Eric stands up to give them their privacy. Gabi, however, requests his presence. He repeats he sensed there was something important they were keeping from him. For their own sake, they should speak honestly for it will not go any further. - Adrienne returns to the Kiriakis mansion, surprised to see Kate. Kate coldly explains she delivered a yearend report to Victor and will be on her way. Adrienne informs her that Will spend part of Christmas with them. Kate is still appalled by how she dared to doubt her grandson’s relationship value, but Adrienne has had a change of heart. She declares she was dead wrong about Will and has already apologized. It is her hope that Kate will understand she was being an overprotective mother. She also regrets he overheard what she did not intend for him to hear. He is funny and sweet and just right for her son. Kate admits Adrienne and Justin raised a great kid too. She thinks they are done now. Adrienne adds that one day she wants to give Sonny a wedding. Kate wants that for Will too. Adrienne praises her for being such a fierce advocate. Kate jokes she hopes this does not mean they have to become lunch pals. Adrienne laughs. Exit Kate. - Gabi is on the verge of spilling the beans until she gets the text from Will, assuring her she was right and they must do what is right for the baby! - Brady updates John how after Kristen saved him, he started to see her in a different light. She was not the devil incarnate, but a human being. John bitterly begs to differ. Brady points out that they had their self-destructive pasts in common and thus became fast friends. Things just happened from there. John suspects she was to blame for it all but Brady insists it was him. “I wanted it!” He insists Kristen did not want him to get hurt and did not want this to happen. She was torn, John is utterly disgusted and calls his son naďve. Brady advises him to deal with this. He is relieved it is out in the open and decides to give his father some space to digest it all. Exit Brady. Exasperated John wonders what to do next. He now spies an incoming call from Marlena and frowns. - Kristen purrs to Marlena about her interesting encounter at the office. Marlena has had enough of her talking in circles and demands to know what happened. Kristen grins like a loon. - Will wants Sami to just leave. She wants to know what is going on. He notes she would only screw things up by barging back into the church and reminds her she has been trying to run the show. It is not her place. Sami babbles about wanting Gabi to have their wedding of her dreams, then gasps she knows what is going on. - In the church, Gabi starts to say it is not the best thing to … All of a sudden, Sami storms back in and announces she promised Rafe she would be like a big sister to her. Father Eric is flabbergasted. Will can only watch from the doorway. Sami noisily approaches the girl and offers to tell them how things with her and Nick moved so quickly. She can do that for her. Gabi glances back at browbeaten Will, who is still standing in the doorway. He shakes his head. Gabi explains to intrusive Sami that she would rather tell Father Eric herself. - Kristen leers she would love to give Marlena all the sordid details, but must run. Once she is gone, Hope returns with bottled water. Marlena admits Kristen was there and said precious little. Hope the optimist assumes maybe nothing happened. - Gabi starts to say what has been bothering her. Eric repeats to Sami the intruder to leave. Gabi claims it is alright, then pretends she was lying about how pregnant she was. She did not want the priest to think badly about them, as they had an affair after their first meeting. Sami whispers to Eric Gabi feels badly now. Is he proud of himself! The priest ushers her out, warns her they will discuss later, and shuts the door. Miffed she was unable to take over, Sami the hot head snaps to Will that her holy brother had better get off his high horses with her. Inside, Father Eric apologizes to the young couple for his sister’s interruption. If there is anything else troubling them, they should feel free to tell him now … Pause. They both announce that is all. Gabi is sorry the priest was not given the whole story from the start. Nick assures him they love each other and it would be a tragedy if they could not start their new life together by getting married in the church. Eric grins he has big news to share, which was his reason for summoning them. It is official. The bishop has given his consent. He would be happy to marry them in the church! The young couple is elated. - Marlena is relieved when John answers his phone and anxiously asks if he went to Brady’s office as planned. He drawls he did but they will have to talk later. Click! Marlena stares. - Love machine Brady saunters back into his now empty office. No Kristen awaits.“Where did she go…?” - Kristen jiggles into her hotel room, clad in a skintight dress, and pours herself a big glass of champagne gushing there is already so much to celebrate. “Happy New Year, Kristen!” - Nosy Sami is spying on the group inside the church. Will warns her against peeking in as she could get them excommunicated. She claims she is not snooping but is pleased to report that Nick and Gabi look happy. Will notes that is a good thing. Sami assures him he can stop worrying about Gabi and focus on Sonny. He grins that would be awesome. She asks if they are going out to ring in the new year. Of course. He wonders about her plans. Sami reluctantly states she too is going out … with EJ. She is surprised that Will does not appear to disapprove. He will not judge and airily adds he is starting to see that not everything is black and white. He wishes her a happy new year and goes on his way. - Marlena bursts into Brady’s office. He is trying to reach Kristen on the phone and explains he has no time. Marlena will not be easily dismissed and demands to know what is going on. - Kristen looks down at her phone and realizes Brady was just trying to reach her. Pounding is heard on her door and she muses it cannot be him. She now opens the door to John and meets his glare ... END |
