THIS EPISODE WAS TWEETED ONE HOUR AHEAD BY DAYSCAFE :) HOPEFUL HEARTS Episode 12,023 Valentine's Day … - Brady laments he cannot marry Kristen ever. She notes he looks pale. Is he ill? Is he trying to spare her the pain of losing him? He sadly blinks. No, but he does not wish to hurt her. She tries to convince him he would not. Brady explains it is complicated and worse than she can imagine - Nekid Nick is sitting on the bed with a red heart shaped pillow covering his manhood. He greets Gabi when she enters. She bursts out laughing, removes the heart pillow, and grabs him in a passionate kiss. - At the pub, suave suited EJ has a Valentine rose for Caroline. He is meeting Samantha for lunch and she teases she will keep an eye on him! A deliveryman now arrives with a grand floral arrangement, also for Caroline. - At the Kiriakis mansion, Maggie has a Valentine card for her Greek tycoon. He announces she makes every day feel like Valentine’s Day for him! He sneaks a kiss and then presents her with a box. The redhead likes gifts and excitedly opens it. Tis her most up to date family tree, which Melissa helped him with. She gushes it is perfect and throws her arms around him. He explains he made reservations but she suddenly states he should cancel. He is surprised she does not want lunch. She suggests dinner instead. Perhaps he should lunch at the Brady pub today, without her. - At the coffee house, business is slow so Sonny suggests Chad take the night off. Chad has no plans. Neither does Sonny. Enter Brian. Sonny has a flashback and grins. Chad teases is he sure about his claim he had no plans! Brian quietly greets Sonny and admits he was hoping to hear from him. He is sorry about the other night … Sonny assures him he has nothing to be sorry for but … he still loves Will. Has Brian ever been in love? He thought so, but he must have been mistaken for he now sees what the real deal looks like. - Sami approaches Will at the town square before he opens his box. She informs him she happens to be meeting EJ for lunch. And she thinks he might propose! Will asks why, given she was ready to remarry Rafe just weeks ago. Sami insists that this time it feels right, plus they have kids together. Will assumes EJ forewarned her of his proposal. Not exactly, but she did see the ring in his pocket. Will does not perceive a ring on her finger. She insists he must be proposing today, Valentine’s Day. Will wonders whether she is sure about this. She is and excitedly flounces off in her cutesy pink dress. Will wishes her luck and starts to open the box. - After the loving, Nick wishes his beloved a happy Valentine’s Day. She thanks him for making it special and wishes they could hide here in bed forever. He solemnly promises he will take care of her and their baby girl forever! - EJ muses he has been outdone and teases Caroline for having a secret admirer. She reads the card. EJ is curious. Caroline cannot believe it! Sami enters with her hot pink dress and EJ admires and kisses her. She wonders about the flowers. Caroline steps away to deal with a menu question. EJ chuckles she just gave him the evil eye. Sami wonders whether they should have gone somewhere neutral but EJ does not want her to have to choose between him and her family. She is worth it. She thinks he is too and he helps her into a chair. They sit at a small pub table. Sami lifts her napkin and spies a small box which is identical to the ring box from his coat pocket. EJ wishes her a Happy Valentines’ day. She breaks out into a big smile, her eyes shining in anticipation. - Will opens the card that accompanied his gift. TO OUR NEW BEGINNING. I LOVE YOU! SONNY. Will gasps and assumes that Sonny wants to get back together. - Victor is perplexed. Wifey Maggie explains she knows about the floral arrangement he sent Caroline. She understands she is the mother of one of his sons and she needs her family. It is this kind of gesture that makes her love him. She suspects it would mean even more to Caroline if old friend Victor joined her for lunch. They embrace and decide they are lucky indeed. - Will listens to the mp3 Sonny sent him. “Our greatest hits.” Gabi comes along and he gushes about the Valentine gift from Sonny. She asks if that means they are back together. Will does believe Sonny might officially be giving him another chance. Gabi sits and tells him that is great. Perhaps they could both have their own happily ever afters. Will grins. - Meanwhile, at the coffee house, Sonny explains