He rubs his hands and starts to unpack. His hand trembles as he lifts a bottle so he drops it. He now flashes back to Maggie thanking him for saving Philip’s life once upon a time. He had drawled it was a straightforward surgery. Maggie, however, had praised him as a kind hearted and skilled surgeon. But that was then, this is now … Dan gets back to packing. Knock knock! He opens the door to … Nicole! He is admittedly speechless. She sweetly suggests he not say a word and reasons he should not be alone. He explains he is not up for company but she assures him she can sit and read. She will just be here for him, in case. He gasps he needs space, not help. She promises he will get it. He asks her to catch the next ferry … A crash interrupts him and he glances out the window. A heavy tree branch has fallen onto the generator so he exits to investigate. Nicole gushes to take his time and makes herself at home. Maggie comes across Brady at the town square and notes he is positively glowing! He declares he is over the moon and his life has finally turned around … Marlena accuses Kristen of having a plan. Kristen call her paranoid and pours herself a coffee. Marlena accuses her of not getting John and then settling for Brady. She angrily warns her it must stop now! Kristen loudly leers does she mean she is going to tell John? John now approaches the two angry women, a look of consternation on his face. Nicole gets the fire going and answers a knock at the door. She opens it, teasing he must have locked himself out, only to come face to face with Jen! Before Eric goes on his way, EJ has some wisdom to impart. It was not his idea to come to the church and he realizes Samantha may have been heavy handed. Eric jokes he shrugged off her comments and wonders what he wants to say. EJ explains he knows Nicole and he would be wise to heed his sister’s warning. Nicole does not change. And he will see she always goes back to her old tricks in spite of the penitent façade. She is still up to her old tricks. He will see! Eric peers at him. Jen barges into the cabin. Nicole cannot believe she showed up. Jen gasps what she is doing here! She is there to help. Jen snaps she must want to push him off a cliff. Nicole retorts Jen already did that herself. She blames her for Daniel going to pieces. He no longer needs her! Jen gasps she only wants to speak with him for a few minutes. Nicole warns her to leave before he returns. Jen will not let Nicole speak for him but Nicole claims he told her he could not stand to see her face! Daniel hates her and said so. She should do herself a favor and just go! Maggie sits with Brady and wonders what is making him happy. He will only say there have been a few surprises. She hopes he is not letting his guard down but he assures her he is solid. She teases she wants him to spill more. He will only say the future is … interesting ... Kristen feigns surprise when John demands to know what the now silent Marlena was going to tell him. Kristen advises her to just get it over with and eagerly waits. Marlena glares daggers at her. END |
