Chad plays with Mel's hand and she assures him she is not jealous or mad. Those girls love him and hate her. Gabi joins theme and taunts she hopes Mel is not letting those internet comments get to her. She recounts how when they had a photo shoot at the lake, the girls were swarming her boyfriend. If she were her ... Will comes back and notes Gabi is not Mel. Mel hugs Chad and sweetly vows she will not let any girl steal him away. Will sits back down with Gabi and warns her it is hopeless for her to pursue Chad. She claims they belong together. Will sighs his mom does the same, chasing after the wrong guys, guys who do not want her, and it always ends in disaster. If Gabi wants to go that route, then she is on her own! He needs to go and strongly suggests she give up. Exit Will. Gabi gets a strange look in her eye and decides it is all up to her now! - Ian is on his phone, telling someone he cut ties with Madison, so they may now set the next phase of their plan in motion! Kate enters and he stands up in surprise. He notes she looks awful and lends her an ear. She laments Stefano threw her out and took both companies away. Now what will she do? Ian sympathetically takes her hand. She blinks her teary eyes and updates him on the fidelity test, how she failed. Ian drawls she is better off without him. Kate points out they were not having problems before Ian came to town. Ian calls Stefano a vicious old man. Kate reminds him he behaved the same way with Madison. Ian sighs he is doing right now by granting her a divorce. He is in love with Kate! Kate thinks he only wanted to get her in bed with those words. He did indeed, but he also happens to love her and wants to prove it to her. Kate reminds him she is broke and her life is a mess. He claims all that matters is for them to be together. She woefully warns him she is high maintenance. He points out he is filthy rich and can start by buying her a new wardrobe, to replace the one Stefano tossed in the trash. She fears she will not be happy for a long time. Ian now talks revenge. She could go after Stefano with his help! Kate is interested. She points out Stefano would come after him. Ian will only say that Stefano will regret the day he hurt her! Kate starts to smile. - Brady is at the pub when he gets an unexpected text from Madison, who wants to meet him with the news. He arrives at her room and she hugs him. Ian is letting her go! Brady thinks it is too easy. Madison tells him of the lawyer. Brady wonders if he is after the company. Madison thinks he saw the light because she wants Brady. He is thrilled, kisses her, and carries her to the bed. They later lie together in their bliss, nekid under the sheets. He suspects there is something in this for Ian, but she would rather discuss them. If his offer is still on the table, there is a good chance she would say yes. He caresses her face and informs her it is not too late. "Will you marry me?" She would love to and they kiss on it. - Back at the mansion, a drama unfolds. EJ wonders why his own father would sabotage him. Stefano remains cryptic. EJ does not know who he is anymore. He had assumed he loved his children, so why would he try pull the rug out from underneath him? The phoenix chuckles he did the same to him. In fact, when he was running for mayor, he acted like he did not know him, not to mention that he did not confide in him about his effort to take down John Black. EJ explodes. He was working to prove to him that he could lead the family! Stefan coldly notes he failed and adds he now knows he will never be the head of this family. EJ snaps he hopes he will live long, in that case. Stefano reasons there is still Chad, even if he is not as good as Elvis. EJ concludes he must be threatened by him. Why else do all this? He exclaims he has stuck by him and deserves to know what he has done to deserve such shabby treatment. Stefano warns him he does not wish to know. EJ wonders how he will explain this to Sydney and Giovanni. Stefano grumbles he will explain nothing. Exasperated, EJ concludes what he did was serious. Stefano explains the failure is not EJ's fault, it is his (Stefano's) fault, "for not being careful enough." EJ notices he is treating him like a complete stranger. He lashes out that he no longer feels like a father to him anyway. Exit upset EJ. Now alone, Stefano solemnly shuts the door, then approaches his desk and sits down. He unlocks the drawer and gingerly removes an envelope, from which he draws a few papers. He opens the letter and sighs to the heavens. "You're right. Elvis. I'm not like a father to you because, to my everlasting sorrow, you are not my son!" He tragically shakes his head and weeps ... END |