one cannot make love just happen. Brian offers to start with like, unless he does not feel the same way. Sonny flashes back to Will saying he will be too busy with the baby and decides he would like to get to know him better too. - Sami fawns over the expensive little jewelry box. EJ encourages her to open it. She does and finds a pair of earrings. Her face falls and he assumes she might not like them. Sami claims they are beautiful and she is stunned. EJ drawls he had wanted to find something as exquisite and beautiful as her. He promises her that things will be right this time. Sami gazes at him and agrees he was right about them belonging together. EJ notes they were never indifferent as they alternated between loving and hating one anotha. He cannot imagine life without her, kisses her hand, and murmurs he loves her and wishes he could make love to her all afternoon. So does she! He reminds her they have a company to run and kisses her again, then goes to place a rush on their food. Sami sighs petulantly and slams down the earrings.What about the ring ...? - Kristen would like to know what could be so bad. Brady grumbles he is bad news. After Chloe, he was engaged to two different women. Both of them died! If only he had done things differently! Kristen realizes he actually thinks he would bring her bad luck. Brady complains that things go straight to hell when he pushes things to happen fast. He would hate for that to happen to them. In fact, he has fallen in love with her and wants to protect her, what they have. She calls that sweet ….Brady gets a work emergency call and must depart. He makes it clear he will not change his mind but she thinks she can change his mind for him! - Back at the coffee house, Chad wonders where Brian went. Sonny replies he will return in an hour. They will be hanging out as friends. Chad is sorry for what happened with Will and assures him there are other guys out there. He wishes him a good time and exits. The smile fades from Sonny’s face. - Will excitedly shows Gabi the playlist Sonny gave him. He asks her to wish him luck as he goes to get Sonny the perfect gift. She does. Once alone, Gabi tells her baby girl she wants her daddy to be happy, although … she wants them to be happy even more. She cannot lose her. She simply will not! - Kristen sits at the town square café with Chad and offers to hear his woes. Unshaven Chad admits he was having a hard time accepting that Mel was gone. Then he blew things with Abigail. Kristen muses DiMera romances tend to end in train wrecks so he is not to blame. Chad thinks his problems are well deserved, as he went all DiMera at the wedding. Kristen points out even the best revenge comes with a price tag – something she should have told him. One loses a piece of oneself in the process. He thinks it sounds like she has been there. She does not deny it. - Caroline is admiring her flowers in the vase when Victor saunters in. She thanks him for her favorite flowers. He is glad she likes them. He came by for a bite as Maggie had plans and hopes she can join him. Nick steps up and offers to help. Caroline teases he no longer works there but he insists on helping and asks the couple what they will be having. The special. Coming right up! Caroline wonders if Victor’s wife does not mind him spending Valentine’s Day with a former lover. He assures her she knows how important Caroline is to him. - At the Kiriakis mansion, Brady is on the phone. He orders red and white roses and then stares unhappily at Madison’s picture. Maggie enters. She immediately notices his unhappy demeanor, and wonders what Kristen has done now! Brady snaps she has done nothing. In fact, he is not good enough for her! She turned her whole life around. Maggie questions that. Brady argues she lost all her dreams but he does not think he can make them come true again. The redhead quips that is not his responsibility and reminds him she is here for him. As a friend. He bitterly notes Kristen presently feels like his only real friend and storms off. - Chad asks what he can do now. Kristen points out one cannot put the genie back in the bottle. Chad mentions that things are great for Kristen the changed woman. She sips her drink, agrees, then excuses herself as she had something she forgot about. Chad has one more thing to say. Her happy ending with Brady gives him reason to hope. She corrects him. She and Brady are just beginning … - Will is in the shower. Sonny steps in and drawls he missed him.
