CHEATERS PART 1 - Rafe is at Carrie's hotel room to bring her the magazine she left at the loft, as she requested. She admits it was really an excuse to get him there. They need to talk. They have to convince the public that John was unfairly convicted. However, she cannot pay him this time, as the firm is no longer in. She realizes it is not fair to ask ... Rafe grins she had him when she called about the mag. It is all about family so he is in! Carrie wonders how Sami will feel about it. Rafe is sure it will be fine. He praises selfless John for protecting his family. Carrie regrets not being able to pay him, but he will hear none of that talk. They are ready to get to work. Carrie wants them to go over the prosecution's log of places the transactions supposedly occurred. They will require something physical to get the case reopened. In addition, their sole witness went back to Switzerland when John pleaded guilty. They sit on the big bed together, where there is more room. Rafe stares at the picture of John at the Paris café, and suddenly realizes there are no shadows as there would have been at that time of day. Carrie is impressed. But how does he think Sami will take to them working together like this? - Nicole is at the spa. Head honcho Quinn approaches and asks if she would like to book a massage. She gets snarky. He suggests something to help get rid of her stress. He notes she has been trying to keep him away from EJ and wonders what she would say if someone would tell her to keep away from EJ. Quinn has a twinkle in his eye. Nicole retorts she is only there to make sure that his business is legit and EJ will not regret supporting him. Quinn points out they are making a profit. He wants to make people feel better. He mentions that he heard all about her history with EJ from Taylor and that is why he is now questioning her judgment about proceeding in any kind of relationship with her ex. Nicole calls him a low rank criminal and walks out, but she cannot help but be affected. She walks into the town square and bumps into Patty the Matchmaker Millionaire chick. Patty asks if Nicole is working for EJ. Indeed, she does tha PR on his campaign. Patty remarks he cares for her. She also knows that Nicole did not give him her message about a date she had for him. Is there a reason she is keeping him all to herself? Nicole confesses she did not pass on the message. She and EJ have been doing a dance around each other. Their relationship was toxic before. Patty thinks that was in the past. They seem to be on the brink of a new future together. Nicole appreciates it. She yearns to believe that EJ would change, but she might be crazy to trust him again. She asks Patty's professional opinion. - At the town square café, Will has found Marlena. He is sorry about John. Marlena smiles at the plaque of Tom and Alice, as she has been seeking strength. She invites Will to keep her company. He is happy to oblige and they walk off to get some snacks. Once at the townhouse, Will wonders why John pleaded guilty even though he did nothing wrong. Marlena explains sometimes people do things it is hard to understand. Will can relate. Marlena has noticed something has been weighing on his mind. Perhaps the popcorn they are enjoying will help loosen his tongue? Young Will sighs. Marlena gently presses, reminding him about those mysterious issues he mentioned in one of his letters. Will claims he was wondering if his feelings for Gabi were what Gabi felt for him. He confesses he does not want a relationship with anyone! It just seems pointless, as things only get messed up. Marlena is curious why he thinks that. Will points out all his parents' relationships have failed. Now his mom has Rafe but does not even deserve him! Marlena wonders why he feels that way ... - Suited EJ opens the door of the mansion to Samantha, whom he was on his way to see. She enters, announcing they need to talk and quietly states what they did was wrong. This is like a nightmare and it was a mistake. She laments she was here with him instead of being with Rafe. EJ appears slightly hurt. He steps forward and agrees they did a terrible thing. He advises her to move on, She snaps she cannot. He insists she can, but she feels guilty. If Rafe ever found out ... EJ drawls Rafe will never know. "Yesterday was sex, yesterday meant nothing," says he. Sami gets more upset as she did exactly what her mother did with John. Now she is just like her! EJ thinks she is overreacting. No one knows what happened. Sami declares she knows and she now knows Rafe deserves better than her! She admires a picture of Johnny and recalls how Rafe was always there. Then she blamed him when Johnny went missing and somehow showed up here. She does not think she can live with herself. EJ asks her to listen and stops her from leaving. She snaps not to touch her but waits. EJ would like to know what she is thinking. She hisses she hates him.
