Madison throws in a paper airplane, confessing he was right. She wants a truce. He is amused. She concedes she was upset. Now her head is clear and she agrees it is best to keep Mad World based in Salem. Kate will not run her out of town. Brady is pleased cos things were just getting interesting! She thanks him for talking sense into her. It was nice he looked after her. Brady still wants to know her next move. She plans to cut into Kate's local market share. She intends to show Salem she can be a homegrown company too. Brady suggests they let people come from all over the world and see how Mad World cosmetics are made. Madison likes it. Beats Kate's product display at Quinn's dinky day spa! Brady exits, and she mutters she also has a backup plan! Brady soon comes back and she invites him for a bite to eat. He is confused, as she had informed him she did not socialize with biz partners. She, however, is in the mood to break some rules tonight ... - Jen paces at the house, wearing boots, nervously waiting. A fireplace warms the cozy Horton living room. She is soon surprised to see Bo and Hope, who are surprised Daniel has not yet arrived for his date with her. Jen fears he stood her up and decides at least she could help them finish going through Alice's things. Knock knock! Tis Dan, who is sorry he did not call. He left his phone at home. She is relieved he had not given up on her and kisses him on the lips. In the other room, Bo is going through boxes. Hope, who is nosy about what is being said between Dan and Jen, wants to get some more boxes. She ushers Bo upstairs. Dan enters the living room and shows Jen the reason he is late. He procured two tickets to a symphony. Jen prettily smiles and he is glad to see it. They kiss again. Bo and Hope return with more boxes. They update Dan about the mysterious baby picture and DiMera gift to Alice. Hope is convinced the answers are in the boxes. Dan notes that is a lot of stuff to go through. Jen is sorry to bail, as she would love to stick around and see what other things they find. Dan assures Jen they can go to the symphony another time. He would enjoy talking to her just as much without violins playing. Jen thinks that is wonderful and they kiss. Bo suggests they order out for food. Dan heads to the kitchen with Bo to look at the menus. Jen and Hope sit together and she gushes this is dreamy. Dan comes back and helps. He is surprised to see old pictures of mother Maggie. The gang tell him how she lost her parents in an accident and then met Mickey while living on a farm. Dan thinks she is even more remarkable. Jen notes that there must be things Maggie does not know about him. She has missed him and blushes when he takes her hand and drawls he missed her. Dan praises Bo and Hope for discovering that Maggie was his bio-mom. Hope insists it was all gran's doing! They look at more pictures and papers. Dan finds wedding pictures, including one of Maggie, Bo and Hope, then the official wedding portrait of Jen and Jack. Jen takes it and her face falls. - Marlena finds Jack at the pub, drowning his sorrows. He cancelled his appointment with her. Jack politely explains he would rather be left in peace and drinks his beer. Marlena gets herself a coffee and refuses to leave. Jack laments Jen having a date with Dan has spoiled his mood. He is not ready to deal with demons. Marlena perceives he is drinking a lot. She acknowledges that being held captive in Afghanistan must have been traumatizing, yet he will not find peace until he deals with it. She presses why he did not follow up on their appointment. He replies she charges by the hour and admits the booze is helping him forget. Marlena reminds him Jen thinks he runs away from his problems. "Out of sight, out of mind, that's my motto!" says charming Jack. The talk now turns to his role models. His biological father was abusive. His adopted father was even worse. He recalls how he was raised by a serial killing politician. Harper was always in control of everything. Then to discover how he really was ... Marlena points out it must have been hard to deal with the betrayal of a lifelong trust. Jack stammers about fearing he would let people down. Or what if they let him down? Marlena declares they are getting somewhere. Jack sighs she tricked him into spilling his guts. Dr. Marlena demurely sips her coffee and points out he wanted to talk. Jack thinks they should speak in private. She suggests the townhouse. It will be quiet and peaceful there. - At the town square café, Brady and Madison slowly enjoy dessert. Sexual tension fills the night air. Brady teases Salem has some things you cannot find anywhere else. Madison giggles and feeds him some of her pineapple upside down cake. He calls it incredible, then feeds her some of his coconut mousse. Their eyes lock and she agrees it is good. They decide to share their tropical desserts, which make Brady feel like his is lying on the beach. Brady now proposes a toast. To breaking rules and the power of the subconscious. They drink to that! - At the house, Jen quietly complains to Hope that Dan found the picture of her and Jack's wedding. She just hates having two men in her life! Hope is sympathetic. Is she closer to a decision? Jen laments she is as confused as ever. Jen thinks Hope is lucky, as she always knew Bo was the man for her. Hope agrees he is the only man she has ever loved and ever will. Jen notes she used to say the same about Jack. Hope assures her she will make the right decision. - Marlena and Jack enter the townhouse. He sits on the sofa, then stands up and looks at John and Marlena's picture. Marlena thanks him when he informs her he went to see John. Jack thought he was holding up well. Marlena points out John is just pretending not to be bothered in prison, as he hates confined spaces. Jack suddenly flashes back to being flogged while hanging in the Afghan cave. Marlena notices. Jack starts to gasp. She suggests he write down what happened if he would rather not talk. Jack gets tense and does not want to go back to that past in any way, shape, or form. - At the house, Hope shows Dan the picture of the baby whose identity they do not know. Dan does not know who it is either. Hope now opens a box and finds a book in which there is a letter from Susan Banks in London to Alice. The gang wonder why on earth EJ's biological mother was writing her a letter. Time to read it ...! Read Part 2 - click here! |
