Sami races up and bellows they have lost their minds. Carrie accuses Austin of not sharing what he already knew - that John was going to be arrested. Austin feels terrible he was unable to release that confidential information. Carrie reminds him John is like her father and she would have done something. Now he has been arrested in public! Nearby, EJ gleefully tells Kate what is happening and proceeds to call Stefano, who has left the gathering. Kate thinks his smugness is rather cruel. Maggie cannot believe what is happening. Neither can Victor. He lets her know that his proposal is a standing offer. They will talk later. Maggie wants to go support her good friend Marlena. As the gawkers stare, the photographers snap pictures, John is led away by Rafe and Roman. Sami consoles Marlena as the cameras flash. Marlena now follows him, determined to stay close to her man. Sami asks Abe what is going on. Carrie updates her that he is being accused of embezzlement, misappropriation of pension funds. EJ quietly watches. Sami is upset that Rafe must have known. Abe and Lexie head off to get to the bottom of things. - At Horton house, Dan is sorry this happened to Jen. She is used to it from insensitive, irresponsible Jack, her ex-husband. She decides to stop talking about him. Knock knock knock! Dan opens the door to JACK! The doctor drawls this is not the time. Jack bursts in regardless and exclaims Jen must get rid of him so they can talk! Jen airily claims she is busy. He implores her to listen. Jen eventually agrees and assures Dan she can handle him. Dan kisses her and departs. Jen snaps at Jack to be quick. It made her sick to have to explain to their children that he walked out on her. And then there was his stupid blog. Where the hell has he been all this time? "I WAS HELD HOSTAGE!" Jack shouts. Now he has her undivided attention. - Still at the town square, Sami calls Caroline with the news. She runs into EJ, who says he is sorry but she thinks he is enjoying every minute. She spies his poster for mayor and wonders if this is a joke. No. Sami doubts anyone would vote for a corrupt criminal like him, instead of the upstanding Abe. She accuses him of torturing his brother-in-law. EJ points out he is doing this for family. She should understand about family. That is his motivation. He adds he is taking a page from her book, with an attempt at redemption. He hopes he has her support. Sami stares at him in disbelief. - Meanwhile, Kate and Austin talk and he complains that Carrie is angry with him. Kate suggests she is overreacting. He reminds Kate she tries to off her daughter-in-laws. Kate is hurt that he throws things in her face when she wants to make him feel better. Austin worries all is lost in this situation, which could go from bad to worse. He happens to be the forensics accountant on the case and if it goes to trial, he might have to testify against John! - At the Kiriakis mansion, Vic pours himself a drink and assumes Brady will show his moral support for John by going to the station. Brady thinks there is no point. Vic suspects something is going on. Brady laments John has been on his case, as he does not approve of how he has been running things. Victor does not think that should surprise him. Brady claims he has someone monitoring the situation for now. In an attempt to change the subject, he asks if Maggie said yes. Victor replies she had no time to answer, and had to attend to her friend Marlena. But all will be well when he gets the answer he is waiting for! He has a good stiff drink to calm his nerves ... - Carrie, Marlena, Lexie, Maggie, and Abe gather at the station. Abe goes to see what he can do. Marlena is worried about what the stress will do to John. She is grateful when Dr. Lexie offers to check on him. - Bo and Hope face John in an interrogation room. They have not been informed of any of this and are bothered by the behavior of the FBI. John admits he and Marlena were aware of an investigation, but assumed there would be no problem, as he is innocent of any wrongdoing. Roman and Abe are sympathetic. Roman remarks the FBI cannot have much of a case. John pauses. - At the station, Sami joins Carrie and Marlena, livid that Rafe did not tell her he had to arrest John! Austin has arrived and gives them a guilty look. Rafe is now alone with John and feels badly he was ordered to arrest him in the last minute. He will help him as much as he can. Elsewhere, the other FBI agent assures Bo, Hope, Abe and Roman that there is enough evidence to prove that John is guilty as charged! Bo is frustrated. - Back at the Kiriakis mansion, Victor is admittedly relieved that Brady is not busy with John's problems. They have that new project in the works and he is ready to seal the deal with the CEO! Brady is all for it. - Kate and EJ are back at the elegant DiMera mansion. She teases he is all over the blogs with Patty, then comes across someone else in a photo. EJ wonders who she is. Kate tells herself no way would SHE be in Salem! - At the station, Carrie gives Sami and Rafe their space, not wanting to get in the middle of their problems. Sami is angry. Rafe understands. She wants to know why it had to be him. He humiliated his father-in-law in public! Rafe explains he did not refuse the assignment as he felt John would be better off with family instead of another agent. Besides, he tried to contact her. Where was she? Sami concedes he is right and there is no reason for them to fight. Rafe pulls her back when she starts to go to Marlena. She still has not answered where she was. She confesses she had a follow-up interview. Rafe grimaces. She said nothing about it and knew fully well how he felt about that dodgy ad. She lied to him! Sami is sorry. But it went very well. He would be happier for her if the company told her their name. They still have not, though she believes they are big and established. He is curious what exactly her position will be. Sami has no answer and just wants him to be happy for her. Rafe is exasperated she does not seem to realize they are hiding something from her. She needs to wait until he has it checked out. Sami fumes that he is trying to give her orders. Rafe is summoned back to work before he can elaborate. - In another room, Bo and Hope are surprised to see Dr. Dan. Hope is sorry she forgot to tell him that Dr. Lexie already came for John. Dan informs them that Jack is back. They are shocked to hear it. Bo muses he has not changed. Hope doubts he will be able to talk his way out of abandoning his family. - Back at Horton house, Jen assumes Jack is lying. He begs her to listen. She gives him two minutes. He reminds her of his investigative story on the opium trade in Afghanistan. He had lied to her that he hit a dead end. That was why he made up the story about the walkabout - so she would not be in danger and would not know he was undercover. However, once in Afghanistan, he was taken hostage, and was only recently rescued. He immediately returned to her. Jen thinks that is unbelievable. Plus, she hates his beard! He points out he would have come up with a better lie. Besides, she knows when he is lying and she knows he is not! Jen looks at him, wide-eyed. - Back at DiMera mansion, Kate laments to EJ that Madison James, of Mad World Cosmetics, is in town. She must have heard that she had a business venture and is up to sabotage. Kate suspects she is on a search and destroy mission, with Countess Wilhelmina as her target! - Maggie arrives at the Kiriakis mansion and wants to know if Brady will go see John.
