this is just not the right time. Brady repeats he is glad he is walking and departs, leaving John standing alone. Marlena has seen and gazes at her husband with sympathy. - Bo and Hope enter Horton house to get the donuts. The batch of letters is still on the floor. Bo is sidetracked by a displayed photograph of their wedding. She kisses him. They remember Alice, Tom, and how they spent their lives loving only each other. He simply cannot imagine his life without his Fancy Face. She assures him he will never lose her. Bo is sorry he has hurt her and taken things for granted. She reminds him they both apologized already. That was then, this is now. "Loving you is the best thing I have ever done," murmurs Bo. He promises he will never forget how much he loves her and kisses her. - Dan wishes Chloe the very best. He and Jen assure her she is talented. Dan hugs Chloe and she cries after wishing him the best too. - Marlena points out to dejected John that Brady might come around. He doubts it and is not about to force his way into his son's life. Marlena emphatically states that John Black never gives up. Not on himself or his family. John raises an eyebrow ... - Kate has a happy reunion with son Austin. She would have met him at the airport if she had known he was coming. He explains he and Carrie came last minute, plus there was another reason he did not tell her. She was not invited to this party! Kate quips it is a public square. She only wishes Billie had been able to make it as well. She points to the building nearby and boasts she will HQ her new improved Countess Wilhelmina right there ... - Chloe thanks Justin for all he has done. Adrienne thinks Parker will be lucky to have her in his life. They hug. - EJ finds Nicole drinking champagne all alone and flirts that she looks smashing. She asks about his date. He lost track of her. Nicole starts to walk away and he follows her. Is she really here on her own, without a date? And if so, why? Nicole informs him that she has changed. Perhaps it was a spiritual awakening. What happened with Gus made her want to rely on herself for a change. EJ wonders if she is staying away from men for a while. Just the wrong ones! He considers. - At Horton house, Hope hands Bo the bags of donuts. As she is about to leave, she spies the letters on the floor and picks them up, wondering what they are ...
