Woeful Women, Dastardly Donuts, & EJ's Move!

- Adrienne arrives at Horton House bearing wine. Jen is ready to make donuts for the book club fun tonight. Adrienne is feeling down. A series of unexpected events soon put her in a very different mood ...
- A nerd meets Theresa at the park and she sells him Dan’s classical concert tickets. The schemestress is out for some illegal fun. That is
what she will do with the profits. Dan the sweaty medicine man of her dreams jogs by and notices she is holding the tickets envelope. Where
are the tickets? She stammers she could not go. He is curious why she accepted them. She gushes she is sorry she did not return them to him.
He grins and decides it is alright she gave them away. Theresa now pretends to be upset about her own problems. Dan peers and steps up
for the damsel in distress. He offers to listen, his eyes filled with concern. She claims to be sad and oh so worried about Sami’s sorry situation. The medicine man is understanding and wonders whether she wishes to walk and talk. She exclaims that would be great, then realizes she has a loud incoming call. She wants to let it ring but he drawls it could be about Sami. Turns out tis Aunt Kayla, who orders her to make time and come
to her office stat! Theresa informs Dan it is about work. He assures her they can talk another time and jogs off. The chit curses and feels like hanging up on the irate aunt.
- At the school, Abe and Theo run into Marge and her grieving Timmy, whose daddy is dead. Abe says hello. The lad informs Theo his daddy was a hero and goes with him to show a pal the hero medal he is wearing. The boys scurry off and Marge laments her son wears that medal which belonged to her late heroic husband everywhere now. Tragic times. Abe understands, as Theo lost his mom last year. Marge is sympathetic. At least Lexie's memory is not under attack. She urges Abe to protect the name of her honorable husband when the trial starts.
- At the town square, Rory has some stash for JJ. JJ has invited Bev
to enjoy with him. Rory feels left out. They suddenly notice Nicole noticing them, having ventured to the café to pick up a coffee. JJ sighs. He kicks his pals out as that woman almost caught him with the coke. They walk off and JJ greets Nicole. She accuses him of planning his next heist. Matter of fact, she is convinced he just hid more stolen stuff in his pocket. JJ blows her off and she threatens to cause him trouble. He sarcastically notes no one believes her, given she lied to the cops before about his mom and smugly strolls off. Nicole will not to let him get away with it and summons someone on her phone.
- Hope is at the pub talking to the sitter about Ciara on her phone. Julie flounces in, wearing her fun floral jacket. It matches her dancing blue
eyes and she is excited about girls night! Hope now gets an unexpected very long distance call from Bo and anxiously answers. Bo is neither seen nor heard. But Hope apparently hears him and does not really like what
he says. She implores him to call Ciara before he goes on his way. Their little girl misses him! She urges him to be careful and the call is done.
Julie would like to know what is going on. Hope confides she initially supported her investigating husband’s absence but time is dragging and now he has decided to go fully undercover! Julie becomes concerned. Hope puts on a brave face and insists they head for the book club soiree at the Horton house.
- At their clandestine meeting, EJ informs his dubious man that Bernardi was dirty and hands him a big bag of money. Fifty thousand unmarked bills to prove Joe was on the take! He must plant it at Bernardi’s house and advises him to be clever about it. Next he must calls the cops with an anonymous tip. His clean cut man wonders why exactly he is doing this. He is saving a life, that is why! He passes him the name of the detective he should contact at the department.
- Sami munches on her prison cheese burger as the guard conspicuously ignores her. She picks up her napkin. YOU ARE A DEAD WOMAN is written in red! She immediately regurgitates the food and the guard shouts what is she doing! She pretends she was just choking on something. He suggests another tray. Traumatized Sami gasps she has lost her appetite.
- Organized Jen is preparing Horton donuts in the kitchen and talking
about Alice in Wonderland. Adrienne brings up why she tried to protect Sonny and complains Justin remains angry. Sonny was mad as well, though she is optimistic as they have since spent quality time together.
She helps Jen with the donut dough. Jen the happy Horton thinks her relationship with JJ has improved too. JJ soon arrives and Jen puts the perfectly shaped donuts on the pan. He thinks they smell great. She complains she made too much dough. He would love to make the rest
of the donuts for him and his friends. He knows how to do it too. Jen
lets him know she loves him and walks off with her floury hands to get ready. Rory now calls and JJ complains about Nicole. It is too risky for him to carry their dope. He glances at the donuts and gets an idea.
- Nicole has summoned Dan and he meets her outside the pub. She updates him on defiant JJ and his seedy pals. She knows he is conning
Jen and she should be warned! Sweaty Dan drawls it is complicated. Nicole quips she will be attending the book club party chez Jen. Dan is surprised she actually invited her. Nicole notes they are becoming fast friends. Perhaps she can be the one to tell her about JJ. She emotionally assures Dan that she wants him to be happy. That would mean being
with Jen. It troubles her that the teen twerp is causing such trouble.
