LOVE AMONG THE RUINS - Part 2 Caroline has decided to surprise Jen and Dan at their table with two glasses of ale on the house! Jen drinks up. Caroline asks where Dan is as his chair is empty. Jen explains he had a call from work. Caroline would like her to pass on a message for her. Tell Dan he will never have to pay for another drink at her pub again! Jen praises her for her courage in what she said to him earlier. Caroline praises him as a good man. Jen enthusiastically agrees. Caroline hopes he will get the happiness he deserves. Dan saunters in. Jen flashes back to him blurting out he loved her and gushes she hopes so too. Caroline gets back to her pub duties. Dan sighs this is it. He helps Jen with her coat and thanks her for pushing him on this journey. He takes her by the hand and together they walk to his destiny. Father Tobias realizes this must be hard and reminds Kristen he is only here to listen and offer absolution. Kristen sighs it will not work if she has not been contrite. Her feelings are real and yet oh so wrong. She cannot bear it and takes off. Brady watches from around the corner. Dan and Jen arrive at the hospital. Lewis asks how his hand feels. There is no more numbness or tremor. So far so good. Lewis grins they now need to check what the tests reveal. The three walk to the exam room together. Dan is optimistically anxious. As the music plays in the background, Sonny informs mad Chad that he wants them to clear the air about Gabi. He does not understand why Chad is so obsessed with the girl but he does not like how he treats her or how he goes after Will for defending her. Chad slurs if he cares about Will he should keep him away from Gabi! He will not say more except that he should try and find out what secrets they are keeping before it is too late. He winks and staggers out. Sonny wants him to explain to him what Gabi did. No luck. Chad has gone, leaving Sonny to worry and wonder. Nick is in a hurry for an answer but Gabi would rather consult with Will first. He had even offered to marry her. Nick reasons that was because he felt it was the right thing to do, then she said no. He crouches down and vows he he loves her and her baby and longs to give them the best life possible. Will now knocks on the door and identifies himself. Eric returns to the pub. Caroline updates him on her words with Dan and thanks him for the advice. She feels the pressure is gone and praises her son. He will be a wonderful priest. Of that she is certain. Eric gets a strange look in his eye. “I sure hope so.” In the exam room, Jen is all smiles as Dan holds out his steady hands. The doctor asks him to hold two weights as tightly as he can. The lines on the chart go crazy. Dan starts to shake, then tries to stop. He thinks he must be nervous. He will do it again. Still the shaking continues. Dr. Lewis is sorry. It seems the procedure has failed. Dan gasps in horror. Jen’s face falls. Brady gingerly opens the door to Kristen’s room and finds her crying on the bed, Their eyes lock. She slowly stands up.
