He noticed the guy with his mom. JJ now gets a text from said mom, notifying him of her whereabouts. His pal notes he has more time to kill. What now? JJ thinks he has an idea, a glint in his bitter eye. Nicole meets Brady at the outdoor cafe and teases him for being solo the night before his big wedding day. He offers to get her a drink. She smiles he must have better things to do. He teases that she and Kristen do not get along so this could be the last one. She points out he does not drink anymore. He will keep her company cos she looks like she could use it! He gets her a glass of white wine, himself a bottled water, and they toast to happiness. He now encourages her to share what is troubling her pretty person. Nicole soon brings up Eric but Brady does not want to think of his brother missing his wedding. He calls him hypocritical. Nicole gets testy and passionately defends her priest. Brady believes brother Eric has a blind spot and chose sides. The collar is supposed to make him better than that. Nicole emotionally states he will never meet a better man than Eric the good and advises him not to speak of him in such a manner. Brady stares. "Oh my God!" He has just realized what she is feeling. The secret is out! Father Eric thanks Dan for saving Will and shakes his hand. Dan grins and goes to check his messages. Eric now wants to discuss the wedding with matron of honor Jen, the fact that he will not be present. Jen wishes he would attend and deduces this is because of the situation with John and Marlena. Eric does not deny it. She and Dan later bid him goodnight and exit. Eric gets a faraway look in his eye. Back at the pub, Marlena compliments Abe on Theo’s progress. She now asks what exactly John said to him. That things were rough between the two of them. And there was that bizarre text in which he asked him to look out for her and help her, almost as though he did not think he would be around. Marlena sighs they are getting a divorce. Abe says no. She admits she too was shocked. She had assumed they could work it out but now all is lost. He would not even take a step toward her. He preferred to step back. Abe sighs he would give anything to be able to even communicate with his Lexie. He cannot fathom this spells the end of John and Marlena. He himself witnessed how they survived the odds time and time again. He urges her to cast out Kristen the witch once and for all! Marlena gushes he is such a good friend and smiles she will call after he reminds her he has a shoulder. They embrace the way close friends do. He kisses her hand, says to take care, pats Johnny, and elegantly exits. Johnny is hanging onto his picture. Marlena notices and assumes it is what he stole from Ciara. Johnny earnestly explaims it was not Ciara’s, he thinks it really belongs to Kristen! John leans in to kiss Kristen but room service interrupts. As he signs for the bill , the she devil looks down at the pre-written text for Brady to come to her room and considers. John shuts the door and drawls he put out the do not disturb sign. Kristen quips the waiter arrived just in time and she will not do anything foolish. He doubts she is sure about that and kisses her passionately. She is still holding the phone with the text message. The stoner boys yelp excitedly at their mischief and scurry off together. Moments later, somber Dan and Jen are back in Eric’s office. Dan needs to call a towing service! He takes Jen home, where JJ is watching the TV too loud. She complains someone slashed Daniel’s tires in the church parking lot. JJ turns off the TV and smugly wonders who would do such a thing! Jen now gets a call. JJ tells Dan he is sorry about his car, suppressing a smirk. Dan wonders. Nicole decides it is time to go and stands up. Brady stands up too and his cell phone falls. He is convinced she has feelings for Eric. She sighs. He adds those are feelings she should not be having ... At the rectory, Eric lights a candle and quietly apologies to his brother. He will not take sides. He looks up at the heavens and decides he will pray for Brady to find peace and happiness, though. Johnny shows a most interested Marlena the secret picture with Kristen in it. The secret picture of Kristen paying off the thug who mugged Brady. Marlena raises her face and studies it triumphantly. Meanwhile Kristen kisses John with wanton abandon and sends the text to Brady. She drops her phone and they start to disrobe. But Brady’s phone has fallen, while he and Nicole discuss her feelings for Father Eric. Nicole insists they are only old friends. Brady is worried. She asks him to worry about himself. He points out life is good and all his dreams are about to come true. Back at the hotel room of his almost bride, Kristen and John take their action to the bed, and she falls back onto her crisp white wedding gown ...
