BODY OF EVIDENCE!

- Dan and Nicole stagger into her hotel room and get hot and heavy …
- Ponytail Sami flounces in the apartment, stressed about a delivery being late for a product display. Lucas snatches away her phone and ends the call. She wonders what is so important. This! He kisses her and teases
she can tear into him now for ending her biz call. She smiles and keeps kissing him, touching his face with her blue nail polished fingers. They take it to the couch until Sami shoves a couple of toys aside and they remember the kids. Lucas is picking them up and then driving them to a sleepover chez Caroline. Sami sighs she has to put out a fire at Countess W. They will have a rain check for later. Likely tonight. Before Sami
goes back to the office, Lucas would like to have a heart-to-heart talk about their relationship. He recounts the times they have been friends, lovers, enemies. “Now I think that things are really good.” She agrees.
He adds he does not want anything to ruin it. Things can get complicated when one sleeps with one’s best friend. Sami wonders what he means.
He means he hopes they are not just friends with benefits. Sami insists they are more. And if she knew all those years ago what she knows now, she sniffles she could have saved herself a lifetime of complications. He seconds the notion. Sami earnestly states she is now older and wiser and knows what she wants. She truly believes that they have a chance at this romance. Lucas grins and presents her with an unexpected gift. Tis an expensive bracelet. “Here’s to getting it right this time,” says he. Sami is overwhelmed and gets back to kissing him. She is further overwhelmed
to hear the exquisite jewelry is from his grandmother Alice, who had been given it by Tom Horton on their wedding anniversary. Sami is amazed to hear Alice sent it to Lucas as she wanted HER to have it.
- Replay of the man in black handing the administrator the wad of cash. The lie detector administrator explains the polygraph is not admissible but will help the authorities to determine the guilty party. He thanks him for the business and departs. The man in black clasps his hands together.
This is just the beginning ...!
- At the station, Mayor EJ reacts to flunking the lie detector test. He calls it ridiculous. Roman drawls the results are in and he is lying. EJ questions the veracity of the thing. Spencer notes they have heard the results. Will quietly notes there has to be a mistake. Roman is convinced they have finally found Stefano’s murderer and says so! EJ explains he was here to exonerate himself and help the investigation along. They are as flawed as the test! Roman is smug. Rafe silently observes. EJ advises them the test results will not hold up in a court if law. In addition, their machine is in dire need of a tune up. He continues to insist he is innocent. Why would he have agreed to come down and take the test if he really had something to hide? Will voices his agreement. Roman reasons he must have wanted to cast suspicion away from himself but he did not succeed. He is not his father’s son it seems, not quite as slippery, but they now know they are pursuing the right murder suspect! EJ continues to insist he did not kill his fatha! Roman implies he might have offed Stefano for the family name. Will quips he idolized Stefano. Roman sternly reminds Will that EJ almost let him take the fall for his crime. Will stands up for his boss and declares he bailed him out and has helped him in so many ways. Why, if not for him, Roman would not even know he was gay! Roman wonders what his motivation was in helping young Will. EJ accuses Rafe and Spencer and Roman all of seeking to pin the crime on him, as he is a DiMera. He has had enough of the witch hunt. Rafe sarcastically drawls not to leave town. Spencer adds they will be watching his every move. Exit EJ and Will.
- The discussion of EJ as a prime suspect intensifies. Rafe admits he is having some doubts. EJ is usually much more clever than this. Roman concludes he believed he could manipulate the results. Rafe, however, perceived on his face that he did not come here to fail. Roman repeats
he must have tried to cheat and could not. Has Rafe changed his mind?
- Shirtless Dan is kissing Nicole in her bed. Things get and hotter and heavier. They later snuggle nekid under the sheets together. Cute pillow talk ensues but the moment is lost when she brings up Rafe. Dan mutters he wants to keep having a great time. He teases her to tell him how great she is at pool. She suggests another wager. Unless, of course, he is afraid she will beat the pants off him. He drawls he is counting on it and they kiss again. Once they have finished round two, she calls room service for a food order of a banana split and fries She offers to share. As a doctor, he notes that would not be the best thing for his arteries. Nicole points
out they are getting a good work out. Besides, he does not strike her as the kind of guy who worries about what is good for him. He teases if he did, he would not be naked in her bed. Nicole gets testy and promptly
puts her robe on. No one is forcing him here so he can leave if he wishes! He is sorry and regrets those words. She notes the moment was killed
and decides to take a shower. Dan emotionally asks her not to go.
- EJ storms through the town square, being reassured by Will that the polygraph is inadmissible. He growls when the media gets hold of this,
his political career is finished! Will apologizes for the mess. EJ gets snarky about his bright idea. Will points out of he is innocent, there is no need to worry. EJ notes he is very naive. Will adds there is no evidence against him. “Not yet!” snaps EJ. Will realizes he is referring to the fact that he is not Stefano’s son and suddenly asks “Did you kill him?” EJ frowns.
- Sami admires the bracelet on her arm. Lucas recalls how at the time Alice sent it to him, he was in Hong Kong, just over Chloe, while Sami was with Rafe. Alice the wise woman must have known something they didn’t. Sami fondly remembers visiting her when she used to garden. She always listened to her. And she always told her that her determination would get her somewhere one day. It was something she held onto and cherished. Lucas grins she must have known they would find their way back to each other. Sami smiles they did. Lucas declares they are here to stay. They seal the deal with a kiss. Sami lies in his arms on the sofa. He is sure their relationship is going great. She teases she has enough baggage for both of them. He lovingly kisses her head and points out they know everything about each other. Sami is equally excited that he considers her a best friend and thanks him for coming back for her. Lucas jokes would she do the same for him? Ring ring! Sami gets another urgent work call. Lucas wants a kiss for the road. He murmurs not to go and they kiss again.
- Spencer agrees that Rafe has a valid point. They would need concrete evidence in order to prove EJ killed Stefano. Roman admits he has personal involvement and cannot be objective but he knows he did it. Rafe states if he did, then they will find the evidence. “Trust me, I’m not letting him get away with murder!” Roman is a tad miffed the others do not seem to share his commitment to focusing on EJ. Rafe remarks if EJ is guilty, the only way to take him down is by the book. Spencer agrees, as the DiMeras have an impressive legal team. Rafe talks evidence. To take a DiMera down, one must think like a DiMera. Perhaps it is time to start thinking outside of the box. Roman is all for it, provided none of his family members get caught in the crossfire. He stares at the suspects board …