Dan hugs her and the kiddie version of Alice in Wonderland falls to the
ground. She blushes and admits she did not have enough time to read the actual book for the meeting, Dan is most amused.
- Sami’s cell has been cleaned up. EJ appears and he is not amused.
"WOT happened!" he thunders. She waits until the guard has gone and then shows him the threatening note that was written on her napkin in
red. BLOODY HELL says he! Abe the concerned commissioner comes and EJ confronts him for not sufficiently protecting her. Abe takes the napkin and solemnly states he will look into the matter. EJ promises his crying fiancee he will get her home and out of this hellish place! She forces a slight smile through her bars. What can Abe do anyway? EJ
now gets a text from his untraceable man. The deed is DONE! Sami senses something. He claims the message was nothing. Abe returns with an update. From now on, Sami’s food will be delivered by three guards handpicked by him. EJ snaps it is simply not sufficient. He will take up
the matter with Justin. Abe now gets a mysterious important call, assures Sami she will be safe, and leaves in a hurry. EJ stares after him. Sami wonders. EJ continues to play it cool. Everything seems to be proceeding according to plan.
- Kayla summons Theresa to her office and warns her she could wind up in jail in L.A.! They had thought a new jurisdiction would help keep her out of trouble, but according to Jen, she is not even doing her job! Unless she can convince Jen to keep her, she will surely be shipped back to L.A. to serve time in the slammer for that drug bust! Theresa’s eyes widen in horror. Kayla explains she has a book club meeting. She will try and talk Jen into not firing her. She orders her to prepare a written apology to her lady boss. Theresa gets sarcastic about being a slave. Kayla gets sarcastic about lockup in the L.A. county jail and snaps to start writing now! The girl grudgingly does.
- JJ packs his dope donuts in a bag. Adrienne comes into the kitchen and informs him Jen needs help with the chairs. She gets the wine glasses
from the cupboard when he leaves. She also spies the bag of donuts and takes one out. It does not look so impressive. Jen soon greets Bev, who has arrived in her little black dress. Julie, Adrienne, Hope, and JJ are present in the living room. Jen pleasantly makes the introductions. Adrienne asks if JJ is going anywhere special. They are not sure. They will meet friends. How did the two of them meet? Bev sweetly replies at summer school and it was their love of the same literature that brought them together. Jen wants a word with her son. Hope smiles to Bev to
take a seat. She does. Jen lets JJ know she approves of the sweet girl. Adrienne goes into the kitchen to get the donuts and decides to switch
the donuts in JJ’s bag. That way he and his friends will have some nice looking donuts. She feels pleased about her good deed. JJ comes in to
pick them up and Adrienne warmly hands him the better donuts. He leaves with them and he has no idea! Later in the kitchen, Hope confides to cousin Jen that Bo is AWOL and undercover. Jen tries to make her
feel better with the fun and wine and donuts they have coming!
- Theresa is pouting on a park bench, leaving in irate message for JJ that she has taken her business elsewhere. A seedy drug dealer creeps over and she shows him the money. He slips her the coke and wonders about her party plan. She claims she is working on it and turns away ... Elsewhere in the park, Bev tells amused Rory she had to cover that she and JJ bonded over their love of weed. They all laugh. Bev and Rory get to the donuts as jogging Dan pauses to rest. JJ makes a snide remark about free agent Dan keeping in shape for the ladies. Dan sternly suggests the teen concentrate on his own lifestyle, for the sake of his mom, and jogs off. JJ stares. Rory wants him to have a donut. They munch on the donuts but do not taste or feel the effects of the dope. They keep eating.
- Kayla finally gets to the Horton book club.The gals are oddly energized. Nicole nervously comes to the door. Jen explains to all that she invited Nicole, who stares at a photo of JJ. Glassy eyed Jen asks how she likes the book. She laughs strangely when Nicole makes a joke about Alice chasing rabbits. Jen and Adrienne are especially silly. Hope, however, is distracted by her phone and puts her wine down, having been summoned to work again. Jen reads the note from her sorry assistant and agrees to give Theresa another chance. They loudly laugh when Nicole stops her from knocking over a twenty dollar bottle of wine.
- Hope and Abe confer at the station. He has the necessary warrant.
They are going to search Bernardi’s house. Hope hopes this will be the break they need to help Sami. Marge calls and confronts Abe for going back on his word to look out for her Joe! She gets mad about having to keep Timmy away from the house and hangs up. Abe and Hope are on their way to find something ...
- Sami teases EJ for standing outside her cell all night. He should go home and kiss the kids for her. He dramatically declares she will be home soon. The truth shall set her free!
- Dan saunters into his office and takes off his shirt. He walks into the shower and imagines wet Jen in a towel, whispering about using all the
hot water. He breathes no more cold showers and they kiss passionately. Back to reality. Dan is all alone and sighs he needs yet another cold shower.
- Jen reads aloud about Alice in Wonderland. The ladies sip their wine as Adrienne insists on more snacks for all. And so the glassy eyed women
of Salem down more dastardly donuts ...
