Aiden wakes up beside Hope in bed as the morning sun streams in. She tells him he was tossing and turning and wonders what is bothering him. Ominous music plays in the background ... Rafe wakes up at his desk at the police station. He rubs his neck, hears the phones ringing, and sighs at the picture of Serena lying stone cold dead in the roses ... Abigail gasps awake after dreaming of Chad trying to flee with cash, Justin arresting him. Ben wants to hear all about her bad dream, worried about the baby ... When Chad comes out of the shower, his hair combed and wet, he also comes across Stefano sitting in his room. Chad gets sarcastic as the phoenix offers to help him since the DA is against him, building a strong case as they speak. He would like to stop the bad publicity for the DiMera name. Chad quips too late for that but Stefano speaks of the future not the past. Chad reminds him he denounced him the other day. Stefano smiles he has since had a change of heart. Chad suspiciously asks what he wants in return for this unsolicited assistance. Stefano does not miss a beat. He advises his boy to go after what he wants in his heart of hearts - that is the fair Abigail as well as her Irish land inheritance. Chad scoffs and turns him down but Stefano has a question he wants an honest answer to from the youngest DiMerrrrra. Did he do it, did he kill her ...? Chad looks even more insulted ... Abigail airily explains she had morning sickness and asks for animal crackers. Besotted Ben has a bag nearby and proudly points out he will be with her at today's doctor appointment and the next and the next. They agree the baby is the most important thing in the world and she sits on his lap. Ben kisses his ponytail baby mama and fails to notice the faraway look in her eyes ... Steve stares at the sky with soulful eyes, then greets his son Joey at the park. He is grateful he came. Joey sulks and gives him the silent treatment as his father assures him he loves him. He intends to get them to a plane of understanding. Joey scoffs ... Hope assumes her inability to say yes to his proposal is putting some sort of pressure on Aiden. He denies it and gushes he is so glad to be this in love with her. She is worth waiting for. Hope feels lucky and lies in his arms. feeling secure. Aiden is making all the right moves ... D.A. Justin bellows at Rafe for not arresting Chad. He accuses the down-to-earth detective of overdoing trying to act impartial or just ignoring the evidence. They have a witness who saw him argue with Serena and then there is the blood on the napkin. Rafe raises his own voice, noting there is no motive nor did the necktie that strangled Serena contain any DNA. It was clearly a crime of passion ... Suited Eric appears to be in a stupor of sorrow when he later steps into Rafe's office. The detective has laid some of Serena's belongings on a desk in case Eric can tell them anything at all. Eric woefully recalls how she had wanted one of her pictures to one day mean something. Now that is all the police have to go on - her picture in death surrounded by pretty flowers ...Chad is alone in his room and places an important call. He is painfully aware he needs an attorney ... Ben fawns over Abigail as they wait for her appointment at the hospital. Big Ben has yogurt ready and a smile for the midwife. He is stuck to Abigail like glue ... Joe is bitter about being left behind while his father went off to save the world like a superhero. Steve explains it was not like that, he was trying to help (in the ISA) and adds he did send packages from all his locations to let his son know he was thinking of him. Joe thunders he threw them out and tells him this is too little too late. He storms off and Steve the super spy realizes something ... The Salem planning committee for the bicentennial convenes at the club for coffee and conversation. They regret Jen resigning. Maggie assures them she is there for her kids in this trying time. Julie now notes Joey is in town. Kayla tells the ladies he is not leaving, he is done with boarding school, staying in Salem. Now Julie jumps in with the latest on .... Hope's engagement! Caroline frowns. Julie and Maggie go on about Hope having to hold the wedding during the festivities - until she manages to get a word in edgewise, explaining she did not say yes. She needs more time. Caroline's eyes brighten. Julie and Maggie apologize for their insensitivity. Before departing, Hope takes Caroline aside to insist her holding off has nothing to do with Bo. It has to do with not being ready. Caroline pleasantly departs. Hope returns to the table ... D.A. Justin arranges to meet Chad at the town gate. He gets aggressive about him being guilty and pushes him to confess to strangling Serena after she said no. Chad points out he is being polite with Sonny's papa but he is INNOCENT. He is the wrong guy so leave him alone ... Abe appears, having heard the commotion. Chad accuses the new D.A. of being drunk with power ... Hope tells the committee ladies that she loves being in love. They propose a toast TO LOVE ... Outside the club Caroline cannot remember her iphone passcode. She has two wrong tries. Victor tenderly tells her to try Bo's birth date, which happens to be his. 11/05. It works like a charm. Caroline heads back to the pub cross with herself for forgetting ... Chad meets his new attorney at the town square. He sits with Aiden, who insists he tell him everything about that fateful night ... Chad sighs he and Serena were sad, drowning their sorrows, shared a kiss, but then when he got frisky for another kiss, she slapped him hard. She ran out and he ran after her for an explanation but that is where he draws a blank. He remembers waking up in his hotel room the next morning. Aiden wants to continue at his office later and advises his client to repeat his story to no one. Just say I AM INNOCENT. He will take care of the rest ... Abe accuses Justin of overdoing it and reminds him he is supposed to be respectable in his new post. The D.A. drawls Chad is Abe's brother-in-law. Abe exclaims he only had drinks with the girl. He advises the new D.A. not to make such a public spectacle but Justin is a true blue Kiriakis! He declares he will take down all the DiMeras, starting with Chad ... Eric gasps why would anyone want to kill Serena! Rafe admits they have a suspect in Chad. However, the evidence is only circumstantial. Eric suspected Xander. Rafe replies he was locked up at the time. Eric decides then Chad DiMera it is. He simply needs someone to blame ... Steve storms over to the Kiriakis mansion to confront Victor for having him followed by one of his men. Victor demands to know the real reason he is back in Salem. Steve agrees to play his game of questions but only if he enlightens him on what the hell has happened to BO ...Kayla and Hope converse about their lives. Hope updates her on how Steve gave Aiden the evil eye, stating he was Bo's best friend. Kayla suspects if Bo were here he would stand by Steve but no way is she opening herself to that hurt again ... Aiden gets up to return to the office. Ben and Abigail arrive. Ben makes a comment about Chad needing a lawyer proving his guilt. Abigail wishes to leave but stops when she spies Eric standing in Chad's way. He quietly accuses him of killing Serena the other night. ... Hope is back at the office. She gets a gift box with a watch inside and smiles at the message in the beautiful red velvet box. WE HAVE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD MY LOVE. She smiles it must be from Aiden. Above her is a picture advertising the Salem Bicentennial. It looks brighter than usual ... Aiden steps forward and suggests Eric refrain. Eric is disgusted he would defend the bastard and storms off. Then something happens that gives Chad reason to hope ... A Chabby Moment THE END!
