She explains it is to honor Alice and Tom only. She is sorry for how Jack treated Dan. Dan tries to be optimistic about how the big evening has progressed so far. She has already honored her grandparents' legacy. Jen agrees and also agrees when he offers to take her home. Jack woefully watches from a distance as they leave together. Adrienne still insists she wants answers. And he should talk to his wife and daughter! He explains he tried, hence the scotch. They would not even listen. Adrienne suggests he practice on her. She wants him to start at the beginning. Why did he abandon his family and what the hell has been going on with him?! Jack stares. - Dan escorts Jen inside the house. She sits on the sofa and shuts her eyes. He wishes he could make her feel better. He acknowledges Jack is an important part of her life. He understands whatever she is feeling now. Jen quietly cries. Dan adds he also understands if she needs some time alone. Jen sniffles and thanks him. He decides to go, but he will be there in 5 minutes if she calls. He wipes away one of her tears and advises her to rest. He is there for her no matter what. "I love you." Jen has no answer but buries her face in her hands and cries. Dan stands up to leave. She stops him. "Please wait." She does not want him to go and throws her arms around him, sobbing. - Lexie introduces Mayor Carver, who hugs his wife. The crowd cheers, cameras flash. All of a sudden, EJ takes his place at the microphone. He introduces himself and announces that he has something of the utmost importance to share. Lexie angrily pulls him off to the side and requests an explanation first. EJ promises he will not take up much of their time. Kate and Stefano watch and wait. - Rafe gets off the phone. He cannot believe this has to happen now ... - John and Marlena exchange a very nervous glance. - EJ returns to the podium with a few words. Abe Carver shall not go unchallenged. "I am formally declaring my intent to be the next mayor of Salem!" The cameras flash. Lexie and Abe are shocked. Stefano and Kate applaud. EJ DiMera holds his head high, basking in the spotlight. A politician is born! Next on Days of Our Lives Carrie flies at Austin. "You didn't bother to tell me? You knew and you kept it to yourself!" Bo, standing at Hope's side, cannot believe what he is seeing. "What the hell!" Brady, Roman, and EJ stare as Rafe approaches John with another FBI man. "I hate to do this to you. I really do." Marlena looks devastated. |
