He cries to Marlena he loves her so much, hugs her, and departs. Once he has left, Marlena breaks down in tears and says she loves him too. Will ends up sitting at the pub all alone. Sonny sits beside him and asks if he is alright. Will seems to want to be alone even though Sonny informs him the gang is at the town square. He wonders how he is doing with the break up and suggests he give it time. Will laments he feels like an idiot that he lost his girlfriend and could not feel what he was supposed to feel. Things were just not right. Sonny asks what he means. Sonny's friend Tyler now arrives late and sits next to Sonny. The guys laugh and have fun. Will blinks. - Stefano boasts to John that he and the fair Marlena will always share an unbreakable bond. John drawls he is a fool. Stefano continues with his mind games. Then why did she accept his help and not even tell him? The man she always turns to in times of trouble is evidently not her husband. John whispers perhaps he is right and then picks up the gun. He points it at his adversary and mutters it is his time. Stefano taunts him to do what he has dreamed of for years. John stops. He will not give him the satisfaction of breaking up him and Marlena, even if it meant him dying to do it. He knows he was playing mind control games, shoves the chess pieces aside, and growls he does not owe him a damn thing! Exit the former pawn. Stefano takes out the promissory note to Alice and reads it again. He gets a strange, knowing look in his eye. - Kate makes a reference to the dark and tells Dan he knows where to find her. He calmly informs her he is not afraid of the dark. Mel approaches. Kate takes her leave. Mel wonders what that was about. Dan has no idea! They sit and she would like to know about the test results. They were inconclusive and he will have nothing more until the new year. He asks about her. Mel admits there is someone she cares about more than she should and she does not believe anything will ever come from it! Why is she so sure? Mel now admits he is dating her best friend. Dan realizes the guy is Chad. He tries to encourage her, but she is certain there is no hope. Why does love have to be so hard? Dan sighs he does not know ... - Meanwhile, Professor Austin gives interested Gabi the book and gets to the university. Chad thanks him for the ride and steps away to take a call. Abigail now asks Gabi to lend her the book cos she would really like to read it. - At the pub, Sonny and Tyler happily talk about hairstyles and a party they are planning to attend. They invite Will. He is not sure, but becomes rather interested in their witty exchanges. - A cold winter wind blows outside. John returns to the condo and comes up behind Marlena. "I'm sorry." She was right, for he would have done the same for her in a heartbeat. She cries and they hold each other tight as snow falls outside the window. - Meanwhile, Stefano sits in his chair at the fireplace, smoking his cigar. He stares at an envelope addressed from Alice Horton to Stefano DiMera and laughs wickedly ...! Rafe grins to Sami he feels this will be the best year yet. "You're gonna have to swear to me that you will not tell anyone!" says Will to Marlena. |
