John fears any move Will makes against EJ might backfire. He and Marlena confess they had not considered EJ stepping up to the plate. John sagely states he is more reckless than Stefano, too. Marlena wonders what the draw is for Will but John thinks that is not important. He vows to stop the DiMeras once and for all! - EJ is indignant. Sami demands to know why he failed the lie detector test. He becomes silent. She suggests he just defend himself. Will stops her, for there is more going on than she realizes and she is just making it worse! Sami turns to her son and wonders what he means. He suggests she forget he said anything. She wants to know what is going on with him. Will is evasive, quips she should think about why he might be more loyal to EJ than her, then decides to depart. He has had quite enough! Sami returns to EJ and proceeds to share why she cannot believe in his innocence. “You’ve stabbed me in the back every chance you get. You are nothing but a crook!" He silently stands up and she insists he must stay and listen to her. Their eyes lock. She has given him the benefit of the doubt too many times. She flies at him for hurting her and those near her, just like he is blackmailing Will. He denies the charge. She snaps he has no compassion. He addresses her as sweetie and argues “Pot kettle.” She hisses he is capable of enjoying killing his father. He stands up to leave. She puts her hands on his shoulders and shoves him back down. He is not going anywhere until she says so! They are extremely close now. EJ’s eyes widen. - Chad believes the European caller must be Mel as it is from Europe, though it turns out to be mama Carly (unseen, unheard) Chad is shocked to hear that Mel is not with Carly, nor has she been in contact with her mother. Where the hell is she? He promises to let Carly know if he learns anything and ends the call. Gabi snaps Mel’s mother is covering up for her but Chad doubts it. He is certain Mel is in trouble! - Mel climbs the stairs and bangs on the door, crying for help. Her captor comes after her and rages no one can hear her as there is no one here! Furthermore, he has locked the door from the inside. He advises her to return to her cell and threatens her with force if she does not comply. Mel quivers. She just wants to go home. She grudgingly comes back down the stairs. He is livid she duped him and explodes, sending the food tray flying. He calls her a lying bitch and leers she has made a big mistake! Mel cowers. - Marlena laments she had thought they were done with the DiMera war. John refuses to let the next generation wreak havoc. Marlena wants him to share what he intends to do. John suggests they strip away all of EJ’s money and power. He is just the person to do it! He reminds them that he too is a DiMera and has been waiting for the perfect opportunity to go after what is rightfully his. “The family empire!” Lucas is impressed. Marlena's eyes mirror her concern. - EJ tries to stand up again and Sami pushes him back down. He is most amused. Their faces hover just inches away from each other. He calmly warns her to take her hands off him. They stare intently at each other as she whispers she hopes he gets locked away for good, He asks her what about Johnny and Sydney. They are better off without him! He taunts she did such a brilliant job with William. Sami gasps to shut up and raises her hand to strike him. He catches her arm and teases he caught that one. He wonders how long it will be before they tire of her. Sami leans closer and closer, intoxicated, and gasps “God I hate you!” Their noses are touching and they are about to kiss … END |
