BUSTED - Part 2 - John is baffled that Marlena did not remember he already informed her that Kristen and Brady were working together on the church board. She pretends she merely forgot. John’s eyes narrow and he hopes there is nothing else. She makes light of it. John realizes this might not be easy, but the work Brady and Kristen are doing to help build that school is important. Eric now approaches their table and John steps away to check in with Hope. Eric takes a seat and mother Marlena notices his fatigue. He promises to catch up on his sleep later. First he must finish working on the Christmas mass. Marlena is proud. They all are. Father Eric now asks her to partake in Nick and Gabi’s Pre-Cana session with John. She quips she would rather chew glass. - Meanwhile, John reminds Hope that Bo has unfinished business and suggests she might be trying to snow him about that family holiday he got a head start on. - As EJ and Sami sit by the town square Christmas tree, she makes a snide remark about his father slithering his way back into his life. She cannot believe he seems to have forgiven him. EJ makes it crystal clear that he is not breaking away from his family. It is not going to happen! The kids are running around the town square the way hyper children do on the holidays. Sami laughs and reminds Johnny to be nice to his sister. EJ grins. Sami now reminds EJ that he has been so happy lately without Stefano in his life. EJ explains being with her and the children is what has made him happy. Sami gets sarcastic about his sister, the woman who tried to murder her mother too. EJ explains he shall not denounce his family and likens himself to Lexie, who embraced the clan while shunning some of their ways. To conclude, he will always be a DiMera. “The people who love me are just going to have to accept that.” Sami’s eyes lock with his across the table. - Hope turns away. John drawls he sees she is worried about Bo. She will only say that her husband has her full support. They are looking forward to focusing on their family for Christmas and she advises John to do the same. She wishes him a Merry Christmas with a hug. ... John saunters back to Marlena’s side as Eric tries to convince her to consent to join the pre-Cana session. John drapes his arm around the blonde and is all for it. Eric thinks they could both help the groom especially. John agrees. Eric says thank you. Marlena teases she will not forget this! - Back at Kristen’s room, she suggests Brady not close the door to his other options. He spies the present and opens it, assuming it is for him. He opens the box and finds a toy truck, Kristen is almost reduced to tears. Brady wonders what is the matter. She cries she just wanted to have the truck. She was remembering her own little boy. She wipes away a tear and laments she cannot have kids. He knows. She thinks he should keep his options open for he would be a great dad. Brady reasons if they got to that point, they could consider adoption. Besides, they are getting ahead of themselves. Right now all he wants is her. He hugs her and she calls him sweet, a devious glint in her eye. He kisses her and they proceed to disrobe. - Outside the pub, Dan and Jen lovingly tug at each others’ lapels and make sweet talk.They are about to kiss when their phones ring in unison. He teases it is her fault he is on surgical rotation and was called to duty. Before he leaves, Jen invites him and Maggie and Victor to attend a traditional Horton Christmas. He is thrilled and notes it takes place in the afternoon. He and Maggie have a video chat with Mel in the morning. He adds they can spend even more time together over the holidays. Jen thinks it will be a Merry Christmas indeed! Dan gives her one last look before walking off to the hospital. “Damn, you’re pretty!” She blushes. - EJ concedes Samantha was right that he is happy. She adds she is glad, however long it will last. Silent Night plays in the background and he muses he has also stopped blaming others for his mistakes. EJ starts to say she too has changed but is interrupted when Johnny throws him a ball. Sami watches with admiration and he goes to play with his son. - Hope is on a case at the hospital, where Dr. Dan is back in action! She is checking up on a perp who crashed after tying to steal a load of Christmas trees. She thanks the medicine man for saving cousin Jen’s life.He asks if she will be at the Horton Christmas this year. Hope replies she and Bo will be joining Shawn D et al and marvels the good doctor will be at the Horton Christmas. She raises an eyebrow. Did Jen invite him? She suspects she did upon perceiving the smile on his face and wishes the doctor a Merry Christmas. He wishes the detective the same. - Eric gratefully shakes John’s hand, and thanks both him and Marlena. He will contact them with the time and will see them both at the rectory. He kisses his mother and departs. John wonders if Marlena is okay with this. She surely is if he is. He sagely states that they are still together after weathering many a storm. He credits the fact that they love each other and harbor no secrets! He hugs Marlena, who stares with worry. - Brady must get dressed and get back to work. Kristen, now standing in her robe, will miss him, and they cannot stop kissing. She opens the door but he shuts it. She opens it again as they smooch, their arms wrapped around each other. There stands Jen. She stares in shock. Kristen and Brady stop and stare back, equally horrified that they have been BUSTED! END |
