PART 1 The town square continues to sparkle ... - Replay of Hope introducing John and Marlena to the adoring crowd. They glide in. She is in a black dress, John in his wheelchair. Sami and Carrie rush up to greet them. Sami emotionally embraces Marlena. Bo kisses Hope. Carrie already knew. Sami cries she missed her mom so much. Rafe is introduced and Marlena graciously thanks him for taking care of her girl. Sami calls it the best night ever and they embrace again. Marlena gets back to John and smiles everyone is here. He laments not everyone. Meanwhile, Kate watches from a distance. Chad notes she does not seem to share the spirit of the party. She is not pleased. Dan puts his arms around Jen and praises the Horton clan. She agrees they are wonderful. Hope has honored her grandparents to show how special they were. Dan thinks she is special too and kisses her. Jack appears and stares from under an archway as they kiss. Meanwhile, Will and Marlena embrace. She marvels how handsome he is. She is touched to hear she was missed. He asks John how he is feeling. A hell of a lot better now! Will steps away to fetch someone he wants them to meet. He brings Gabi over and Doug takes pictures. Hope crouches down to talk to John and he sighs it will be hard to leave cos of all the love in the town. Hope has noticed they were whispering and wonders why. John will only say that she has to wait and see. She laughs and hugs him tight. Sami and Marlena share a moment. Marlena knows how she suffered and wishes she had called her when she was going through the almost crisis. She would have been there. Sami giggles but she is here now and then gets teary eyed. Roman enjoys his champagne next to Carrie and Austin. He talks the law. Mayor Abe agrees Carrie would make a great prosecutor. He offers to pull some strings. Carrie explains she loves what she does so that is not necessary. Lexie smiles. - EJ saunters over to Kate with his famous date and drawls she missed the second coming of John and Marlena! Kate claims she is distracted, more interested in new faces for her cosmetics line. She has searched high and low for the right model, without success. Patty suggests she look locally, not globally. Marlena now has the mike and announces she would like to say something. She and John heard from Will every day as well as others who sent their wishes and prayers all the time they were gone. They needed those. John takes the mike and grins. "That's a fact!" The crowd goes wild. Marlena adds they got through those dark days thanks to the good wishes. "This moment is your moment. All of you!" John slowly stands up from the wheelchair. All applaud. Even Victor has a tear in his eye. EJ has a smile on his face. John thanks everyone. He wonders if they will ever know how much their love and support meant. He still has a ways to go and makes a joke about beating buddy Abe in a marathon. He admits he would be nowhere without the most amazing woman he has ever known. "You are and always will be the love of my life." He kisses Marlena on the lips. - At the hospital, Chloe is in bed, depressed. Brady enters and urges her to go to the audition. She laments there is no point and updates him on Kate's threat. She fears she will prevent her from seeing her son, as she knows she was hooking. Brady insists the audition is her big chance. He snaps at her to get ready. Then they will find Kate and he will make sure she gets what she deserves! - Back at the town square, Kate has TV reporters eating out of the palm of her hand as she boasts that her Countess Wilhelmina will have offices there. What is her secret to success? She never loses! - Marlena sits with Sami and hopes this will be a new beginning for all of them. Sami marvels John does not look injured but Marlena points out their John is not entirely back. The journey is long and it is not over yet. Mel drinks alone as people dance. Abigail wants Chad to ask her to dance and cheer her up. He does as requested and they made a handsome pair indeed. As she dances in his arms, Mel teases him about being a DiMera and a very good liar! - Marlena is concerned about John, but he thinks he is fine and gives her another kiss. - Jen almost walks to where Jack is standing, once Dan is gone, and runs into Maggie. Jen sighs she feels she is missing something. Maggie reminds her the square is filled with the presence of past and present loves ones. Jack secretly follows them. Jen is flustered but still cannot comprehend why ... - Nicole is in the middle of proudly telling Kinsey she is now independent. She does not need a man to be fulfilled. EJ has overheard and appears pensive. Kinsey spies Chloe in a hot red dress, accompanied by Brady. She knows she will be great on her audition. Chloe is ready to take on the world, starting with Kate. She finds her with faithful flunky Chris, who is gushing about the party. Chloe snaps at her that they are not done. Chris tries to talk her out of the confrontation. Chloe insists to Kate that she will be a mother to her child. Quinn could point the finger at Kate and her reputation as a cosmetics queen would be ruined. Chloe threatens to make it happen. Kate is livid. Chloe states her son will win with her at his side, advises her to get out of her way and life, and walks off. A waiter comes by and notes Kate looks like she could use a drink. She confesses she could actually use many! - Marlena gets an ambush hug from the grandchildren. Time for a family photo! Lexie smiles to Abe and Theo the night could not get better. Abe is enthusiastic about his impending announcement. EJ happens by and Sydney says hello. EJ begs Sami for a moment with his children. Roman warns him not to cause trouble. EJ insists that he has no desire to cause trouble. Sami hopes EJ will not blow it and lets Sydney go to him. EJ hugs her and shuts his eyes. He then smiles and addresses Johnny, who nods about the party being amazing. EJ congratulates him on winning his soccer game. He heard he scored a goal. Johnny grins. Sami tells Johnny if he wants to, he can hug his daddy. Johnny rushes into his arms. Sami watches with pretty Ally at her side, holding hands with Rafe. EJ stands up, kisses Johnny on the head another time, and saunters off. Marlena and John have been watching. - Marlena soon has a chance to catch up with grandson Will. She wonders how he really is. His emails were mostly about others, not about his own feelings. He laughingly remarks she is a shrink. She promises anything he ever tells her will remain confidential ...
