CHANGE - Part 2

- Lucas saunters up to Rafe, who is drowning his sorrows alone at the pub. They exchange a friendly greeting and Lucas takes a seat. He offers to buy Rafe a beer since he owes him. For what? He reminds him he had warned him to steer clear of Sami. He was right and now they are over. In case he is interested ... Rafe quips he is not. Lucas knows and calls going from Sami to Nicole like going from bad to worse!
- Dan gets a faraway look in his eye and admits he is surprised by Nicole’s offer. He remembers losing baby Parker. Nicole wonders whether it would be too painful. He murmurs he would be honored to be her son’s godfather and appears touched when she insists he is the only man she wants in her son’s life. His thoughts return to Parker, how he gave up on him and Chloe when he learned the child was not his. Until then, he had spent hours attending to him. Now he feels okay just remembering. Nicole points out there has been enough time. He agrees and adds he appreciates having another baby boy to look after in his life. He emotionally thanks her.
- Jen exclaims to Kayla that she cannot stand that Nicole is going to break Dan’s noble heart! She gets miffed that Kayla is implying she just wants Dan back. She suddenly stops and apologizes to her. Abe happens along and wonders what is the matter. Jen is all wound up. She is sorry. Abe understands. He lost it with Stefano when Lexie was unwell and can relate to her emotions running high at this difficult time. Jen and Kayla are good again. Abe would like to speak with Kayla about the chief of staff offer. She explains she is accepting it and understands if he is angry as Lexie should be the one doing that job. They sit at the outdoor café together and Abe assures her it helps that she will be the one succeeding Lexie. Kayla thinks Lexie was amazing and he thanks her. He presents her with a pen he got Lexie, which she used for important signatures.
He and Theo would like Kayla to have it. She is much moved and will treasure the gift.  Abe murmurs there is nothing like old friends in trying times. Kayla agrees with a smile.
- Mel visits Abigail for a girl-to-girl chat. Abigail laments she is not the best person to ask for advice on guys. However, does her father know Chad proposed? Mel admits no, as he would surely freak out. Abigail repeats she is not the person to talk to. Mel now decides to consult with Maggie and wishes Abigail luck with her own issue.
- Cam runs into Chad at the coffee house and they discuss Nick Fallon. Chad knows Abigail was upset about him disapproving, as Nick is her cousin. Cameron sighs she is already not in a good place.
- Abigail nervously places a call to Cameron and leaves a voice message. She felt horrible after he left and is sorry. She would like to make it up
to him tonight. No more mixed signals. “I really wanna be with you.”
She hopes he will call her. Abigail now turns around only to see Jen standing there in white, silently staring at her. Abigail wishes she had said something so she would have known she was there. Jen starts to babble about wanting her daughter to be careful. She brings up birth control and Abigail snaps at her to back off! Jen is rather perplexed by her daughter’s overreaction.
- Suited EJ has a meeting with the governor at the outdoor town square restaurant as Hope stands by. The publicity has been bad for the town and the state. EJ mentions his good work but the governor remarks some have also been saying the DiMeras bought the office. He cannot have it. EJ understands the position he is in and smiles he shall therefore tender his resignation. It will enable him to spend more time with his family. Hope raises an eyebrow.
- Rafe drawls Lucas does not know the whole story about Nicole but Lucas would rather not know. They now talk EJ, whom they both agree they loathe. Lucas explains EJ could not wait to tell him how much Sami despises the fact that Nicole is carrying Rafe’s baby. And as far as he is concerned, Sami and EJ deserve each other!  He finishes his drink and goes to the door. Rafe thanks him for the beer and they part company like old friends. Rafe now flashes back to his earlier encounter with EJ, who was quick to ask how Nicole and the baby were in the presence of Sami. He suddenly realizes EJ wants the baby to be Rafe’s so he can get Sami back. He stands up with a scoff and then stops in his tracks upon spying Sami seated alone at a nearby table ...  In a daydream, Rafe approaches and warns her that EJ is playing her and pushing her buttons. Sami wishes he would just say it. He cannot as he made a promise ... Back to reality. Rafe watches Sami working away, reminds himself that he made a promise to Nicole, and keeps on walking, unseen by her.
- Back at the hospital, Dan joins Nicole, who is ready to go, then gets another baby kick. He wonders what it feels like. She smiles it feels like her baby is healthy and she will never be alone. She says OW when another kick comes and lets him feel it too. Dan is touched when she
tells her little dude to say hello to his godfather.
- Jen sternly advises Abigail not to speak to her in such a manner. Abigail exclaims this is not her business. Jen realizes she was away in Europe
and assumes she is now a woman of the world but if she needs birth control ... Abigail exclaims she has never slept with anyone. "I'M A VIRGIN!" the frustrated girl blurts out.
- Cam listens to Abigail’s voice message with a sigh and Chad wonders whether it was important. Cam is confused. Chad can relate.
- Mel has arrived at the elegant Kiriakis mansion. She asks polite butler Henderson to let Maggie know she is here. He will indeed and steps out with the silver tray he is carrying. Mel helps herself to a glass of water in an expensive glass. Enter Nick. He stares at her. She stares back at him with dread ...
