Gabi having a baby with Nick must seem bittersweet to him. He denies it and excuses himself. Gabi notices and wants to go after him. Possessive Nick offers to accompany her. Sami now informs the pair that Caroline is letting them hold the reception at the pub. Caroline wants to go over the menu items. Gabi asks Nick to do that and takes off after Will. Abigail is amazed that Daniel saved Jen by operating in the cabin. She wonders whether they are okay now. Jen recounts she went to the cabin and it was not going well. It sees so foggy yet she somehow senses he has forgiven her … Dam finds Nicole sitting alone in the waiting area. She asks after Jen and forces a smile upon hearing that she will make a full recovery. He compliments her scrub nursing ability and adds he could not have done it without her. When he starts to leave, she stops him. Through her tears, she tells him how happy she is for him that he can be a surgeon and also reconcile with the woman he loves. Jennifer! She goes on to explain she felt all along that Jen was the one he loved. She just felt she should give it another shot. He realizes that was why she showed up at the cabin. Nicole now cries she heard Jen say she loved him when she woke up and heard him say the same! Dan shrugs his shoulders and drawls he did not know she was there. Nicole takes the high road and wishes him only happiness with Jen. He is the most amazing man she has ever met and he deserves to be happy. She holds his face in her hands and then takes off in tears. Sonny is clearing off a table at his coffee house when Gabi waltzes in. She asks him to tell the non-present Will to call her. Sonny glares at her. “Why? Do you have another secret you want him to keep for you!” She frowns and wonders if something is bothering him. Will glumly strolls through the town square alone. Chad appears and sarcastically brings up what Sonny let slip about pregnant Gabi and her shotgun wedding. He is suspicious that Nick was mad at her and notes Sonny did not want to discuss whether he thought she had purposely trapped Nick. Will insists it was an accident and a surprise to all. Chad considers, then poses another question. “Why are you so wrapped up in all this?!” Precisely what is his involvement? Will calmly replies he was the one Gabi first confided in. They are friends. Chad wonders if that was why Nick was angry. Will quips he did not like how things came out. Chad understands. Will now urges him, as a friend, to leave Gabi alone. Chad assures him he will, pretends he was merely curious, and goes on his DiMera way. Gabi haughtily asks if Sonny is angry with her. He will only say he does not approve of her trying to draw Will into her drama. And if she ever hurts him, they WILL have a problem! Rafe approaches Nick at the pub and updates him on the meeting with the parish priest he set up. Nick appreciates it. Caroline emerges and Rafe gives her a big bear hug. Caroline reminds Nick he has a job to do. He gets back to work. Rafe sighs he is trying. Caroline is sure he will do right by Gabi as he is a nice boy and he loves his sister. She now giggles about Sami’s drill sergeant approach to wedding planning. Rafe praises her for helping Gabi but Caroline points out she is doing it really for him! Sami now walks out to talk appetizers, thes notices Rafe. He grins. She blushes and returns his gaze. Maggie apologizes to Jen in her hospital room. She gathers that sedated Jen does not remember Dan’s treatment worked after all. She weeps with joy that the tremors are gone. Jen is amazed. Maggie concedes she was right. She will never be able to repay her! They are emotional. Rafe appreciates Sami’s help and lets her know. She proudly boasts she has made progress and invites him to take a look at her notes. He grins he does not need to see, for he trusts her. Sami suddenly laments he did not trust her when it mattered the most, however, walks away. The moment has fizzled. Chad arrives outside the coffee house as Gabi presses busy Sonny to explain why he is upset with her. She argues she did not want news to spread of her pregnancy until those close to her learned of it. Sonny snaps her MO recently became crystal clear. He warns he will be watching her from now on, for Wills sake! Gabi turns and spies Chad standing outside. She sighs. Nicole is at the rectory, having an emotional breakdown. Enter Eric. She collapses in his arms, sobbing she always ends up alone. He holds her, affected by the depth of her despair. Dan visits Jen and places his hand on hers. She explains Maggie gave her the good news and places her other hand on his. Dan leans over and puts his face close to hers, kissing her on the cheek. Jen stares up at him with her trusting blue eyes. Dan calls what she has done a veritable Christmas miracle. “You have given me my whole life back!” declares the medicine man. The widow whispers she was just returning the favor. Her memory of their moment at the cabin appears to be foggy - for now! END |
