BUSTED - Part 2 - According to Will’s story, he followed Lucas to the pub and took the gun, having opened the safe by using the numbers of the kids’ birthdays. Roman gives him a hard time. Will admits he took the gun apart and dropped the pieces in storms drains. He then ventured to the mansion, saw the gun, touched it and then left. No one was there at the time. No Stefano, no EJ. Sami is relieved. Not so fast, says Roman, Will, like all other suspects, must come to the station and submit to a gunpowder residue test. - Gabi wants to double check the waitress got her salad order right. She opens the lid and gasps in horror when she sees a dead rat at the top! Chad immediately orders the waitress to find out if any outsiders were in the kitchen. Gabi is scared. Chad consoles her. Mel is exasperated. The waitress soon bears news. The cook did indeed see a guy he did not know in the kitchen. Chad instructs her to call animal control and have the rat tested. But he suspects the sneaky stalker with gloved hands has struck again! Mel notes it is odd, as they were with her at the time, and so close by. Chad wants to call the cops. Gabi panics. NO! Chad disagrees. Mel sides with him. Gabi explains EJ’s people will give her protection, thanks to Will. Mel remarks she needs real protection. Chad reasons his powerful father became a victim so anyone can. The stalker could easily get to her! - At the pub, Austin runs into sister Billie. She gushes over his big baby news, convinced he will be a great dad. He cannot wait and remembers when Will was a wee one. He cannot wait for those moments again. Billie asks if Carrie is as happy. Austin becomes a tad defensive, then declares they are solid and happy now. She is curious whether he is worried Carrie might have feelings for Rafe. No, and she recommitted to their marriage before she found out she was pregnant. He wishes Billie would just support him. She assures him she is happy and promises to spoil the baby. He appreciates it and goes to see if the takeout is ready. They agree to celebrate later, exchange I love yous, and he stands up. Billie sighs. - Carrie is superstitious. Her having Austin’s child plus Nicole’s test being switched to make Rafe appear to be her baby's father were a sign. It is their fate not to be together. Rafe wonders how she feels about having Austin’s baby. She honestly admits it is not what she wanted. But she did before and a baby is a blessing. Rafe quietly listens. She adds what they shared in the safe house was special, yet they must accept it was simply not meant to be. There is no point in torturing themselves. She just wishes … Rafe returns her teary glance. He wishes the same. She hastily states she loves Austin, but Rafe notes she is IN love with HIM. Carrie quietly cries they have two innocent lives depending on them to do the right thing. Rafe sighs he just wanted her. She felt the same. However, her place is with Austin and their baby, while his place is with Nicole and her baby. She stands up and touches her tummy. Rafe stands up too. Perhaps in the next life, he suggests. “Till then?” wonders Carrie. Rafe grins. “Till then.” Austin now returns and updates Carrie. His sister was thrilled with their news and he got her all her fav foods. They kiss. Austin asks Rafe to tell Nicole they are happy about her test results. Carrie has said goodbye. Austin waves and says see ya. Rafe wistfully bids them adieu and goes on his way. Austin emotionally assures Carrie he will give her everything she needs. She smiles she is having his baby and that is all she needs. She is also sorry for what she put him through these past months. Everything was her fault. Austin takes her hands and decides it was both of their faults. But it matters not now, All that matters is they made it through. Now there is the three of them. He kisses her and announces this was meant to be. Carrie forces a smile, then suggests they start house hunting They cuddle and make plans. - Will is now at the police station with his supportive parents. Roman wishes to escort him downstairs. Sami nervously notes others were tested. Roman points out they all tested negative and takes Will out of the room. Sami insists this test will be negative too. Lucas wonders if she really believes that. Sami gasps surely he does not think their son murdered Stefano DiMera! They anxiously wait, for that is all they really can do. Lucas notices it is taking an unusually long time. Sami hopes he will not turn his back on their son. Lucas is dismayed that he was not up front and reminds her he did shoot EJ once upon a time. Sami argues he was a kid and is not capable of such a thing now. Lucas whispers anyone could be capable of murder. Will eventually returns. He swears he did not do it. Sami hugs him. Lucas watches and frowns. They wait. - Rafe saunters through the town square. Chad is relieved to see him and decides to update him on his sister’s stalker. Mel agrees wih the idea. Gabi panics. Once he has heard the details. Rafe lectures his sister for not confiding in him. She squeaks she thought he would get upset. He is upset and requests the threatening emails. She claims she deleted them. What about the phone? She needs it for work. Rafe growls her modeling job is officially over until the pervert is caught. She argues her friends are keeping her safe. Rafe sternly corrects her. HE is keeping her safe now and will start by filing a report at the station and taking her home. She is lucky he does not make her go hide in a convent! Before they leave, Gabi turns back and glares at her stalker-for-hire. Loon boy watches as they depart together. - Will has returned. He now regrets taking the gun out of the safe. Lucas demands to know why he did it. Will exclaims he was afraid of getting in trouble for having it, then concedes it was a real bad idea. He adds he made an even bigger mistake by touching the other gun. Roman opens the door. Sami urges the commissioner to tell them that the results were negative. Will smiles hopefully. Roman stares. Sami is curious why he does not tell them to leave. Lucas impatiently asks what the delay is. Roman woefully states the gunpowder residue test came back negative. Will fired the murder weapon! Sami wants him to check it again. He already did and Will is the only one who tested positive. Roman laments he is in hell over this. Lucas is in hell too. Sami is a wreck. As the female officer observes, Roman must place William Robert Horton under arrest for the murder of Stefano DiMera! Sami puts a hand on her horrified son’s shoulder as Lucas' eyes are filled with dread ... END |
